Jury Duty (2023)
Loved this show
There are so many things that could have gone wrong but somehow they pulled it off - thanks to the good heart and nature of the unsuspecting victim. At any time, there was the possibility that the show might become too cruel to watch. Fortunately, it never did. I don't think they paid him enough for all the entertainment he provided. Evidently, the chosen victim was a man of very high emotional intelligence and a very likeable person. He fit in well with this group of actors and didn't seem out of place at all. He did himself proud. I wasn't really in the mood for American comedy but thought this was a very interesting concept and I was curious how it would pan out. It worked. I watched all episodes in one sitting. I highly recommend this show.
4400 (2021)
Better than 'The 4400'
I stopped watching the original because it bored me. This one is a lot more interesting so far. I think the characters are more real. I'm definitely going to give this one a proper chance.
La Brea (2021)
Quite entertaining - reminds me of The Land That Time Forgot
I'm enjoying this series. It reminds me a bit of the cartoon series called 'The Land That Time Forgot' that I used to watch when I was a child. I don't understand why this series has got such bad ratings. It's better than most series that are on at the moment. You have to switch off a little to scientific explanations. That will ruin it for you. The lost land is quite believable. How they got there is quite ridiculous. So I'm just enjoying the place they're in. I'm only hoping this series won't be the never-ending series that 'Lost' was.
Lapsis (2020)
Best Movie I've seen in a long time
I wasn't expecting much during this lockdown but this one was a very nice surprise. If you liked Black Mirror, you'll love this. Need I say more?
The Rookie: True Crime (2021)
Heap of Trash!
They must be running out of ideas. I was looking forward to another episode and instead got this pseudo documentary.
Bomb Girls (2012)
Excellent Storytelling.
I loved this series. At first, I wasn't expecting too much - I was expecting some kind of Pan Am/Playboy Club Hybrid. But this was most definitely not the case. Every episode had me glued to my seat. Every actor plays his/her part to perfection! I Meg Tilly was perfect. Peter Outerbridge was perfect. They all were. All were in character from start to finish - and very interesting characters they were too. My only complaint is that the series was so short. I didn't want it to end so soon.
Being a Canadian series, and not an American one, it is likely that there won't be a second Season. The final episode wasn't left open-ended for the possibility of ramping up profits by adding another Season.
Although a man, I sometimes enjoy stories told from the female perspective a little more than from the male's. For this genre of story, I doubt that I am in the minority.
