Fighter (2024)

Good production quality, but Bollywood ruined it

I was surprised with the shooting, getting actual Sukhoi fighter jets in the movie, but the bollywood scenes ruined the movie.

1. Hrithik Roshan, being a pilot, does not have a rank. His uniform lacks any indication of rank, no stars, no stripes, no shoulder straps at all. While his seniors have.

2. Hrithik Roshan being a pilot, is also briefing the PM/Defence Minister.

3. Seniors (Anil Kapoor) and Hrithik Roshan losing their cools, shouting, no discipline.

4. Anil Kapoor doing missions on AWS, while being a senior and should have been at HQ.

5. When there us a radar lock, then the plane are locked into position and does not respond. When radar is disengaged, only then planes respond.

6. Pak F16s are green in colour 😅, and pilots are wearing eyeliners.

7. Pak F16s come to India and bomb Indian military targets, but don't allow to cross LOC.

8. All Heros doing slow motion walks 9. Zero logic, Anil Kapoor hitting below the belt.

10. Item Songs 💃🏻 11. Love story angle

This movie could have been great, but bollywood ruined and star studded cast who just want to look cool, say cool dialogues ruined the whole thing. Give chances to new actors who know acting.

Thats why movie couldn't stay in the Theatres and moved to Netflix.

Sam Bahadur (2023)

Brilliant acting and story

I was asking myself again and again during the movie. Is this Vicky Kaushal??? He has acted and portrayed the character Sam Bahadur so brilliantly.

This is a must watch story of Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw and it dives into the Independence of Bengal.

The story takes you through the formative years of Sam, his service during World War 2, his injury and at a leadership level in the Army to his retirement.

His callousness with the Ministers and addressing them as a minister or defence minister and prime minister instead of ma'am and sir, sets the tone that you are a politician and an elected leader, while he is in the Army and he knows what he is doing.

It was sad to learn that his Pension was stopped (on his retirement) by the then Prime Minister in 1973, although it has not been covered in the movie, and was later restarted after President Abdul J Kalam learnt of it in 2007... after 34 years.

Do watch the movie!!!

Maamla Legal Hai (2024– )

Brilliant show

What a brilliant show, it has amazing script with good character development, even the background characters acted beautifully, they had their own script.

Every scene had something happening in the background, which goes to show how beautifully the script was written and how direction took place.

Even when the protagonist wrote Egregious in Hindi, the note showed him miss spelling the word starting with an A, and the cutting over it to write the pronunciation in Hindi.

The way things have been argued, all the nooks and canny of indian law procedure and the politics around it. Brilliant, absolutely brilliant.

Plus I finished the whole season non-stop in one day.

Pippa (2023)

Pippa - India has all the stories to talk- but no good writer&director

The movie is americanised. The dialogues, accent, the lingo used by military personnel is all americanised. I am actually thinking, what american shows were they watching to learn such things or is these some American Training on how to hollywood style, also with guitar and drums playing in the background.

And then we have bollywood masala or songs and dance numbers.

If you are building a war movie, then build a war movie... why put all this bollywood magic masala and old formula. I was just waiting for some item number to pop up.

Instead, they could have dove deeper into the politics of it, the history of East Pakistan, Bangladesh, Mukti Bahini.

Adipurush (2023)

An amazing opportunity lost

I watched the movie on Netflix.

The movie starts with a min long disclaimer reading about creative liberties and how they want the audience to keep an open mind.

Thats goes to show, the writers and directors know they effed up due to the reaction of the audience.

But I kept an open mind, enjoying every aspect of the movie, but yes, at times it was difficult.

They writers could have explored the journey of their vanwaas than just concentrating on the last year or so with their encounter of Ravan. They could have also explored the divine weapons, but Bhramastra was occurred only once.

The infamous Pushpak Viman was shown 3-4times on screen, but Ravan decides to use a Bat.

In choice of actors, Kriti Sanaon and Saif Ali Khan did an excellent job, given the characters.

Prabhas I believe was a wrong choice to depict Ram. Prabhas brought the same character of Bahubhali to this movie. When Ram is supposed to show divinity and wisdom, which translated into a warrior. He displayed arrogance at times, and was more concerned with dialogue delivery.

The visual effects were way bad, with this day and age, such beginner stuff is not expected. Right from the first scene, the effects were bad.

Even the monkey army which was designed was just copy and paste.

The characters that they inserted. The Rakshas looked like ogres, some initial ones looked like Dementors. But atleast they sent a good message, when they showed one rakshas flossing his teeth!!!

Overall the movie should have been a series or atleast in 2-3 parts, where they could have explored the Ramayan, and a huge missed opportunity. The script writer should have interviewed experts, and the dialogue writer should have stuck to nice dialogues depicting knowledge and divinity than chapripan.

Major (2022)

Not a good tribute to Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan

So the movie has

1. Factual inaccuracies 2. Overdramatised action sequences 3. Over-emotions and so much of slow motion.

4. Super human powers that both the soldiers and terrorists have.

5. All dialogues are spoken in a single tone.

6. NSG commandoes are disobeying orders, having a negative mindset, pathetic strategy.

7. Bullets don't run out.

8. Characters have confused personalities.

9. Did not even mention Nariman House.

10. NSG commandoes are also supervising Nursing staff and conveying about welfare of hostages.

11. Uninspired dialogue delivery.

I hate how most bollywood directors ruin such stories and I actually hope that NSG sues the director and producers of this movie.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022– )

Good, but not great

Good to see more of star trek, but its not a series series at all.

The way Capt. Pike acts, his overly blown expressions (like trying to make it obvious)... he loses the seriousness of being a captain.

This looks like it was aimed at teenagers than the adult fans who have been watching Star Trek for decades.

Star Trek: Voyager (1995–2001)

One of the best Star Trek Series

I have watched the whole series multiple times. And I believe this is one of the best Star Trek series ever produced.

The way the characters were built, all of them stay with you.

Dexter: New Blood (2021–2022)

Pathetic storyline

Dexter being from Miami Metro Homicide, should have known that all evidence was circumstantial and nothing will stick, infact the DA won't touch it.

As for the jumping to conclusion, the Chief of police would have been demoted or fired.

Still it showed that Dexter Panicked, and killed a cop to escape.

And the last episode, getting his own son to kill him... pathetic ending to a masterpiece.

'83 (2021)

Ovaries exploding

So much useless melodrama put in the movie.

Pregnant women delivering a baby, asking for score.

Young sachin screaming to know the score Pakistan doing ceasefire for the finals (omg I love Pakistan, thanks liberals for putting love u Pakistan scene) Protests between two religions communities being stopped because of cricket.

The movie is sometimes quite boring... could hv been better directed and written.

State of Siege: Temple Attack (2021)

So many loopholes in the movie

Waste of an opportunity to showcase the actual events.

Plus so many loopholes in the movie

1. The CM does not have its own assigned Z plus security. The visiting NSG are guarding the CM.

2. The NSG head guy does not have decision making capabilities.

3. The captured terrorists is released without any confirmation if hostages are being released.

4. There is no negotiator on site.

5. Weak acting by everyonec.

Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017)

The Epic continues

I rewatched Bahubali, although the CGI graphics are sometimes weak and there is unnecessary musical dance items, I also did not like the stupid humour that was inserted when the protagonist acted like dumb fools.

The graphics in the first song in just absolutely mind-blowing, and actually look like they are out of a Hindu Religion Epic.

You also need a different mindset to consume these kinds of movies, If the movie is consumed as an Epic, with boasted story lines and action scenes, then this becomes an amazing movie that will give you goosebumps.

Those comparing the movie to Avatar and LOTR, please compare the cost of production of the movies as well.

Baahubali: The Beginning (2015)

An Epic

You also need a different mindset to consume these kinds of movies, If the movie is consumed as an Epic, with boasted story lines and action scenes, then this becomes an amazing movie that will give you goosebumps.

Those comparing the movie to Avatar and LOTR, please compare the cost of production of the movies as well.

Mumbai Diaries (2021– )

Bad dialogue delivery, bad acting, fake story of the attacks

This is doing injustice to what happened and to the medical staff at the Hospitals.

No composed doctors, police force or media, everybody is panic stricken and everyone shouts.

Fake story, two terrorist surviving, Tukaram bravery not shown, just shown as a gullible victim who approached the terrorist, thinking that they were dead.

Angrezi Medium (2020)

A forced plot

This movie has a forced plot and has a lot of inconsistencies and one important message.

Let me start with the important message

1. Communication is the key: if the father had told his daughter regarding the admission and fee requirements, then the movie would have ended there and then or even later when they were ready to spend £300,000 for admission.

And now for the inconsistency

1. Movie talks about honesty and hard work, but the plot is made around purchasing a seat through donation and not hard work or honesty.

2. Doing Hawala transfer of £300,000... what was the need? Can't money obtained through legal means be wired to the university for donation purposes. Why hawala is being done?

3. How daft are the British, they don't have a translator at the airport? Hindi is widely spoken language and many people in Britain also speak hindi. If there was a translator, then not all the stupid stuff of getting a pak passport and all that was needed.

You don't need to add so twists and rollercoaster rides.

Hindi Medium was far better than this movie.

Leila (2019– )

Amazing

While this is a dystopian writing... the release of this and the political leaning of the left is quite obvious. This is similar to what the left is speaking about the country and hence there are a lot of low ratings. Words such as "Bhakt" are also used.

Ignoring the above, the story is quite gripping and the dialogue delivery is mind blowing.

One should definitely watch this, without thinking too much or trying to tie knots between the story and the present propaganda that is being spread by some of the corrupt political parties.

The Office (2019– )

Gets better in the later part of series

While this is a re-make, I believe that in later part of the series... episode 7,8 onwards, there is considerable improvement in the series. In the dialogue quality, in acting, and directing There is quite a good character development. Earlier I had given it 3 stars... now changing to 8 stars.

So far watched 13 episodes... looking forward to more.

Then there is a mix of politics of putting nationalism, politics and hidutva that the Dwight character plays... and this haryanvi character on Pam's fiancé, Parmeet... is like a gunda and his behaviour would not even survive in any office place.

And then there is a confusing culture that is incorporated in the show, its a mix of american and indian.

One can relate to this, because they have the US show... otherwise it is a pretty hopeless

Delhi Crime (2019– )

Gripping Story, Amazing Acting and dialogue delivery

This is yet another master piece by Netflix. The story telling is great, the dialogues delivery and lines are amazing and the working of the Delhi Police is so realistic.

A must watch.

What is going on in this new seriers?

The character is a mess, there is no personality of the doctor except for the small antics. The stories are beginning in the middle of no where, the dialogues are cheesey.

The whole series, the characters, the storyline is completely messed up and I hate what is happening to my loved series. The director, the stroy writer.. what are you people doing? Where are the cybermen, the daleks, the time-lords... nothing seems to be connecting.

BoJack Horseman: Free Churro (2018) Season 5, Episode 6

Best episode ever

The way the episode unfolded. He ranting about his mother and then showing signs of heartbreak. This episode was pretty emotional and it made me sad to the point of crying.

This was a 26min episode of just talking, but it didn't feel long. Infact i felt this was only a 15min episode.

Justice League (2017)

It was a letdown

I was really excited about the movie, but for reason, I could not go to the theatre to watch it. I watched it on Amazon Prime Videos.

Initially the movie was really exciting, but the character development was really bad, the storyline weak, the lame jokes. It took me 3 turns to finish the movie, because I kept on going to sleep. With Gal Gadot on the telly, and I keep going to sleep. Can you actually imagine how bad the movie was made for, for this to happen.

Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran (2018)

Based on a great true story...but director and story writer screwed it up

There are some movies which are made on stories that you would be great. But somehow the work that goes in is so amateurish that you feel like hitting someone.

Parmanu is one such movie. You have great facts and actual story fit in, but the way some dialogue exchanges, some initial chapter of John's personal life, the interview letter, offering of appointment letter while saying its a classified covert mission, introducing an hearthrob actress and then the hero antics of John's character and how the CIA and ISI are made to look unprofessional, how the casual way of saying gun is locked etc. what I call the whole bollywood mix and mot actually making it into a thriller that it could be is a serious waste of script.

There were many posts on facebook that said Parmanu did not do well as what Sanju did. Well it was not about the patriotism, it was about the weak script.
