Homeland: Better Call Saul (2015)

Homeland now becoming Snoreland

I've been jilted. I started watching this amazing show 5 season ago that on a weekly basis was compelling, intriguing and always left me wanting more. I feel those characteristics are sorely missed in this season, and especially this episode. I feel the writers are scraping the bottom of the creative barrel and threw together a contrived plot that hinged on a pair of hackers, and now they have to fill a season with the repercussions on their actions and the fallout from it. WHo cares?? Where as the previous seasons episodes(with possible exception of Brodys family subplots)always drew its viewers in and left you eager for the next SUndays show, this season just doesn't have that same pull. I now watch from habit, not because I have to see where the last crazy twist will take us, I think the writers have become very lazy and need to be either reinvigorated or replaced.

Perhaps they can recruit in a covert mission the writers of the show they borrowed the title of this episode from, now that is good writing....

I know Paul will disagree with this review:)

The Middle: The Table (2014)
Season 6, Episode 4
10/10
This episode is packed with funny.
6 November 2014
This was a great episode, one of the scary things about this show is how similar this show is to my life. My wife and I have just completed our 20th anniversary the night we watched this, as were Frankie and Mike!! Patricia Heatons bday is the same day as my wife's, and their financial situation is not all that far from ours.

We also just recently purchase house furniture from craigslist as they did in this episode.

In addition to all these coincidences, the show is continuously funny, and touching. I fear the day that The Middle is no longer creating new episodes, as it has been a source of family entertainment for years. Love this show, loved this episode.

Wait till you see the last scene of this episode BTW, brilliant.

Nice idea, but torn between being a juvenile comedy and drama.

This movie seems geared towards families, in fact my 8 year old daughter was bugging me to see this movie. Fortunately I saw it without her and boy was I glad about that!!

Sandler goes for the least common denominator here, he peppers the dialog with enough profanity to fill a swimming pool. Even the child actors let the curses fly. For why? I always believed when a movie lacks some serious comedic content the makers decide to reach far into the desperation bag and pull out the "everybody in this movie swears like a prisoner."

Aside from that, Sandlers mom was distractingly annoying, Henry Winkler was great, and Sandlers wife was stunningly beautiful and believable.

The story was okay, but my niece and I called the ending almost from the beginning, the message is one that is probably very much needed to be heard by most of American parents-not just dads.

Hustle & Flow (2005)

there is a good reason no one wanted to make this movie

In the DVD extra making of, you find out every studio passed on it till John Singleton decided to finance on his own. Well, those studios for once were right. This "pimp" never shows any musical talent, nor a Dream to be involved in the music industry at all-then Wa-laa, he has a burning desire to start spitting, and the world needs to listen. And somehow, this has been a lifelong dream? Its more like his life long dream has been to make money by any means necessary, so I guess becoming a rapper fulfills that dream in a way. This main character isn't anyone of any morals or ethics, his one admirable quality is that he allows a pregnant whore to stay at his crib, wow, this guy is my kinda guy. And in the making of extra, the cast and crew treat this piece of garbage like it was the most important film ever made-and a story that HAD to be told. God help us.

wonderful magical movie, I wish more movies were as good

I watched this movie with my 8 year old daughter and we both loved it!!! Not one curse word, but yet not syrupy sweet, Danny Boyle has a great eye as a director-I look forward to more movies by him. I think I'll be watching this movie again and I only do that for the movies I really love. The kids were believable and the whole "seeing saints" idea was funny.

It's a shame this movie didn't get more recognition when it was out here in the U.S., or t least I didn't think it did.

I wish they could make a sequel to this but it probably would never be as good as this was, sequels rarely are as good as the original.
