The Tuskegee Airmen (1995)
Good historical flick
This is a much better movie about the Tuskegee airmen than RedTails and other similar movies. It does a good job showing how they had to overcome the bigoted attitudes of the time and how they won the respect of the all white bomber crews. I have an idea that conditions were actually much worse than what was depicted. Kudos especially to Laurence Fishburne and Andre Braugher, outstanding performances.
A Merry Christmas Match (2019)
Needed a better title
These Hallmark movies are pretty predictable. So if you're expecting some riveting plot, please go elsewhere. These are strictly for holiday warmth and nostalgia. I like this one more than some because the leads are better than others that get recycled through these Hallmark movies. Other reviewers say the acting is bad. They haven't seen other Hallmark movies. These two are much more natural. Not a whiny or over the top arrogant boyfriend. Not the mousy under confident female. Much more enjoyable.
The Hollywood Knights (1980)
1966
The movie is set in Halloween 1965. Unfortunately some of the music played during the show was not released until after that. Seems like this should have been easy for them them to verify. Other than that it is entertaining amd probably pretty typical antics for the time frame.
Holocaust (1978)
Made quite a impression
I haven't seen this since high school. We had to watch it as part of a homework assignment. It evidently did such a good job portraying nazis as evil, that for a long time I could only see James Wood and Michael Moriarty as evil people. It was very difficult to separate their role from them just being actors. Which is a testimony to their acting! It is now many years later and I would like to see it again.
Ground Control (1998)
Good movie
Who cares about technical inaccuracies of radio jargon or airplane details. The majority of watchers do not know and dont care. To me the only thing that is a little bit unbelievable is how the airport could have "too many planes coming in." Dont they have control of that? Anyway, it's a good show with a good outcome, even if somewhat predictable.
Pure Genius: Pilot (2016)
Not just another doctor show
This is the type of science fiction that I like. A show about science. Specifically this show is about the melding of medical science with information technology. And what I really like is the altruistic attitudes of the characters, not the arrogance of other TV doctors. I love how this show is about helping people. And portrays doctors as just regular human beings just like everyone else. We wish we all had these doctors. It is a feel good, but not sappy show that is sorely needed in these depressing times. This reminds me somewhat of ER, another long running hospital show. They are dedicated and driven people, but not without drama and humor of their own. I hope it sticks around.
