Waiting for Sunrise (2005)
Disturbing Yet Powerful short documentary
Waiting for Sunrise is a Powerhouse of a documentary. I would vote this even higher if i could on IMDb Now this documentary is seriously disturbing yet very powerful. I just recently got to watch this short, even though it was made in 2005.
Aneel Ahmad's documentary is a true portrayal of how poor children live in Lahore Pakistan, and it sure does pack a punch. Some of the images were really disturbing and it really does show how we need to help and change society for the better.
There are so many poor people in 3rd world countries that live in extreme poverty, and fall into the trap of serious drug abuse. This short documentary shows those very horrors and I'm still kind of in shock while writing this review.
Well done to the director Aneel Ahmad, clearly all your body of work is so powerful and this one is seriously really worth viewing.
A deeply disturbing short documentary that stays with you 10-10
Argo (2012)
Must be the Oscar winner for best picture 9-10
Argo is not only an important film that many of us were completely oblivious – but it is also one of the better films of this or the past few years.
Ben Aflicks direction was amazing and the story was compelling. This is a must see and if it doesn't win an Oscar then i would be truly surprised. I don't want to get into the story or give spoilers.
Argo, based on a true story of how a CIA ex filtration specialist attempts to free six Americans who have taken shelter in the home of the Canadian Ambassador during the Iranian hostage crisis.
Affleck confidently and flawlessly directs himself. A must see and i urge where ever you are you must watch.
9-10
Boy in the Tree (2011)
A very good short film. Beautifully told
I just got to see this short film this weekend in FL. It was beautiful and really emotional. The story was simple and the cinematography was excellent, the music was perfect and it was the kind of film that should be seen in Schools around the world.
Educating it's audience about 'Poverty' I have not seen a lot of films made in India or from that part of the world, so for me this film was an insight about the way poor people live. The young boys performance was very good and the acting was so natural.
This is what is missing in the world, films that are made in the spirit of kindness and giving. There are so many poor people in the world who do not even get the chance to eat.
You come out feeling that you have just learned a lot about your own life as well as the life of people living in poorer countries.
Very emotional, beautiful, excellent cinematography, wonderful music, great acting, beautiful direction. A very good short movie.
