The Immaculate Room (2022)
Another "connected to the biz actor".
The storyline had potential, however the acting decimated any potential for great success. The editing, lighting, script and cinematography are excellent.
Kate Bosworth's acting ability, unfortunately outshined her co-star's first-year-drama-student level of acting ability of Emile Hirsch. A third of the way through, it becomes obvious that something is going to need to pick-up, and hold the viewers attention sooner than later.
The leading man's 5'7" stature and bio, confirm and explain his connection to Hollywood and his parents connection to the business.
With the abundance of talented actors in Hollywood alone, it seems unfortunate that we keep being force-fed actors (with different levels of expertise in their acting abilities) that inhabit the film industry, based on their familial relationships alone.
Until that next unknown and unconnected great actor comes along, we'll simply have to settle for what the industry dishes out.
Don't Look Up (2021)
Interesting Premise - Weak Story Line
Compiling a huge a-list set of actors cannot, and will never, make a good movie on it's own.
Plot is lathered in cliches, and the writing is weak. Its a long 2 plus hours.
Katie Says Goodbye (2016)
Supberb Acting
Real life, raw, engaging, and sometimes painful storyline. This movie is an excellent example of what can be done with a simple story, great actors, a believable story, and good editing. I look for these gems that often get overlooked by mainstream moviegoers.
It Comes at Night (2017)
Good Acting...
...however, it's too slow. I'm not an action, adventure, bang-bang shooter up film enthusiast. In fact, I desparately search for good story lines and character development, but this one is just slow, and a bit cliche. Actors did their jobs.
