good WWII flick worth seeing on the big screen
3 October 2008
I went to see Religulous and was 20 minutes late so I decided to see Miracle at ST. Anna instead and I'm glad I did. Spike Lee's all star cast did not disappoint. The movie did not seem too long and I loved the whole story in one big loop on all sides of the fence. The struggle of the Black soldier feeling acceptance in a time of severe prejudice and the Italian, German sides of the story. The flashback was great too because it totally tied you in to the struggle. Valentina Cervi was ridiculously sexy and loved her character. So many characters in this flick and they all were amazing and the detail of the film deserves and A plus, I felt like I was in 1944. I have seen a few SPIKE LEE joints in the past and enjoyed "he got game" and "she hate me"..but this was great. Not enough tribute has been given to the black soldiers and air force. The movie "GLORY" was great too. I would like to see SPIKE do a 80% white movie for no reason other than why not. New found respect for LEE though after this EPIC. No one can criticize this flick without seeing it. Great ending, great pacing, great visuals, great story, great editing, great directing, great acting.

Totally Awesome (2006 TV Movie)
At first you want to rank on it.....then...
2 January 2007
I've seen spoof movies and decided to watch "TOTALLY AWESOME" on DVD. At first I thought it was really terrible even for a spoof....but I kept watching and it kinda grew on me. There were some surprising Laugh out Loud scenes. I think the dance (Flashdance-Dirty Dancing) side story probably seemed funnier on paper (the script) but didn't work. Brittany Daniel is listed as top bill and we didn't see nearly enough of her. KIP was hilarious at times. Not a "TOTAL" waste of time if you just want a few laughs while eating pizza! The "Miagi" spoof of being gay was very funny as well. I thought there could have been more sexiness...but hey--it's VH1 TV movie. Maybe they can't show too much.
