Still Game (2002–2019)
Absolutely Brilliant
15 April 2004
Still Game is a smashing comedy. Being English, a bit of Translation is necessary, but if you get past that, it's a cracking show.

Some of the laughs are obvious, some are more dry wit. It's a good comedy that improves each time you watch. Jack and Victor are solid likeable characters, who deal with the problems of being old. Aided by Winston, Tam, Isa, Navid and Bobby.

A funny harmless comedy. Take it for what it is.

I can understand why it's not everyone's cup of tea. My wife doesn't like it, but I have friends who do. It's very subjective, and I'd encourage people to give it a go. It's quite unfair of reviews to tell you to avoid a show. You should try it.

Chewin the Fat is also a favourite of mine. Funny sketches, again a bit of translation necessary.

Very Good Movie
15 August 2003
I didn't want this film to end, there can be no greater compliment.

I thought it started off well, the restaraunt scene was a superb start, very quick out of the blocks. It then slowed to a crawl, with just a couple moments of acceleration. The early Stiffler stuff was forced and came off poorly. The Gay bar dance scene did nothing for me also.

The scene with the dogs was excellent and after the bar scene, this movie picked up and took off. The next 40-50 minutes were laugh out loud funny, well pieced together and very touching in parts.

I didn't think the missing actors were missed. Tara Ried was dull as dishwater in AP2, and Mena Suvari (sp?) and Chris Klein weren't needed.

Jim pulled off his role as usual, Michelle was inconsistent but overall came off well and Jim's Dad was great as usual. Kevin took a background role, which was necessary while Finch took a more starring role and carried it off well. The casting of Michelle's sister was terrific.

The decision to make Stiffler the feature role looked dodgy as hell after half an hour, but turned out ok. It almost seemed like Sean Scott-Williams took some time to get back into the role.

Overall, not as good as the first 2 (but what sequels ever are?) but a very funny film and a satisfactory addition (conclusion?) to the AP family. Having watched some rubbish lately, like the abysmal Old School, where the film tries to play off shock value alone, American Pie is very refreshing. Shock Value? sure, but supported by good story telling, good acting, casting, writing, beautiful women, handsome men and loveable, funny characters.

I echo the Sherminator sentiment, but I really missed Stiffler's brother.

To address a comment from someone earlier. They said they hated the first 2, but watched this one anyway. If you didn't like the first 2, why would you watch this one? And why would you come online to bash a film you never intended to like?

American Pie aims at a certain person. And as a 23 year old male, it was right up my street. Although my Wife is also a massive fan of the trilogy.

8/10 for Me.
