Rapture (II) (2019)

Low budget but interesting.

Low budget movie with budget actors and acting. I was actually interested in the movie. Watched it to the end as was hoping for some more answers. It kept my attention the whole time. Especially the scene where the pregnant woman is in the house and thirsty and is about to drink the water and then her husband discovers the water or any food or drink will kill her.

The reason I give it a 4? Well you can't give it 3.5 but 3 is too low.

1) I've seen movies with higher budgets that are a lot worse than this movie.

2) the lack of conclusion and explanation in the film.

Would I watch it again? No.

Prom Night (I) (2008)

I enjoyed the movie

I actually really enjoyed. I was entertained throughout. It's actually a lot better than the reviews suggest. Not sure why it's rated so low. I have seen far worse movies rated higher. It's a good slasher film has a couple surprise elements however you can predict majority of the film, which is fine it's not a mystery movie. Honestly give this movie a shot, watch it and decide for yourself. It's produced well, acting is good.

The only scene i hated was the scene when the alarm is going off to exit the building everyone is leaving and then the main character Donna asks one of the students "what's happening?" they reply "i don't know" and then she said "i'm just going to go get my shawl." like what really? But then they are meant to be teens so it's not unrealistic lol.

Chronicle of a Serial Killer (2020)

Deserving of the low rating

Movie has odd transitions as if a few scenes have just been cut mindlessly. So poorly edited.

The best part of the movie is when Smith goes into the bathroom gets a gun and is overpowered in 2 seconds. The acting in that scene was so poor.

The script is so bad that Smith gets a warning that her window is left open and you don't make any precautions to make the area safe.

Villain just dumps bodies and no one sees anything in the middle of the day.

The second best scene is when the little boys mum is kidnapped and he doesn't even scream or say anything. But the dad runs out after the car is driven away and gets the car plate.

The villain actually does pretty good as a villain. Probably the best actor of the lot.

Terrible movie that alludes to a sequel.

The Student (I) (2017)

unlikeable professor

The movie wasn't bad but it wasn't enjoyable mostly because of Abigail the seems set from the beginning to dislike Vance. The professor Abigail that wants to fail an A grade student because he didn't cite some past case in his final assessment that she had some reason researched his previous assignments to know that he should have known and mentioned said case. The most hypocritical thing is Abigail's past that caused a wrongly convicted man to commit suicide yet she is qualified to run the ethics class now and be extremely strict. Vance cleverly broke into her house leaving really no evident that it was him yet she blames Vance immediately (yeah i know he did it, but you can't just accuse people with no evidence) She just has it in for the kid.

Look turns out Vance killed his other professed for giving him a B- but Abigail was so unlikeable that I was rooting for Vance. Abigail once again responsible for 2 deaths walks away free so where is the justice?

Vance was a smart man but the pressure to keep a scholarship, the trauma from his past and his toxic home environment. You actually have empathy for him. It's would have been a way more enjoyable movie if they made Abigail a better person and made her likeable.

The Bone Garden (II) (2016)

It's bad. 2 stars bc i didn't predict how bad

Low budget well yes. Bad acting yep. Storyline that makes sense no not really. Have given two stars as it did surprise me.

Spoiler breakdown.

Neighbour witnesses art professor carrying what looks like bodies in his yard. Students at the university seem to be disappearing. Her husband also works there. Long story short her husband killed the girls as they were hitting on him for a good grade so he thought he was doing the world a favour. Frames the neighbour for the bodies. Wifey suspects husband is cheating so cheats on him. Neighbour goes missing and his wife. Husband finds out about affair, attempts to kill wifey. Wifey best friend rescues her. Then not sure what happened to her. But wifey ends up in the crop circle filled with the dead neighbour and his wife, some other people and a dead dog. It's just such a convoluted story. Her husband her friend and her. No attachment to characters. Terrible waste of time.

Lost Fare (2018)

missing depth

This movie had some great elements. However I really could not give this film more than 3 stars. It's missing so much depth. The story ends and i have more questions than answers. It's based on a true story so I was intrigued with this sad premise of the film. I have tried finding more details of the real story online but came up empty. I wonder how much was creative licence and how much was in fact true. The movie ends and it gives some info about the movie it's based on, she has a muscular dystrophy and is still alive, no further information on any of the other characters.

Was it heartwarming like other reviews said. Not really. Would i recommend this movie? Not really. Would i watch it again? No. This movie just fell short.

Guess Who (2024 TV Movie)

want to feel depressed - watch this movie

This movie started so well. I was hooked and the first 45 mins i was hopeful that this was going to be a good movie. Then it just went down hill so quickly that the second half of the movie is terrible and then twist and ending very sad and depressing. I know you don't watch horror movies expecting to be happy but you do expect the characters to make sense even the slightest. The movie ends and you honestly feel miserable. The murderer has motives which are so inconceivable it would have been better if it was just random.

I feel like it just had a poorly written script that wanted to tell too many stories so combined them all to make one really bad depressing one. Would not watch again.

Stalker (III) (2022)

slow and then intense

The start of the movie was a bit slow. However it had a very intense ending, the last 20 mins. I actually hate movies when the bad "guy" gets away with it so i was ready to rate this poorly and be upset however although the character comes to an untimely and gruesome death the split second of seeing the phone was recording everything made me super happy bc i know even though not shown on screen, the bad person will get caught and the innocent persons death won't be for nothing. Would i watch this again, no. However it was a surprising film and i wasn't expecting what happened to happen. I would have liked a little more background into the characters but overall it was well made for a very small small cast. Acting was great.

Secrets in the Water (2021 TV Movie)

predictable but enjoyable

I liked the movie a lot. It was well made I feel like I needed a bit more background on the main character though. Bailey calls herself trailer trash but she lives in this beautiful gorgeous house. Baileys mother seems unwell as we see her in a robe saying bye to Bailey but have no idea what she has, why she is acting that way. I guess we can presume that the mother is living in her younger husbands (baileys stepfathers house) as when he asks bailey to leave the mother doesn't argue just hands bailey her bag so maybe she doesn't want to cause issues or be sent back to the trailer? Thing is, i don't like to make my own narrative, it would be better if the background was provided even a mere sentence like "if it wasn't for my stepdad, i'd be living in a trailer" could have given some more information.

The main character, the mother of Mia. She doesn't really know anything about Mia. Now i know teenagers hide things from parents but the mother seemed to know nothing.

Did i predict the killer from the start? Yes. However i enjoyed the ride and learning about the motive. Again it would have been nice to hear a little interview from Trent on why he would even offer 1 million for her to kill Mia. She turned him down for prom so he wanted revenge?

Happily (2021)

one of the worst movies ever made

I'll start with the positives as there is so few 1) The production is good. It doesn't appear like a D grade movie (even though it is one) 2) The lead male actor is shirtless and easy on the lines.

3) The movie does keep you interested as you think something interesting will happen (it doesn't) but you at least think it will.

Negatives 1) The music/sound effects awful 2) The plot (it's half baked. It pretends to have a plot but it goes nowhere and i mean nowhere) 3) Do you expect answers to half baked movie plot? Well you won't get any here.

4) friends that hate each other and have no chemistry rent a house to party together.

Munger Road (2011)

Wish i had read the reviews before watching.

Movie had me interested but to end a movie with absolutely zero resolution is not fun. I tried to find the sequel and it doesn't exist. Normally when a movie has a cliffhanger it's the villain is shown or just disappears etc. This movie literally just ends and says - to be continued. So you do not what happens with the characters and the plot has no outcome.........There is no sequel i already looked for it. If it had an ending i would be more lenient with scores. I don't understand. Also not sure why my review needs to be 600 characters whereas other reviews are 2 sentences.

Tell Me How I Die (2016)

missed opportunity

The storyline could have been great.

1) it does drag a bit. Slow start to the movie. I feel like i was bored and might have missed some key information bc it was drowned by the boring beginning.

2) The motives of the killer are non existent. Would be given higher score if a little more background was given.

3) Some of the acting seems so-so. Could be the way it was filmed though.

4) i don't like endings without closure. You can imagine what happens but i'd rather know for sure. Did they catch the murderer? Did Den survive? Why did the murderer do what he did? Why did the murderer predict what was going to happen but not the female lead when she just took a recent high dose? Why did she just stand there watching instead of helping?

5) at the end you hear sirens but how is the police alerted?

Overall i thought the movie was okay. I wouldn't watch it again but with some editing this could have been an amazing movie. Thought the villain did a great job, it would have been good if they had more dialogue and was more present.

Mystery and twists

I really enjoyed this movie because it didn't follow the predictable path i thought it was going to follow. It had mystery, creepiness and thriller elements.

I thought the ending was amazing and i actually felt very satisfied with it. The characters i wanted survived.

The best friend - I would have liked to see what they did to May as although she was tied up, she wasn't really harmed in any way. I guess that's why she reacted in the way she did. Interesting that they murdered Penelope who they knew for many years but merely tied up May.

This movie was better than most blockbusters in the same genre.

Truth or Dare (II) (2013)

This movie is horrible. I watched this until the end and unfortunately the more i watched the worse the movie the movie got. I don't mind gore, I've seen all the saw movies. But this was done so tasteless, it was the definition of torture porn which i do not enjoy.

If you like to hurt people and see people suffering Enjoy blood and sadistic violence and watching people die if you love no plot or plot holes if you like no closure Then this movie is for you.

If you enjoy movies with plot, character development, substance, good directing and scripts then watch something else. As this is not the movie for you.

Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (1993–1997)

excellent show

The special effects especially earlier in the series were not fantastic but ignoring that, the stories are great. Really interesting. Fun and happy. You will finish each episode and feel "good". It's family friendly too. I really really enjoyed this show. Shame it was only 4 seasons long bc i would have loved more.

Plus dean cain is a extremely good looking superman despite not having the classic blue eyes. Terri Hatcher also an excellent Lois. At first i didn't like how they switched jimmy but the second jimmy was a better fit for the role.

I haven't read the comics but different from smallville.

Smallville (2001–2017)

watched all 10 seasons and love itaa

The show is great. First few seasons are episodic not much development in overall story. As the seasons progress more is unpacked of Clark's history and the storyline's become more deep but still have a fun episode with a conclusion. You can watch any episode out of order and still enjoy it but obviously the later seasons you will be confused here and there if not watched previous episodes.

All the characters except for Chloe are excellent. If Chloe was played by a half decent actress then i'd give this show a 10/10. Unfortunately Chloe is in most episodes and they even to my disappointment have her end up with The Green Arrow. The Green Arrow comics do not have a "Chloe" so unsure why they had them get together.

Lana Lang even though you know she doesn't end up with Clark you really see the story and how it was his first love and i liked how they tied the story arch up so that they could never be together. His relationship with Lane surprised me as at first i thought i don't see this developing to wow they are perfect for each other. Lane and Kent are great actors bc it truly does look like they are head over heels for each other.

It does have episodes that i would not watch again here and there but only a handful and a show with 217 episodes that's impressive. There's also no super annoying flashback only episodes which is basically not a new episode. The show has flashbacks here and there but always purposeful not just to fill up space.

Glad i discovered this show.

Upgrade (2018)

Original action packed thriller

I went into this movie blind and I'm in shock I had never heard of this movie before. It had actors I am not familiar with however the acting was excellent. Has a small cast and not much back story given to the characters is the only possible flaw. However this movie was amazing. I really enjoyed it and I would say it is one of the best movies I have ever seen. The sci fi and graphics were top notch with some things I had never seen before. Movie was engaging with interesting and original characters and plot. Had a nice unexpected twist. Highly recommend this movie. I would watch this movie again.

The Good Nurse (2022)

Execution terrible.

The general storyline is great. The acting is great. It's just execution is terrible. This would have been more interesting as a mini series where some character development was formed. Other than the patient that had a 6 month old daughter none of the other victims were really memorable. The first victim in which the police are investigating the death, we are not even sure why they are investigating. The scene with the IV bags with pin pricks and the scene where Charlie is at her house with the kids is amazing though. Would I watch it again? No. So that's another reason the score drops. It had potential.

Blonde (2022)

Should be illegal

They shouldn't be allowed to make fictional stories of famous people when they are not alive to approve or defend themselves.

Also the movie was terrible. Terrible acting, dialogue and storyline. It was even filmed badly too. I don't understand how anyone can give this more than 1 star?

Anyone reading this should know the movie is not based on facts or the real story. I'm sad that some people will watch this and think it's based off a true story. If this movie came out when the people depicted in it could defend themselves, they would be sued. This movie taints a literally icon as a prostitute.

Senior Year (2022)

Loved this movie

This movie was great and I finished high school in 2005 so it was pretty relatable to me. I loved the music, the dancing, the positive messages and just the happy feeling the movie gave me. I watched the whole movie and was not bored at all. I didn't use my phone while watching it so it kept my interest. Would have liked a little more love story so minus one star.

Great comedy. Lots of laughs. Great happy feeling at the end. Funny throughout. Likeable characters. I'd watch this again.

The Wrong Wedding Planner (2020 TV Movie)

The wrong franchise

The wrong franchise, I've watched a few of the others to my disappointment and this one although still disappointing not as hideous as other ones.

1) The wrong wedding planner and the groom look to be mid 40s. Which would mean the wrong wedding planner has loved the groom for over 20 years. Just seems a bit too far fetched for a theme.

2) The same problem with similar the wrong franchise, it comes off as way to G rated. We don't need to see gore or anything but I've seen other Lifetime movies when it's done a lot better.

3) the wrong wedding planner ties up the bride and just leaves her in the room and other than knocking her out temporarily does nothing to her.

4) The bride just happens to have a hammer sitting in the draw. She can then walk silently behind someone and attack without being noticed despite the groom looking at her.

Some more negatives but those are the main ones.

Storyline was weak Boring.

Bad acting by the female daughter.

Villain was good looking so watched to the end.

Sherlock Holmes (2009)

I'm a huge Sherlock Holmes fan. As a child I read the stories and enjoyed them.

This movie however was terrible. It's not true to the Sherlock Holmes characters and stories.

Now pretend it was not Sherlock Holmes and it's still a terrible movie. This movie puts me to sleep without fail. Also the way it's filmed makes the people quiet but background loud which is frustrating to watch.

Get Organized with the Home Edit (2020–2022)

Not impressed

The celebrity episodes are boring, unrealistic and unattainable to everyday people. It's easy to organise a house/room when you have a gigantic space. Skip the celebrity episodes.

The show would be lot better if it was only focused on regular people/families. I'd like to see toy room, small bedrooms, small living rooms etc being organised.

Also organising a fridge using plastic and more plastic is just pointless.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022)

Who cares?

You don't care about the characters at all. There isn't enough character development, characters are not likeable nor attractive and the script is terrible.. Honestly didn't care when anyone died, scenes that made zero sense. I had to rewind a few scenes bc I thought I missed something, but no i didn't. Look the 2003 version was much much better, watch that instead.
