Mr. Monk's Last Case: A Monk Movie (2023)
What in the #!?&@ was that?
I almost have no words to say about how horrible this movie was. After a hard day at work, my husband and I were excited to sit down and watch this movie filled with some laughs, some mystery and familiarity with the characters. What we watched was such a huge disappointment that I wish I could have my time back!!! Talk about a depressing downer! The whole thing was so dark when it came to mental health struggles,. Who wants to be reminded every chance they got that their favorite character is plotting to kill himself throughout the whole movie. And the stepdaughter, whose fiancé was killed, was so ridiculously not grieving, or even upset that her fiancé just plunged to his death was just ignorant. She was smiling and happy, and didn't even look like somebody who had lost the love of their life. The whole thing was terrible acting with a terrible plot a terrible attempt at trying to make what was really a great series into a movie. Honestly don't waste your time you'll walk away disappointed.
The Upside (2017)
What the hell was this?
My god, does Hollywood know how to screw up an amazing film or what? The Upside version of the brilliant Intouchables (original) simply pales in comparison. Terribly miscast and forced, it lacks heart and soul and deep mesmerizing performances. This is like the fast food of films... you think it's a good idea but after you finish you have stomach ache and are left unsatisfied. Do yourself a huge favor and watch the real movie with Omar Sy.. then prepared to be blown away!!!!
The Upside should stay upside down and Hollywood should get some real creativity instead of screwing up perfect foreign films.
Persuasion (2022)
Don't pay attention to naysayers!
It may not be a "traditional" version of Jane Austen's book BUT just because it is different does not mean that it is bad. We enjoyed the fresh cast and spin on how it was narrated! Acting was excellent and if you can go into it with any preconceived notion's or expectations then you will it very well done!
Hollywood Houselift with Jeff Lewis (2022)
Best of Jeff Lewis!!!!
Still funny, quirky, neurotic and fun! Not as chaotic and frenzied which is such a FABULOUS change! Wish there were 100 more episodes!!!!!! His eye for design and passion for houses is contagious! Love the clients and his staff! I. Ant believe that that is Andrew in a more calm state! Lots of laughs!
Spread (2009)
Insightful and intelligent! Loved it!
I don't know who said this was a comedy but this is a very thought provoking, inside look into the majority of celebrity wannabes. It was well written and packs one than one punch to the gut. Realistic and sobering, it will stay with you.
Copenhagen (2014)
Brilliant!!!!
This is easily one of the most beautiful, thought-provoking, heartfelt, compelling and deep stories I've seen. This was beautifully written and directed and the acting is superb. I am so glad that I stumbled upon it and didn't listen to anybody's critical thoughts about it because it is absolutely stunning.
Broken Roads (2012)
What was the point?
This was so predictable and melodramatic I could not stop rolling my eyes! The main character screamed so much it was ridiculous... the grandma character was INCONSISTENT. She finds out she has a grandson whose mom (her daughter) just was killed in an accident & she gets mad at him for not telling her his name??? He was traumatized and she locks him out until dark??? WTH??? Then she's all nice to him. Soooo bad. Save your time and money! Skip it!
