Resident Evil (2022)
Nothing but fan boys review bombing
Watchable, fun and great entertainment. Is it a masterpiece? No. Is it far better than Welcome to Raccoon City? Absolutely. It's truly alarming how many people will whine about a video game adaption not being 100% like the games. You have the games and you can go back and replay them at anytime. A different story set in a similar world doesn't mean it's bad... however, these whiny fanboys? They can get anything done. Especially tank the score of anything they want on IMDb.
Killer Movie: Director's Cut (2021)
Watch the original cut.
I stumbled upon this the other night while going through Prime. I was excited to see that it had receive a directors cut, thinking there would be more footage or at the very least some alternate scenes... well, to my surprise, it's nearly fifteen minutes less than the original cut and feels a little too jumpy. I've really enjoyed this movie since it came out back in 2008, but the original version is the one too watch.
The film itself is fun and quick, maybe a little stale by today's standards, we all know how much nostalgia plays apart in the movies we enjoy, but you could do far worse than this film. I would just recommend seeking out the original cut which would warrant a higher rating. Turn your mind off and enjoy.
Wrong Turn (2021)
The land here can be... unforgiving.
The only thing this Wrong Turn does wrong is bring brains to a franchise that was nothing but a hollow head before. Sure, it's a remake in name only and while that seems to be such a terrible sin to others, it's not a problem to me. If you want the same formula over and over again, watch the last five Wrong Turn sequels... and stop asking for "original" films when you become upset at the idea of a remake breaking free from the tradition of a franchise.
This Wrong Turn is both entertaining and thrilling, something worth watching. I've seen numerous people mention that the characters are unlikable, but isn't that kind of the point? They're intruders and last I checked, that's not a redeeming quality. With that said, I didn't mind them. Of course there is a stand out who is completely intolerable, but every movie has one of those.
Wrong Turn brings ideas to the table, something it's predecessors didn't attempt. It takes an old idea and makes it fresh, while adding more meat to the bones.
The only complaint I really have is the false ending, it could have been cut entirely and made no sense.
After the abomination that was Wrong Turn 6, I'm happy to say I finally appreciate the Wrong Turn franchise again. I'm okay with the lack of backwoods mutant cannibals, I'm very happy without Declan O'Brien behind the camera and I am especially thrilled with the amount of though put into a backwoods slasher.
....bring on Wrong Turn 2.
Fear the Walking Dead: No One's Gone (2018)
New showrunners suck
There's no point in watching this series anymore. It's just the Walking Dead now and only two characters are left from season one. Who even asked for Morgan? He's so obnoxious. Then they kill Madison for no reason??? This reboot sucks.
