Andor: One Way Out (2022)
Is it just me?
I think the show is pretty good. Especially considering how low the bar for Disney shows has been set. However, I feel like I'm taking crazy pills since I don't see anyone else mentioning a significant plot hole. Maybe I'm missing something, which is a distinct possibility, but it seems that if people aren't being released, just transferred somewhere else, that said person might mention that fact to his new fellow inmates. Are they being MIB flashy thinged? The guys on Level 5 find out about Level 2 in about 10 minutes but after however many years of this prison, no rumors have filtered through about the small fact of no one ever being released?
Also, I know the empire is evil but making their prison guards swim to and from work everyday with no other transportation is pretty harsh.
Evil: October 31 (2019)
I mean...I wanna like it...
The fact that David put sunglasses on, told Kristen to do the same, then clarified that they were to block eye contact all with a straight face...blew my mind. The fact that no one took the opportunity to say, 'we're on a mission from God' was...crushing. C'mon guys. Be better.
As others have mentioned, Michael Emerson is definitely added value but not sure why they slapped that poor rug on his head...woof.
I want to like this show. I was a big fan of The Good Wife. I was a big fan of The Good Fight, at least for a while. I like high brow and I like low brow. The Wire and Supernatural (at least while it could still laugh at itself). Deadwood and South Park. However, there are so many shows out there lately that get high ratings but are ultimately lacking that I start to feel like I'm taking crazy pills. It's far from terrible but it's also far from good.
Star Trek: The Next Generation: The Outcast (1992)
No living being can resist Riker the sexpot.
My low rating really doesn't have much to do with this episode in particular. What it is based on is the fact that I am so incredibly tired of women and now apparently anyone that breathes throwing themselves at Riker. As a woman with eyes and ears this is slowly killing me. On top of the complete lack of taste of all these beings, what is even worse is his inevitably creepy way of responding. In truth I find 80% of the writing dealing with sex on Star Trek deeply icky, they have the distinct feeling of being written by teenage boys. Don't even get me started on Geordi.
Goliath (2016)
Patty Solis-Papagian Spin-Off. Now.
I can't deal with how much I love the character of Patty Solis-Papagian. I could watch her read the phone book, ideally with her commentary. Goes without saying that Billy Bob. All in all, great show.
