Hellraiser: Revelations (2011)
It has a lot of potential
I'm not jumping on the heat bandwagon here for this movie for a few reasons. I mean, let's get this out of the way, the person who played pinhead was awful, and I can understand how that could ruin the entire movie. However, if you look past the actor that plays Ben head and kind of picture, God, Bradley in your head, then the movie was actually pretty interesting. I mean, think of all the similarities to the first to you. You know you had the sex of the sort of in the sentence. The that was almost like they were rebuilding Frankie don't like from the first two I thought it had a lot of great potential. Just really bad acting too bad because it was a good story line. But I am a huge Clive Barker fan. I've literally ever had all of his books so that the novice here. Lol.
A Perfect Enemy (2020)
Pay very close attention!
This movie constantly kept me on my toes; I could not figure out what the heck was going on when it started, but I couldn't look away! Their performances were mesmerizing, and the story being unfolded had me hooked.
Let's talk about the "Big Twist"...by this point in the flick where the Twist happens obviously we've already figured it out, but it's still fascinating and utterly captivating movie to the very last scene.
Legend (1985)
One of the best fantasy epics of all time.
'Legend' is literally one of the all time best fantasy films ever made. This movie is magical, plain and simple. It also feels like this was the perfect template for so many other great fantasy epics that came afterwards. For example, I think perhaps there wouldn't have been a 'Willow' or even a 'Labyrinth' without 'Legend'. This movie set the bar high, and set the stage for some of my personal favorite movies growing up (most of which are fantasy epics). I know 'Star Wars' gets the bulk of the credit for launching these fantasy epic type movies. But, this seems more of a direct link to others dating back to the 80's, like 'Willow' and 'Labyrinth', and even as recent as 'Mirrormask'.
Final thought:
The actors were all phenomenal; especially Tom Cruise (who I typically don't love), Mia Sara (who plays both the innocent and dark versions of Lili so well), and obviously Tim Curry (I mean, c'mon his Darkness is so badass). These characters are all so brilliant!
Ovum (2015)
Another amazing story from Sonja O'Hara
An entirely new and interesting premise for a story. The actors are unique and wonderful, and I felt seamlessly part of the unfolding narrative as an audience member.
I'm watching this creators career unfold with such excitement. This is the third film of hers I've seen, and they're all phenomenal. Do yourself a favor and watch everything she makes....I know I will.
Doomsday (2016)
Fascinating
This series is a fascinating and hauntingly beautiful look at a cult from the perspective of the members. Waiting (semi) patiently for the remaining episodes to be released
Happy Death Day (2017)
My favorite horror movie of 2017
Scream meets Groundhog Day. I highly recommend this if you enjoy a little humor with your horror.
