That Dirty Black Bag (2022)
Horrid writing and acting
Series tries to be Deadwood crossed with spaghetti westerns, but fails miserably due to terrible line readings of terrible dialog. One or two shocking events does not make an intriguing series when characters act as though they're reading from cue cards. Moreover, for a town which has a shortage of water and no rain for five years, everyone and every piece of clothing is awfully clean and bright. Teeth too.
The Ice Road (2021)
Bad. Hokey. Cliched.
This is the third film I've seen in two weeks starring brand name actors with $6.37 special effects.
Lordy. Did they get 12-year-olds from Fiverr to create the effects on Radio Shack computers?
Moreover, was the script commissioned by Cliches R Us?
The writers ignore physics, embrace absurdity, and the worst aspects of implausible melodrama.
Ugh.
Blood Vessel (2019)
Why, Robert Taylor?
Why is Robert Taylor in several horror films for like, five minutes?
I saw him and went, "Cool, Longmire!"
Then he fell in the ship's prop.
Why??
Marianne (2019)
Before Horror Haters Ruin Its Rating
If you enjoy Stephen King and Insidious-styke horror, check.out this French series. Great cinematography and imagery, good acting, and creepy dread. The unlikeable lead is well played. Robert says, "check it out."
Eerie (2018)
Each shot is a painting.
Classic Asian Rung-type trope, legend tied to a mystery, set in 1995 at a Catholic School.
The cinematography is great with each shot looking like a painting, framed wonderfully and lighted gorgeously.
As you watch the film, imagine your screen as a painting hanging in a museum. You'll see what I mean.
1st Summoning (2018)
Earring! It's the Damned earring!
That rattling you hear is Lee's giant earring hitting the camera. Ugh!!
Years and Years (2019)
If you don't like this show...
You're a Trumper.
It's a marvelous mixture of satire and horrifying possibility. What looks overwrought and hamfisted us the satirical while the final fifteen minutes of episode one is the terrifying reality of where we are right now.
