Severance: The We We Are (2022)
Season 1, Episode 9
10/10
The King of all Cliffhangers
9 April 2022
One of the best season finales of all time-period. It is edited and directed to perfection, keeping you in suspense the whole episode. Time ticks away for each "innie" protagonist as they undergo mind-blowing revelations. It is impossible to not empathize and root for each character up until the last second.

I was hoping there would be one or two more episodes to cap off this season, because I think they could've neatly wrapped up the story without the need for a second season-less is more when you're making a statement piece. But, Severance has become such a strong show for Apple TV that they'd be stupid not to renew it.

Absolutely cannot wait for Season 2!

The credits were scarier than the movie itself
7 June 2021
I enjoyed the credits more than the movie itself, not even joking.

The plot line overall is great, but the direction is conventional and relies on standard tropes. This instalment lacks the slow burn its predecessors possessed. I sincerely hope James Wan returns to direct for future movies.

I love Wilson and Farmiga as a pairing in this franchise; I would still recommend this movie based on their performances.

"Ringer" is solid

Warning: Spoilers
After the second episode, I've developed more confidence in this series. The pilot made me very skeptical, particularly the poorly rendered CGI screens and typical broken family situations. As we approach the end of the pilot, serious conflict begins to unravel as Bridget adopts Siobhan's identity.

The second episode simply got me wanting more. Bridget is gradually digging herself a deeper hole even though she's trying to be responsible and accountable for once in her life. If the second episode is an indication of the rest of the series, I foresee an intense, gripping, scandalous season ahead as Siobhan's scheme unravels.

I just hope the viewers will give it a chance.

Love Bites (2011)

Refreshing!
10 July 2011
Think of 'Love Bites' as a series of mini romantic comedies. There are three small plots within each episode, but the main character(s) in each plot line somehow connect to the three main cast members Becki Newton, Greg Grunberg, and Constance Zimmer.

The stories all have a basic theme, either 'love found' or 'love lost'. The writers have done a great job in providing variety so far, and one could imagine similar situations happening in reality. The show does not shy away from the nitty-gritty details of relationships. The humour is spot-on, especially with Becki Newton, who played Amanda from Ugly Betty. Becki is so brilliant in comedic roles.

Many of the guest stars are recognizable from other TV shows. My personal favourite so far is Matt, who plays Joey on Mad Men. And Michelle Trachtenberg is thankfully more bearable in this series.

It's nice to watch a RomCom series that has a brilliant group of actors and actresses, that's not cheesy, and serves plenty of chuckles and even some laugh-out-loud moments. Hopefully this series is here to stay.

Love it!
