The Creator (2023)
Shallow story with nice special effects
I was quite disappointed by story as it simply felt not well thought through and that they were just throwing in the scenes to show nice visuals.
Characters are shallow and you don't feel any connection to them and what is happening to them at any point of time. Transition of main character is completely illogical and it seems forced... bad guys are really stereotypical and cartoonish that at some point it felt funny. Main military asset not being protected at all because hey... who does that.
Bottom line once the movie finally ended I didn't feel anything except that movie is bad but the visual effects are nice.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
Shockingly bad
I don't know where to start, literally everything was bad, acting, story, visuals, camera, you name it - yes, it was bad!
During the whole movie I was trying to get into the story, connect with characters... Impossible. Even the actors, camera and how the movie was shot was looking like some amateur fan project where they tried to do matrix sequel on very limited budget.
When the movie finally finished (I watched it from 3 attempts, I had to make myself to finish) there was nothing memorable about it and I was just relieved I can cross it over my list.
Word of advice - don't watch this, even if that inner voice is telling you "it can't be that bad", don't listen to it, it can and it is!!
Do yourself a favour and watch the original again and enjoy!
Fear Street: 1994 (2021)
Do not watch, there is bad and than there is this... movie
Snakes in the plane is masterpiece for this movie!
No story, action is just bad and could have been easily avoided, focus on shallow love story between 2 main characters who need to stay alive no matter the cost... anyway do yourself a favour and skip this 💩
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
Star Wars on Steroids
This is not Star Trek at all. Despite my best efforts I couldn't make myself to watch further than season 1.
In summary this has nothing to do with Star Trek, it makes me wonder if writers ever watched a single ST episode or movie??
Special effects are not what makes a tv series good.
Greyhound (2020)
Good movie about hardships while crossing Atlantic
I read some of the reviews people complaining about characters missing background stories etc. Personally I found that as plus especially because the movie portrays the story from captain's perspective and the hardship/burden of being responsible for whole convoy and making hard decisions with consequences.
Tom Hanks, the man is brilliant actor!
Quo vadis, Aida? (2020)
Really good movie about genocide in Europe
You can really feel the agony of the main character while trying to save her family from "new age Nazi's" that were committed to their ethnic cleansing idea. Especially because they did it on all occupied areas just like Nazi's did.
I found especially difficult to watch the scene where UN is delivering Aida's children sticking to "procedure" while choosing to ignore their destiny just to save their own skin.
It's almost unbelievable that this was happening in Europe on the end of 20th century while one could say that memories of ww2 are still fresh.
All war criminals should be prosecuted regardless on nationality. All lives matter regardless on their nationality, religion or race.
The end of the movie portrays that perfectly, where the war criminal has everything, a family and happy life (even Aida's apartment) while Aida has nothing and is "forced" to live only to hold the memory for her love ones she lost.
Even though prosecution of the war criminal would not return her family but at least society would condemn this kind of behaviour and maybe it would make someone somewhere think twice knowing that even in war you are accountable for your actions.
I also think that UN officers should have been prosecuted as well since their failed to fulfil their duty and protect the civilians.
One can only hope that politicians (all ex yu nations) will finally stop twisting history for their personal gain and let people to heal and start living their lives far from hatred.
The Expanse (2015)
Must see
Brilliant show, I love attention to detail and I hope they will continue with excellent job in season 6. I also hope they will not be forced to rush to end it as this has such a layered story it could easily need 3 more seasons to tell it properly (I'm writing this on end of season 5).
Christmas Wedding Planner (2017)
Booooooooring
We need to invent new category/genre for this movie as "trash movie" title would be an achievement for this movie.
The I-Land (2019)
Worth watching
This show doesn't deserve such a low grade. Concept is ok and it's engaging enough with good message. The show is not perfect but it's not bad at all. In the end you reflect on the message (what is good) and you are not sorry for watching it.
El hoyo (2019)
Missed potential, don't watch it
Concept was promising but the movie simply didn't deliver as there were too many inconsistencies.
They had opportunity to save it a bit if in the end of the movie the message was panna cotta instead of the girl.
Imagine panna cotta reaching the top. Management is stunned, there is one hair in it, they flip out on the cooks how could this happen completely missing the point of the message. The end!
Instead, you'll get pointless gross scenes as nothing is really connected. Yes you can find metaphors in what the hole and whole concept represents (for you) but in reality movie fails to deliver any of it.
The Queen's Gambit (2020)
Predictable, shallow and unbelievable
Don't expect a great show and you'll be sort of ok but in the end you'll be sorry you've spent your time on it.
My recommendation is to skip it.
Gringo (2018)
Recommendation
Positively surprised I thought it will be just another American comedy but it turned out to be a fun movie with twists. I gave it a 10 to correct injust low grade - I recommend.
The Man from U.N.C.L.E. (2015)
Refreshing action/comedy - watch it!
Great movie!
Even though you know good guys are always on top of things, their journey is fun and interesting, you can relate with characters (acting is great) and you have fun while watching it.
You will even catch couple of quotes ;)
Everything is properly stylised, costumes, interiors, cars... Scenes are memorable, all main characters are likeable, soundtrack is great... well, you get the picture - just watch this movie! You will not regret it!
A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding (2018)
How to kill brain cells in 92 minutes
If you have brain cells to spare, I highly recommend this movie. It will do wonderful job for you..
I think that the best part of the movie was when a journalist princess did the investigation and when she wrote "fishy" on piece of paper. I mean, she would probably forget that something is fishy so I think that was really good and intelligent thing to do!
Btw. who would want to be princess in this age? Even more in some Aldovia (who is making up this names?? Did you notice that all kingdoms are ending up with "ovia"? Maybe that is a definition of magical place; like kingdom of Poopovia)
Furthermore, who ever came up with original personality of princess "fishy" father
should get a "Poopovia" reward for best character or at least a nominee. Great stuff.
The Princess Switch (2018)
Princess, Switch Off
Q: Is Belgravia a real country?
A: Sure is, Belgrade!
Q: Is Montenaro a real country?
A: Sure is! It's Montenegro!
Well that's about all what is interesting and fun about this movie. Maybe if there was a border dispute in nearby kingdom of Kosovia that would be only believable thing in this "masterpiece" movie.
The Spirit of Christmas (2015)
Great movie if you can't fell asleep
If you don't want to use sleep pills just watch this movie - I highly recommend it!
