If Love Actually and Serendipity had a baby....
21 September 2023
It very much feels like what would happen if you took the British aspect along with holiday movie aspect of Love Actually and merged it with Serendipity, you'd get this. It also takes some inspiration from Four Weddings and a Funeral though it only has one of each in the movie. The two leads definitely make the movie for me. The actress who plays Oliver's mom gives a touching performance in one scene. It also has a British woman narrating the movie which reminded me of Bridget Jones's Diary. All in all. It's a cute rom com to watch especially during the holiday season. Somewhat predictable but surprising in other's.

Not afraid to tackle controversial topics.....
28 January 2023
I love that this show isn't afraid to tackle some controversial topics. The first episode had me interested the entire time. Not once did I check my phone. And I liked that the episode wasn't afraid to talk about the "other side" of a topic that can be very sensitive in nature. I know for myself when something like what's depicted at the end of that show happens, I like a lot of people (I think) automatically express sympathy for the victims and place blame on those responsible. And if the perpetrator is a kid, I automatically want to blame his or her parents. This show depicts the point of view of the parents in that situation and what is like to know that your child could possibly cause that kind of harm. Very interesting. Acting wasn't great and the episode moved way too fast. Could've easily turned this into a movie cause there was a lot of storyline to coed.

I wanted to like it....
22 August 2022
I really wanted to like it cause I adored GOT. But unlike GOT, there's not a single character that I found myself rooting for. And the ones that I did like ended up either dying or doing deplorable things. With GOT, I instantly loved Ned and Catlyn Stark. Especially Catlyn Stark. I'm a mom. She was a mom. And I loved her. With HOTD, I was excited to see Rys (not sure what his last name is) as the hand to the king. I loved Rys from the Replacements and Notting Hill. But he sold his daughter off to the king like she was a piece of meat. I also liked the Queen. But she was killed off by her own husband. I liked the princess's best friend but she ends up hooking up with her friend's dad. I liked the princess because she reminded me of Arya but she adores her piece of poop uncle and I don't like that at all. All of the characters I wanted to like either died or ended up being pieces of poop. Unlike GOT, where there were tons of awesome characters to root for who weren't pieces of poop. All in all, I didn't really like it. Even though I wanted to.

The kids sold this movie for me....
13 August 2022
Everyone was talking about how amazing Ethan Hawke is but he's barely in the movie. The two lead actors that played Gwen and Finney sold the movie for me. Those two kids were compelling and had me rooting for them in the end. The dad's character is somewhat predictable. Alcoholic dad who's self medicating after losing his wife who takes out his anger and fear on his children. Far fetched plot with the phone? Absolutely. But the performances from the two kids were compelling enough that I didn't care.

Starts out slow but gets better as the series goes on
12 August 2022
Not gonna lie, I got to episode 4 and was kind of done because it was so slow. I like slow burns and I like crime dramas with a message but this was slow. By episode 5/6, it starts to pick up. Haven't gotten to the end yet but I have a feeling I know where it's going. It's got some twists to it. I like the detective and the banter that occurs between him and his witness. The prosecutor keeps going in and out of sobriety and that gets annoying. Plus she comes across kind of "whiny" as well. Regina King delivers a solid performance as always. I like the actor that played her brother in law as well.

It's JLo playing Jennifer Lopez
17 February 2022
Felt more like an autobiography of JLo. She plays a singer (wow what a stretch). JLo's on engagement #6 with Ben Afleck I believe? Married three times to guys who were wrong for her. Engaged to a Latino singer (JLo was married to Marc Anthony). Plus there was zero chemistry between Owen and Jenn. Not believable at all. My least favorite JLo rom com which stinks cause I adore monster in law and the wedding planner.

Trump Card (2020)

Has anyone noticed that the SAME director keeps putting out pro-Trump garbage?
14 October 2020
When it's literally the same director who's literally put out several "documentaries" with a pro-Trump agenda. Ask yourself? Might this information be just a lil bit bias? And if it's drought with bias, is it all that factual? Or is it just ANOTHER movie designed to rally Trump's cult members? 🤔
