Heart of Stone (2023)
there seems to be lots of interest behind these inaccurate reviews
Some reviews are describing this movie as a low budget terrible acting etc when in fact I found the movie to be a good piece of action.
Actors weren't bad but of course it was not a very original plot, but the action scenes were hollywood "mission impossible" level and some were breathtaking. Between this movie and the new Transformers one, I'd chose this one as a better experience.
Did the actors have stupid lines? Was the plot sometimes quite predictable? Was it using ideas from other movies? Yes, but then so did other hollywood movies this year which had better reviews. Not an 8, but worth watching if you like action.
The Spy Who Never Dies (2022)
an insult to intelligence
The comedy style is like for 4 years old kids, yet the movie's action sequences and bad language content force it to be watched by adults.
After reading some of the reviews, I really tried my best to watch around 20 min but the "comedy" was so mediocre, I felt coming out of it less intelligent than when I started. It was painful.
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent (2022)
welcome back Nick
I almost forgot how an amazing actor he is, it was refreshing to see him back even if the action parts were not the hollywood action I expected but I still enjoyed. Nick bro please keep it up, we need you.
Last Seen Alive (2022)
sorry you had to go through that, Gerald
There it goes one of my favorite icons of good action movies down the hall of "low budget" fame. At some point, the computer made effects were so fake it was even painful to watch ....
Wrong Turn (2021)
Thank god the lack of imagination is already shown in the title
And you would think that the more people in the world, the more good movies we'll see....yet here we have another attempt to make money out of the 100 "wrong turn, gonna get killed in the woods" movies...I hope to see a generation where they stop making a living out of the first profitable movie and start creating original movies
Shadow in the Cloud (2020)
A bit anti-men, true, but common it was entertaining
I think the reviews are a bit harsh, it is a FANTASTIC and not historic movie, and myself as a spanish guy who's married to a Chinese and very pro equality, the only thing I didn't like is that it was a bit too much on the "women can be tougher than man" sort of scenes, but then again she was playing the part of being sort of special in the movie, kind of when you watch a Mission Impossible where no one talks about the guy being too much of a player doing with women and others what he likes cause he got skills. I thought many of the scenes were kind of funny and generally speaking quite good special effects during most of the movie, some scenes being breathtaking if you let yourself be immersed. Entertaining.
Mulan (2020)
about the worst disney movie in the last 30 years
As a spanish, married to a chinese, fluent chinese speaker and 15 years in China, I have to say that I regret this movie was not filmed by Zhang Yimo. I wouldn't have wasted one and a half precious hour of my life by watching such terrible special effects, average acting, increasingly boring script and the WORST ending in the history of Disney movies.
there was only a couple of scenes in the movie worth of Disney, the rest it was painful to watch.
#Saraitda (2020)
Totally underrated
It's the perfect proof that korean movies are not being rated properly by those who just hate Asian countries making awesome movies. I am Spanish and I have watched quite a lot of zombie movies but I never watched one with a very real perspective of what it could really happen and this was it. It was very intense cause it felt real.
Due to the low rating I took time to decide whether to watch it or not, I guess next time I will have to add two stars to anything foreign above 6.
Cosmos (2019)
About the most boring movie I have ever seen
A bunch of guys talking and talking in a car, and a guy running is the most exciting part of it
La casa de papel (2017)
With honors, about the best TV series I have ever watched
I don't wanna give it a 10 cause I dont believe in perfection, but it deserves it, cause despite I was convinced by different people to watch it I didn't wanna bother, since I always thought my own country series were boring, predictable and not worth watching. This series gave me hope to believe in Spanish talent for creativity as a unique trait and I thank Netflix for investing on developing such an outstanding masterpiece. Congrats
Eksiteu (2019)
It took my breath away quite a few times
I thought it was gonna be a boring love comedy with a lame and predictable set, and yet the acting wasn't bad, the story was pretty real and there are quite a few scenes that make you swallow your guts. Finally a korean movie worth reviewing.
