I have really wondered for years why someone hasn't done a great movie about Mr. Bass Reeves. Oh, there have been some movies made, but they have all been disappointments thus far. Add this one to that heap. I got excited by the reviews I read here and thought perhaps it would be a hidden gem, but no. In fact I would've given this a 4 star review for their effort but I felt I really needed to off set the false positives here. I feel Mr. Washington and the movie would've benefited from a seasoned director or at least better storyboarding before they began shooting. Oh, well. Fingers crossed for the new series.

A real nice surprise!

So far this has been the freshest and most pleasant surprise among the several new series I decided to give a day in court to this season. It was also the one I heard no buzz or hype about when it first popped up on Paramount+. I gave it a shot because I saw Peyton List was starring in it and was also a producer. I thought she was very impressive in the Cobra Kai series.
I'm hanging in there with a couple of the other freshmen series and hoping they will improve but this one is up and running just fine. I'm only 4 episodes in as I write this but so far each new episode has been as good or better than the one that came before. What more could you ask for from a new show? Keep up the great work!

What a great surprise find for me

I'll keep this short and sweet. 2008 was a busy year for me. I guess that's why this one slipped completely by me. However I happen to miss it for all these years I fortunately stumbled across it today by happenstance. What a great surprise find for me. I totally enjoyed it and highly recommend it. Just good old fashion movie entertainment. A movie that deserves more recognition!

One of my all time favorite horror comedies, wither it was meant to be one or not. A virtual treasure trove of great quotable lines! A favorite among myself and several of my friends. It's been reference point of our communal dialogue for the last 35 years or so. Chop Top rocks!

I have no way of knowing for sure what the real issue was but I'm not a believer in creation by committee, even if it's only a committee of two. Especially any committee of an even number, that never works out. You need a tie breaker, someone has to rake charge. I hated giving this movie a bad score because there was real potential here and I liked many of the actors, but I also hate seeing a film ruined by so many of the same cliched tired bad decisions that have undermined this genre for years now. Many of the other reviewers have already called out the same ones that bothered me, so there is no need for me to repeat them here. Save one, I want to be entertained by your movie, I don't need to know your political views.
