Please Don't Destroy: The Treasure of Foggy Mountain (2023)
Tiresome attempt at comedy
It's just really clear from the first two minutes; These people aren't capable of producing a funny movie. I managed to endure 40 minutes of this whatever it is, and then I just got pissed off for having wasted 40 minutes on it.
They try way too hard to make everything funny in an outlandish kinda way, but it falls flat.
There's nothing likeable about them, nothing original about the attempt and aside from a couple of funny incidents, you just wait for something that does not improve.
The two park Rangers or whatever they're supposed to be, couldn't have been worse even if they tried, just plain awful over the top acting.
Curb Your Enthusiasm (2000)
Got into this show late, but man was it worth it.
From the very first season of the series I could immediately tell that this is a very thought-provoking show. At first I was endlessly frustrated with David's behaviour, and was even contemplating to not watch it anymore, it was beyond ridiculous. But as I dove deeper into the series, I really started to appreciate Larry David and his unfiltered approach to life.
I even recognized some of my own shortcomings in his behaviour, so I guess there's a few lessons to be had.
He means well, but the clear lack of social intelligence really gets him into trouble, and that is the core of this show.
If you watch this and aren't feeling anything, then you might be dead inside.
Tons of extra points for not being a classic sit-com with the horrible laugh track in the background.
Miracle Workers (2019)
Must have been written by women scorned
This starts off very promising with Steve, Daniel and Karan plus tons of humor. Sadly it quickly becomes visible that this is just another attempt to satisfy the female population on behalf of bringing most men down to a stupid level. Karan is the only male who can do anything right in this show, more than likely due to favorism of anyone with a darker skin color.
Season 1 and the weird as heck season 2 is loaded with all the strong females saving the day, while the men are hardly usable for anything on their own. It's such a forced and unnatural message that has become the norm these days. This is not how you build a strong female character! What is wrong with these writers??
If you've watched the latest ocean movie or ghostbusters, you know what I'm talking about.
Other shows that have fallen into the same trap: Stargirl, Titans, the 100, batwoman, warrior nun and tons of others.
