I will never be the same again
28 February 2004
I will never be the same again, and I mean it. I have never in my life been so moved by a movie. It's like, now I get so many stories I heard from the Bible. Also, as a student of history, who is passionate about the subject, I finally got to see a glimpse into the past. Yes yes, it is a movie, but I still felt like I could be right there. Also, it is a passionate movie about forgiveness. Many claim that this movie points fingers at who killed Christ, but it doesn't. What I saw was a powerful movie not meant to generate hate, but forgiveness. I usually have a very weak stomach, but I sat through the scenes just fine. I recommend it to everyone who is old enough to see it.

I knew I would cry watching this movie, but i didn't know I would during the first quarter of it. It was awesome! It was so inspirational. As soon as I have a little extra cash, I will by the DVD. Cuba was awesome! The whole freaken thing was awesome. See this! If you don't like it, what's wrong with you. LOL! Just kidding! Anyways, I highly recommend it. It's now one of my favorite movies out there!

Comedy?
3 February 2004
This was a horribly depressing movie. I really don't understand why it was called a comedy at all. Truthfully it was a drama with a few moments of a little bit of humor. There was only one scene that I laughed at, and that was when Kate Hudson's character was talking to that French guy on the phone and he called her comment stupid. I have a friend from the North of France, and that was something that he would of said, so it was true to life. As for the rest, it needed some help. I should of listened to other peoples warnings about this movie. If you want to watch a romantic movie set in France, see something like "Le Fabuleux destin d'Amélie Poulain," but not this.

Cute

Warning: Spoilers
SPOILERS throughout my comment. Be warned. I also warn in there at a major spoiler.

Very very cute movie. I loved it. Only one problem. It was so short! It was like, oh she won her date, they went on it, she goes home, tad goes to find her, (ok, that was what we saw in the previews, if you don't want to know more, don't read the next part. What I'm going to say next is a major SPOILER!), wants her to go to California with him, friend tells her he's in love with her, starts to go on the trip anyway, changes her mind, goes finds the friend, and they hug.(End of spoiler) It was really fast, but I think that was the point. it was a quick light hearted romantic comedy that was just supposed to make you feel good. It's rather predictable, but I think they meant it to be that way too. If you watch it, you'll know what I mean why. It was almost like, if it didn't happen that way, you'd be mad. I'll tell you one thing, I didn't walk out mad at all. :)

Why?
19 January 2004
Oh why of why did they have to go there. This one was horrible. I was so confused watching this movie. This so missed the creepy air of the first two. They also changed stuff. Minor stuff, but the minor stuff all put together was kinda a big thing, so not having it in this one made the movie even worse for me. For example, why was his hair short? The first two were long. Changing didn't add to the movie. All it did was make me go "What the heck?" Plus, the two in love seemed more like awkward teenagers, not two people in love. The first one was great, the second one ok, and this one sucked! Do yourself a favor, don't watch it. It's time waisted that I can never get back.

A great chick flick
19 January 2004
I love this movie. I love watching it when I'm in a sappy mood. It's a cute love story, that defies the expectations of social and economic class. It also shows how people should never lose their sense of self, no matter what happens to them in life. Danielle stays who she is throughout her whole life, regardless of how her step mother treated her, and regardless of the fact that she was a peasant. If anything, because of her circumstances, she became an even stronger person, and that was probably one of the reasons she was so appealing to the prince. The only thing that bothers me is their accents. They were not bad accents, if the movie was about English people. The movie is set in France, so therefore they should be french. Are french accents really that hard or something? I don't get it why people do that in movies. This is not the first time I've seen it happen. Well anyways, I digress, and will get to the point. This is a great movie. This is a great movie for anyone in the mood for a great chick flick.

A great date movie
19 January 2004
This is a great date movie. I love it how they fall in love, despite they're difference. I also love it how she loves him for him, and not this built up romantic image that many American woman have about French men. (This is quite evident throughout the movie) Obviously the movie is just like the tag line, but how they get their, is a wonderful story within itself. I recommend this for anyone who wants to see a great date movie, and who doesn't mind a movie set in the 80s.
