This series is excellent. Good acting, good writing and they cancel it with a cliffhanger. Come on people!!!

Artemis Fowl

I am usually a fan of Kenneth Branagh's work. This movie is the exception. I have been a fan of the books for many years and was looking forward to this movie. It didn't follow the story at all. It was a movie based on characters created by Eoin Colfer. However, unless you read the books I don't think you would understand the nature of Artemis Fowl's character. He is supposed to be a child prodigy and a criminal mastermind, but you wouldn't know it by watching the movie except Artemis has to actually state he's a criminal mastermind but never actually participates in any criminal activity or does anything to make you realize he is a mastermind.
Butler is supposed to be the bad ass of all bad asses and his first name is supposed to be a secret. This guy just looks like a fat guy in a suit who is confused about what is going on around him.
I could go on and on about how they ruined all the characters in this film. If I were Eoin Colfer I would be highly disappointed in how they butchered my story and very upset knowing no other movies would be made after this flop.
The articles I read about Eoin's comments on how he approves of some of the changes before the movies was released were probably made as to not offend Disney to preserve future dealings.
Not sure when Hollywood is going to figure out people want to see the author's story on the big screen not a director's vision of the same story.
With only a few exceptions, the books are always better than the movie.
