Music Box: Woodstock 99: Peace, Love, and Rage (2021)
Great documentary for GenX
I was 24 in '99 and remember this event being on the news everywhere. I was shocked by the footage coming out. I'm a hip hop fan so the music at woodstock 99 didn't really interest me although I knew the names of the artists. I believe the failure lies at the top and trickled down. No respect for the concertgoer's. Not sure why some reviewers are upset that the documentary focuses on white men because as I'm watching the footage all I see are white men fighting, burning and just destroying everything in sight. I knew it was bad but the producers ultimately deserve the blame here.
The Unsettling (2019)
This is just bad
If you want to do something else while this is on like vaccum, cut the grass, do your taxes then you're in for a treat. Bad acting all around here. What happened to Gran? She does a final jump scare and is then instantly forgotten. Why doesn't the dad care for Elder Issac? What's the backstory? The fake evil Damien type kid Dominic, who suddenly cares about the teens in the final episode but was a nasty little bully to Becca in all the previous episodes.now he magically cares. Why? We'll never know. We never learn anything about the other kids backgrounds just Becca and that isn't saying much as it adds absolutely nothing and I mean nothing to this story. No one can even properly emote. This show wouldn't scare a 7 yr old with all these plot holes.
Evil Lives Here: In Love with the Devil (2016)
Brave Daughter
How do you have your husband confess to murder, keep his secret for eight years, have children with him, let him beat on the children and if it hadn't been for your daughter calling the cops you would have never left. As she sits there like she did anything to protect those kids. Absolutely disgusting.
Mara (2018)
For basic horror movie fans
This was your typical paint by numbers horror movie with sleep paralysis as the catalyst. Add in characters who don't believe in ghosts, a protagonist who's being affected by something clearly supernatural but doesn't believe she really is, the one person who does know the truth. Blah, blah it's basic horror and not for true horror movie addicts and fans. You can do great psychological horror but this movie is not it.
Leokki (2016)
Top Notch Comedy
I'm a sucker for South Korean movies and this was such a gem to watch. I don't usually do the switcheroo/body swap movies but I'm so glad I watched this.
The running joke that the assassin, Hyung-Wook was 32 years old cracked me up every single time. It never got old. His succeeding at acting and his attempts at smiling was gold. Too many great scenes for me to list but I never wanted a hired killer to succeed so much. Some of the parts with Jae-Sung did drag a bit but this comedy as a whole was enough to overcome it.
It's a must watch.
