Cobra Kai (2018)
This is great!
I can't believe how much I loved this show. It captures all the heart and feeling of the original movie and actually adds to the story in a thoughtful way. The acting is excellent and the kids steal the program. If this is the golden age of Television, this show actually bridges the gap between now and one of the best eras of Hollywood Movies. I can't wait for season 2.
After the Sunset (2004)
This may be the worst heist movie ever made...
Why is it that people think the audience will buy the idea that jewel thieves live like millionaire playboys. That they rob FBI agents in broad daylight in front of tons of people, that they will break into a unbreakable vault while tons of people are watching them. This movie is just silly, and the worst part is that the screen writers try to weave a even sillier love story into it. A perfect example of trying to do to many things at once. Don't waste your time. For a much better example of this type of film, check out the wonderful Thomas Crown Affair or To Catch a Thief. God even the Pink Panther movies have more thought to them.
Die Hard (1988)
Greatest action film of all time..
Sometimes when you have the right actors, the right director, the right story and the film hits at the right time ... you have a masterpiece. That's why a great movie like this is so rear. It seems like every year we have less and less classic movies coming out of Hollywood. Don't believe me? Look at how many great movies where made in 50's versus the 90's. You count em up! Anyhow, in my opinion this and "Raiders Of The Lost Ark" are the greatest action movies ever made. Why do I love Die Hard so much? I guess because the film isn't about CGI effects and merchandise. It's a story about one man in an terrible situation who uses his intelligence to beat the odds. Good stuff!
The Brady Bunch Movie (1995)
Much better then you would expect
A smart script, with a solid group of actors and some clever direction makes this not just a tribute to the classic TV show, but a parody of modern comedies. In some ways its actually a little too smart for its intended audience, but still worth while.
Shakespeare in Love (1998)
Brilliant!!!
This movie is excellent. One of the smartest, most creative and fun movies I have seen in years. After seeing this movie it changed my opinion of romantic comedies, and since then I have found a whole new appreciation for Shakespeare.
Goodfellas (1990)
Greatest ganster movie ever made.
For some The Godfather was the greatest gangster movie ever made. For me it is hands down, Goodfellows. Why? Because not only do we see what the world of a made man is really like, we get to experience it too. Simply brillant.
