Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend (2022)
Good family fun
We watched this as a family and thought it was great fun. We loved the diversity of the chefs and learning about so many different culture's cuisines. The humour kept my 10-year-old son engaged in the show too!
We hope there will be a further season and that the same chefs will return. It's not often you get a show that suits the whole family.
Hopefully, it will also inspire my son to cook a little more often - we've already seen early signs as he cooked a meal himself. He's also now keen to go out and try new foods - with ramen at the top of the list! He now wants ramen for his next birthday dinner instead of pizza!
Le bureau des légendes (2015)
Amazing show
Great show that draws you in and just as you get complacent it shifts gear and you're completely hooked. Fabulous acting.
Made for Love (2021)
Amazing and original
It's completely original, couldn't stop watching and it really does leave you thinking about society and where we're headed. I love the humour and horror all mixed in together. Fingers crossed for a season 2!!
The Crown (2016)
Mezmerising
I found the series mesmerising and thought provoking. The acting is first class and somehow you feel for all the characters, even though they all have obvious flaws. The authenticity of the characters is what makes it so special. Each cleverly written conversation with the main characters makes you feel as though you were seeing the situation from their shoes. Of course, the wonderful cinematography doesn't hurt either. I found myself entranced with the history and often found it difficult not to read Wikipedia halfway through an episode to know more about a character or situation. I'm torn between the characters and she her I even support a monarchy it really seems like s burden. The media dumps on them so quickly but watching this series you gain an appreciation for the family's commitment and sacrifices. Can't wait for season 2!
Red Dog (2011)
Loved it!
I am a dog lover and just absolutely loved this movie. It made me laugh and it made it me cry (a lot). I was literally sobbing in one section.
Overall, it is just a lovely simple story that has a heart. The fact that it's based on true events makes it all the more powerful.
While the story centred on characters, what I love is that someone the actors don't overshadow the dog - he is the star and remains the star throughout the movie. I think seeing a movie, almost through a dog's eyes, makes this even more special.
Was is it a perfectly scripted and acted movie? Perhaps, not but all I know was that I was entertained from the minute it started to the minute it ended and I walked away feeling touched. Sometimes, that's all a movie should do.
I think everyone can take something from this movie.
I'll be sure to watch this again on DVD, it really does touch you.
