Might lower my rating after s2
18 August 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This show started out as a fun, summer romance for teens but also included so much drama with the parents I felt it was good for all ages. Season 2 started out so sad. And ended sad. Belly should've chosen neither boy once she saw what she was doing to their relationship. Jere was good enough to tell Conrad to tell her he still loves her, and he'd back off if she chose Con.. she chose wrong!! Yes, Conrad needs to do a lot of work on himself and he's kinda boring.. but all those years Belly was "in love" with him, he felt it, too, as evidenced by the infinity necklace.. she never gave jere a second thought (emotionally or romantically) until he kissed her and she felt lust.. not sure I'll watch s3.

The Coroner (2015–2016)

Really good but confusing as an American
29 May 2023
I really like this series. However, I'm spending most of the time trying to figure out what this woman's job is.. I've learned a bit about the British legal system with Crownies, Janet King, etc.. but I have never seen a coroner involved in the investigation.. also, I've never seen this coroner examine a body.. so, as someone from the U. S. I would recommend an explanation or something because otherwise it's fantastic! I really like the lead actor (the coroner), she's always great.

Also, I'm rooting for her and Davey to get back together. I don't usually root for married people to be with another lol so maybe his wife will leave him and then he can realize his true love.

Hard to rate this one
10 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Started off too cheesy (Leah's voice over about teenage life sucks). Took a few episodes but then I really liked it. Yes, there were plot holes but I was still interested. Then s2 we're introduced to the males. Apparently they are the control group. I still can't figure that out.. also, besides that, this experiment would have no validity... the experiment aspect drove me crazy! But I'll watch a s3.

Can't end like that!
27 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I noticed all the great reviews are from 2007.. I'm watching this on Prime now, I only see one season. I was hooked. It starts out like a weirder Stepford Wives.. much more dramatic. I questioned some things, like where was Jack from age 14 to 3 years ago (Meadowlands began 3 years prior).. and zoe was supposed to be him and Tom's last hope...but still, I was interested.. it was so good to the end! But, cliffhanger and no season 2??? I almost want to rate it a 5 because I'm left hanging!

Too much relation
22 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I write this as someone from the US, so at first it was difficult to know who was who because I don't know how to pronounce those names (I watch subtitles, not dubbed).. but in s2 I'm on the 6th episode and I'm still trying to figure out who these people are in relation to another! The guy's sister's son who disrupts the funeral because his mom left them for the neighbor or brother or something... yikes! I really liked s1 even though it was a bit slow. I'm working my way thru s2 so I'll update if my rating changes...

Love the show, quit changing actors
1 January 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I love this show and the relationships. Only disbelief was they got the postmortem results too fast. I didn't like the original Edith, so glad she was changed. But then they changed Adam in s8 and that's just terrible. They finally get together and it's a different, nerdy guy... of course I'll keep watching.

The wife drives me crazy
30 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I'm really trying to focus on the mystery/detective part, which is really good.. but his wife just makes women look bad and it's hard to watch. She screams at him that she's ashamed of him and his job (because they haven't caught the killer yet). When he says he's there to protect her and the kids, she throws it in his face and makes him feel worthless. I'm just starting s2 and she's taking him to court trying to get money from him (not for the kids).. their kids are in school, she has a job, why should he give her money? Get rid of the wife and it's a great show.

Idk what to think
6 August 2021
I'm in the US, never saw the original. Just watched the 1st episode and it was hard to keep up because I was so annoyed by the female cop's jealousy. "Oh she must have been pretty, oh was that her that just called you".. like an annoying ex... maybe she is an ex but it was too much, too distracting. If it gets better I'll update my rating. I usually watch all before reviewing but this was just so annoying.

Dull start, done at s2
14 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Took me a few episodes to get into this show. Then I was into it, cared about the characters and their love lives.. and then season 2 you change the main character???? You can't do that! I don't even like when the supporting cast gets changed, but the character who this show was named after?? I'm halfway thru s2 e1 and I quit.

Warning: Spoilers
This show is great, a good mystery, kept me guessing. I kinda knew,, but there were many other options. My only issue is that Tennison didn't want to sleep her way up, but had no problem lying her way up...

Predictable and bad
19 January 2021
I'm not sure how all these reviews say it was unpredictable and the ending surprised them.. I knew in the first 5 minutes what it was really about. And I'm not good at predicting that kind of stuff, so.. it was way too obvious. Also, I couldn't stand the dialogue, whether it was the script or the acting I'm not sure.

I'm not done yet
16 May 2020
I'm only on the 4th episode so it's hard to accurately rate at this point. The 1st episode was terrible, but I'm guilty of watching at least a whole season if not series before I judge something. I know, shows don't deserve that. Anyway, middle of episode 2 got better.. i really like Boxer.. i feel like I'm too old to watch this with all the techno music, flashing lights, and naked young people.. but I'm into the plot and want to see where it goes..

I Am a Killer (2018–2022)

Drama is good, reality is not
26 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
The stories are dramatic and emotional. I'm usually the person that sticks up for everyone. But it bothered me that these people did not take responsibility! I'm only on episode 2. 1st episode I thought Lindsay was a total liar. But even if she told the truth, we never heard her be sorry. 2nd episode, his life was so sad and I understand how his mind was so messed up, but he said he "blacked out" and "I guess I did it".. also, the interviews with the killers sound so rehearsed and coached.. the words they use and analogies, regular people don't talk like that... just frustrating.. but the premise is good. We'll see how the rest goes..

Starts slow *spoilers*
13 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I really like this show. My biggest issue is the same as my last review from a foreign show, the subtitles don't keep up. It must be a Netflix thing cuz if I rewind and play again, the subtitles are there. However I'm not going to do that every 30 seconds.. anyway it took awhile to watch the first 3 or so episodes, but then I was hooked! The love with Michal was a major factor, so season 2 kind of went downhill.. I'm halfway through season 2 and I would still recommend it. They even pay tribute to Alfred Hitchcock!

Great show, but... (spoilers)
10 January 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I really love this show. Watching on Netflix so I'm binge watching and I just can't stop. Took me awhile to give it a chance because honestly it sounded kind of cheesy and like all the shows now just doing what the masses want .But it's actually really good! Like an after school special but without the cheesiness! I do get a little tired of Callie, she has an annoying giggle (but that's ok cuz it reminds us she's a little girl) and every time she 'thinks' something bad is going to happen, she does something really bad and then her excuse is 'well I thought I wasnt getting adopted!' But to be fair, she's a teenager and that's pretty realistic.. and that kind of is the point of the show.. The only other thing that bothers me is they try too hard to be progressive.. yes, these things should be addressed.. but every single episode was about a transgender, a boy coming out of the closet, a bipolar that tried to commit suicide, a confused girl taking hormones, a school shooting... seems this was the point of the show to make a political statement.. But to take away the 'after school special' feel, these issues were handled realistically and maturely (the kid gets high and tells the mom and she basically says, 'yeah it happens, let me help you deal with that crazy high') It's also a good view into the real life of people, especially foster care kids and addresses how broken the system is. All in all, I love the show. Real life without being too cheesy. I just think it's too much all at once (again, I'm binge watching on netflix like 10 episodes a day, so my fault! Lol)

So cheesy but I can't stay away
28 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Just started season 3. Still rooting for zoe and wade, kinda. She's getting so annoying and showing her selfish true colors at the end of season 2, wade deserves so much better. But, she's the main character and the show wants us to root for her..and they do make a good love story if she would just grow up! Of course, without those issues there wouldn't be a show. So yes I love it even though it's silly and cheesy and I roll my eyes constantly.. we all need that love story

Not finished, but my thoughts so far
21 November 2019
I'm only half way through, but I'm ambivalent about continuing. The cinematography is excellent, I'm so in love with it. The story is good and has captured my attention. But, I'm watching on Netflix with subtitles (I don't know much Spanish). Half of them are missing! I'm only getting half of a conversation and I'm having to figure out the rest. Very frustrating! That's my only complaint so far.

Great until s5

Warning: Spoilers
I love this show, I can't turn it off. However, s5 we see all these flashbacks Ray has of Abby... sorry not sorry.. he treated her like crap, cheated on her, and she was a baddie right back. Now we're supposed to be sad and emotional with ray getting all emotional? Nope, ray wouldn't care except what it did to his kids..

Not surprising, but still good
25 February 2019
Almost from the start I knew who did it. But it was still a good story and well done. The music and sound, the dramatic moments, the main character - all excellent. It kept me interested, especially at the beginning. Close to the end I got a little bored, but still continued. I would watch it again. Now on to Season 2..!
