Animal (2023)
In a world where there are no Cops
Only if the director had established that he has set a movie where Cops and Media (except cnbc) doesn't exist, he would have justified his bizarre artistic license he rendered in creating this mess of a movie which tries hard to be at the league of Sin City and Kill Bill.
Horribly edited with unnecessary scenes included and important links missed out, the movie flows so abruptly that even an amateur editor would laugh at this blunder of a work.
Only the action choreographer and the director of photography are worth some applause as they did a great job.
While, Ranbir. Kapoor and Bobby Deol gave their 100%, yet the director failed in carving a memorable character persona, primary reason being that the director just couldn't decide whether his protagonist is an out and out a pshyco or a normal guy with anger issues.
So, the result is a mix of Michael Corleone and Sharukh Khan's character in Darr. Is Ranbir Kapoor an obsessed lover or an intelligent sane man who secures the legacy of his large-scale business family strategically, the director just doesn't know and he doesn't care and takes the story wherever he wants in a way that makes the audience uncomfortable to relate to the character let alone the situations where he kills hundreds of men in broad daylight with no alert to police and no propaganda by the media.
The movie's hype is the larger than life getaway mood for the audience, but the lack of sensibility and bad editing couldn't save the movie and lands it as a forgettable blockbuster.
The Killer (2023)
Solid Film!
Watched the movie last night and found it to be a refreshing cinematic experience. Despite some reviews labeling the movie as boring, it's important to note that this film isn't your typical Jason Statham-style action-packed summer blockbuster. Instead, it's smart, sleek, and maintains a strong tempo throughout. While some might find the pacing slow, it meticulously delves into the thought process of a proficient assassin, illustrating how he makes calculated, intelligent decisions while staying composed.
The action sequences are too goods, and the story, though simple, captivates with its gripping revenge plot, leaving you eager for more. All of this is presented in a style reminiscent of David Fincher's work. The ending might not resonate with everyone, but it's crafted for the thinking audience - it feels perfect and justified.
My advice? Don't let negative reviews dissuade you. 'The Killer' is a unique and comprehensive entertainer that offers something special.
The Wolf Hour (2019)
The Rob Hour - The Robbing Movie
....No no, its not a movie about Robbery. The Movie Robs! It Robs YOU. It robs your 2 hours of life. Because its a amateurish pretentious crap made by a director desperate to do some artsy-fartsy stuff and fails miserably.
Nothing happens in the movie. Nothing happens. Literally Nothing happens. All you see is the lead character smoking, sleeping, attending door calls.
Oh...and no, its not even a Character study or anything like Acting galore kind of off-beat stuff. It fails miserably even as Character study because its way too inconsistent and the acting is nothing very special.
Save yourself and time from this horrible movie.
Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (2017)
Star *Magic* Wars: The new rules of 'Force'
Time for new rules of Force: Whatever the writer/director wants it to be!
Star Wars now have telepathic communication, telekinetic tangibility, telepathic projection and lots of telepathy. The movie is least a sci-fi and more a Disney fairy tale fantasy.
Princess Leia gets expelled into the Vacuum of space and freezes to like death(?) and her frozen body is floating in that vacuum of space and then suddenly her eyes opens and she stretches one of her arm, and like a superman, she dives her way back to the ship. Even worse than nuking the fridge. This by far is the most embarrassing movie moment in the history of blockbuster cinema.
A spaceship literally breaks up into two parts and there's no air escape and two characters literally jump off into vacuum of space and yet survives.
I think Star Wars franchise can now tie up with Lord of the Rings universe.
Rian Johnson wouldn't have even realized that he is making a mockery of a great franchise.
He introduces a sub-plot which solves no purpose at all and consumes almost 1/4th of the screen time.
The previous film ended with Rey finding Luke Skywalker. What happens among them in the film? Nothing. Yes, nothing. Just stupid babbling. The most mediocre and amateurishly directed drama between two characters in the history of cinema.
Still, the movie's central focus is how Rey and Kyle tele--communicates with each other while they are millions of miles away from each other. Magic!
An abomination!
Murder of a promising sequel.
Unforgivable at all costs.
I'm sure Disney didnt even recruit a script doctor.
Finally, we have Luke Skywalker projecting his image (not a Hologram) on a planet possibly light-years away and fighting the bad guys. Whoa! Disney magic!
They forgot to introduce Cinderella and Snow white!
I hope the Episode IX literally ignores these Rian Johansanese Fairy Tale Fantasy Rules and give a serious sci-fi cinema with subtle references to the power of 'force'.
