FUBAR (2023)
Thoroughly enjoyable
I'm very surprised by the mixed reviews this show is getting, apparently you either love it or hate it. I really enjoyed watching every minute of it. Is it somewhat cheesy and predictable? Yup. But it's also funny and the characters and their struggles are relatable (even if you're not a spy yourself;-)). I felt like it was supposed to be a comedy above anything, a little bit of 80's and 90's here and there. I actually loved Arnie here, he definitely aged well and brought new quality to the table. If you're expecting Terminator or a whodunnit mystery you might be disappointed. But if you're looking for something easy yet fun, you may be in for a treat.
El silencio (2023)
Really enjoyable
I actually really liked it! I almost skipped it due to the low imdb rating. If you like fast paced thrillers with a lot of action, this is possibly not the show for you. I can see how someone could find it boring. It's a psychological thriller, a lot of focus on analysing the WHY and trying to figure out why the main character did the things he did and does the things he does. And what made him this way. And the biggest questions of all - is it at all possible to get to the truth and to understand another human being? Are we always rational? Can every action be exaplained? Does every action carry meaning? Those questions are not only about the main character as well. For me it's a great show, I was impressed by the acting and I found the ending intriguing.
Raised by Wolves (2020)
It's Ragnar all over again
It wasn't horrible, it wasn't painful to watch... but it wasn't good at all either. And I felt like I was watching Ragnar Lothbrok all over again, similar story and acting. The series didn't make much sense to me, the plot is a little dull and throughout the series nothing really happens. As a sci-fi fan I'm disappointed.
One of Us (2016)
Unpredictable and interesting
I really enjoyed the acting, the story and all. Some of the people and their actions really made me angry, watching the mini series I felt a whirlwind of emotions ... Why, wait! Stop! Don't do it! Why would you? Meh... nevermind! All in all, apart from a few ridiculous aspects of the plot that we find out at the end... I thorougly enjoyed it.
The Laundromat (2019)
Dunno...
I watched the whole thing, and I can't say it's a bad movie, but... it's not not a great movie either. I did not like the convention, it's weird.
A Cure for Wellness (2016)
Surprisingly enjoyable
Some parts of the plot I still do not understand, but the movie is good, doesn't drag, it's interesting and keeps you guessing until the very end. I agree that the scenery and acting are both great. I do not like horror movies in general (they are rather silly), but this is a proper thriller with some elements of horror, scary at times.
The Last Days of American Crime (2020)
Not good at all :(
I honestly rarely consider watching any movie a waste of time, but it sure was this time round. It dragged forever, I wish I checked the rating before watching for once.
The Wrong Missy (2020)
Really silly and absurd
It's funny, it's ridiculous at times... but the storyline is just absurd and if you expect some sophisticated humour, you won't find it here. I give it 5/10 cause it's half-alright... I watched the whole thing, so... yeah, it's watchable.
Derek (2012)
Makes you laugh, cry and want to be a better person
This series will make you laugh, make you cry and want to be a better person. I enjoyed it so much more than I could have ever imagined. Recommend it to everyone!
Locke & Key (2020)
I enjoyed it alright, but... WHY ON EARTH DIDN'T THEY...
Why... just why didn't they explore any of the opportunities provided by the magic keys? :( So many missed chances, so many plot holes and stupid decisions. They didn't even use those keys to their advantage. They can meet and talk to their ancestor who knew their dad, and they didn't visit him? They could fly, but they didn't? I love the idea and the magical dimention but I feel a little insulted by stupid actions and complete ignorance of the characters. Also, the series seems like all the plots are detached from eachother, everyone is on their own adventure. Mom is dealing with digging into her late husband's past, then Joe's murder while Taylor and Kinsey do their own thing and Bode (who seems the smartest and most reliable) is left out and doesn't know what's going on. And it's Bode who has the information that Taylor and Kinsey really need, so stupid... And the way they let Ellie out with the key needed for the crown to work? Sure... take it to Lucas, I mean... what could go wrong?! And why would she need the key if all she was supposed to do is to bring the crown back to the Key House. The ending isn't really an ending, it's more like the start of the next season, doesn't provide any closure. We still don't know why Rendell didn't tell his wife about his past, who and how removed Duncan's memories... And the way they got fooled by Lucas/Dodge at the end? I mean seriously...? She doesn't have the crown, she is suddenly vurnerable and uncoscious and they carry her without even having to tie her. I mean... how naive are they? The series has incredible potential, I hope season 2 will be better.
Special Correspondents (2016)
Simply alright ;-)
I read the reviews here first and didn't know what to expect. It seemed like reviews were either love or hate with not much inbetween. I didn't find it THAT funny, but the story is enjoyable and it's obvious that it was supposed to be ridiculous and unrealistic at times. It wasn't boring or anything, good acting. All in all, something easy to watch, definitely funny at times.
After Life (2019)
Amazingly bitter-sweet
I'm impressed, loved every minute of every episode! It's funny, sad, deep and leaves you with valuable reflections.
Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014)
No... just no :(
I simply didn't like the movie. I waited for it to get better and to make sense... The camera following people around made me sick, the drums in the background made me agitated. The story is weird and I the ending... oh well. It's a no from me.
