The Boys: The Instant White-Hot Wild (2022)
Fun, Action Packed Final
While not everything was perfect, the fight scenes were fantastic, Soldier Boy was cool and the internal vs external battle that Butcher is having rages on. A moment of humanity on Homelander's part quickly dissolves at a Trump style rally and we're off to the races waiting for the next season. My only hope is there are plenty more seasons to come.
Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood (2019)
Wow was this disappointing
Loved the acting, especially DiCaprio when he's yelling at himself in the mirror or Pitt when he's confronting people high on acid. After that this is a potpourri of things happening with little or no purpose. These were too good of characters to go nowhere. I get people want to love Tarantino because I want to love Tarantino. Just way to much missed opportunity for an almost three hour movie to leave on the table.
Aladdin (2019)
I wish I could rate this higher!
I am so happy this movie exists! Way to go to the fantastic young actors, Guy Ritchie, the crew and Disney. My only criticism is I was really hoping to see a tribute to Robyn Williams but Will Smith was exceptional. 15 minutes into the movie I told my son this was a 10 and that Smith would be the only thing that could screw it up. He did not. Massoud as Aladdin was so so good. Didn't think they could copy the smoothness of his character because this movie wasn't animated but they found a way. The real star in the movie was Naomi Scott though. She brought Jasmine from a really cool Disney Princess to a heroine that has a great new song of empowerment and standing up when everyone around her is telling her to be quiet. This is a wonderful movie that should be in award consideration. Take your daughters.
Game of Thrones: The Long Night (2019)
Arya
People on here bitching about the Night King's Build up should rejoice in little Stark's rise from curious child to ice cold killing machine. This episode was great and yeah I wanted to see the Snow vs Night King battle too but why would the Night King do that? He is a strategist too and he was winning the battle in every conceivable way. It was great to have a hero and to you that just want the main characters to die you still have three episodes left for that.
The Twilight Zone: A Traveler (2019)
Feel like you missed something but it was to bad to rewatch
That was not fun. Don't want to give away spoilers but I will say one thing to help possible viewers; don't waste your time. I was so excited for this show but the show has been bad. Great actors and promising ideas but it feels to me, they wrap it and no one is watching the final product. It's been bad, please fix it, their is still time.
Game of Thrones: The Laws of Gods and Men (2014)
Peter Dinklage at his best!
As good as any show gets, I don't think Tyrion Lannister finally shouting his frustrations at his father, sister and the whole of Westeros beats it all. You really feel the weight on his shoulders and then the break as his beloved Shae testifies lies at him. Jamie proves to be a loving brother but it is not enough. Honestly, this episode is even better watching it multiple times.
Pitch (2016)
This is Us' equally amazing sister
This show was well written, believable and very well shot. The music was exciting and the stakes felt real. The cast is fantastic and Dan Fogelman really makes us root for Ginny Baker to succeed and for Zack Morris with a beard and the less grumpy dad from the Wonder Years to win!
