Carl Spackler: Correct me if I'm wrong Sandy, but if I kill all the golfers, they're gonna lock me up and throw away the key...
Sandy: Not golfers, you great fool! Gophers! The *little* *brown*, *furry* *rodents* -!
Carl Spackler: We can do that; we don't even have to have a reason. All right, let's do the same thing, but with gophers -!
First, your return to shore was not part of our negotiations nor our agreement so I must do nothing. And secondly, you must be a pirate for the pirate's code to apply and you're not. And thirdly, the code is more what you'd call "guidelines" than actual rules. Welcome aboard the Black Pearl, Miss Turner .

FBI: Creating a Monster (2024)
Maggie is unbelievable!
I usually love this show, along with the other series. I'm not sure what changed between this season and last, but Maggie needs to be taken down a few notches. Since when does she lead the team when they are in the field, even making it appear that she outranks OA. She just seems so full of herself, and treats the rest of her team, even pulling herself over Jubal or Castille. She is so self - righteous it makes me sick, even when she talks about OA's new girlfriend. She has no right to make judgements about other people's significant others, especially since she doesn't seem to want a life outside of work. Even if this episode, she pulls rank with her friend in the counter-terrorism unit, and making OA look like the bad guy when he questions her about Hassim and his role in this episode. So, in other words, back off Maggie.
Scorpion: Ice Ca-Cabes (2017)
What?! People actually wrote and pulled it off?!
Ok, haven't even watched the show yet, but was looking for trivia and quotes, and to my surprise, Walter and Paige have to go to a nudist colony to get a certain chemical from their hot springs. They even talk to a security guard, who makes them strip down to their birthday suits to get in. WHY didn't they have the guard call an ambulance to get Cabe out of the desert and to a medical facility instead of making a crazy experiment out of trying to save his life?! I've complained before about the crap job these writers do with other medical crisis', but this is getting boarder-line insane. Such an obvious plot hole that no one else seems to find the glaring stupidity of either the people who watch this show, or the ones who write it. I'm glad this train wreck of a dumpster fire is ending soon, because it truly needs to be sent the "the farm" where all the pets go to when they "run away".
S.W.A.T.: Good for Nothing (2024)
Glad this is ending, new officers are horrible!
I used to love this show, but now.... Especially this episode. Now, I'm not undermining or making fun of any person, but the two new women characters have more testosterone than all the men on 20 squad put together( and that's a lot of men!). I wasn't a big fan of Chris, as Lina Esco seemed to be a talking board, but I did enjoy her story lines, even if they were not the most traditional. I really like Lyndie Greenwoods character, and they killed her off. I'm a little more angry that Kenny Johnson's Luca has gotten so little screen time, I'm almost sure I'm not making it to the end of the series. These new characters, the two women and the kid from Streets old partner are all a bunch of whiny kids. Why is Street back in his old stomping grounds training a new SWAT team, when there are far more experienced team members. And when Deacon brings up the traditional pasta night, the new recruits want nothing to do with that tradition, but would rather play softball. Softball! I mean, that's like wiffle ball for adults! They scoff at SWAT tradition, it's no wonder that long time watchers are fleeing like rats on a sinking ship.
Scorpion: Ticker (2016)
I'm a killjoy
Yes, I love watching these kinds of shows: drama, crime busting, character evolution, storylines, single plots and arching plots. I know this is for our entertainment, it is fiction, not actual factual day to day occurrences.
Even so, anyone who has ever seen any medical show, they know how a heart transplant should work. Even families of transplant patients know how they "operate", and this was so far off base, an entire baseball team at bat would get a home run off one hit!
Let's start with the fact, that if that little girl was so ill that she hit bumped up the donor list, there is no way she's walking into that hospital, on her own volition, without getting supplemental oxygen. I'll look over the whole heart debacle, with it being delayed for over 15 hours on the East Coast. The rare blood type, I'll buy, because honestly, I had never heard of her type and had to Google it, and it was very fascinating reading. But, back to the surgery. First, that doctor should have ever started that procedure without having some back-up blood on hand. They also should have known that somewhere down the line, they will have to account from where the blood came from. Yet another point of contention: when a person is having either a heart or lung transport, they must be put on a "heart-lung bypass" machine, so the heart can be stopped, removed and replaced. This machine acts as the heart would, and pump oxygenated blood through the body. Ok, lastly, the surgical suite. How many hospitals does anyone know of that have sliding glass doors directly to the operating room? Amy guesses? That would be NONE, as they need to keep out any possible way to transmit an infection to the patient, especially have a major organ transplant. And not just some random guy can be admitted with blood bags who is not an employee of the hospital. I'll stop here, because I'm probably making people angry.
All I'll say, is that writers should do a little research on what they're going to focus on, because if I could do a quick Google on the rare blood type, they should be able to get the basics right about a pretty major surgery. And, yes, I'm quite aware that this IS entertainment, but with the number of inaccuracies portrayed in this episode, it was so painful to watch, it was not entertaining.
So, thank you for reading this, and good night.
Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition (2011)
How demoralizing!
I've never seen this show, and had actually never heard of it until one of the former contestants just passed away. I'm absolutely horrified that people find this "entertaining". I thought, as a society, we had stopped abusing and making light of obese people. Yes, I know, being overweight, overly overweight, is not good for a person. I know this, because I have been obese most of my life. But there are better, safer, healthier ways to loose weight, and not having to go on tv shouldn't even be thought of. I know on other networks that they have tv shows with obese people trying to looses weight, meet with a doctor to get surgery to help them, and then provide after care post surgery, provide mental health experts to help them understand the whys and how's they got in their current condition.
Making someone loose weight in a competition, that apparently people love to watch, is akin to advent times going to the arenas to watch gladiators kill for amusement, or even worse, bear bating. Why on earth would a viewer get enjoyment watching people struggle to loose a lot of weight in a short amount of time?! It's unhealthy, unnatural, and ABC, their producers, cast, crew, and anyone who watches this should be ashamed of themselves. They may think they are "helping" the contestants loose weight, but I'm betting that over 90% of the audience just watches this shows and makes fun of them from the comfort of their home.
I don't know which show in the history of reality tv is worse: this or "The Apprentice". In this case, I'd say it's an even split. Please, stop watching this show, as it gives tv stations the approval they so desperately want to keep people entertained. I would rather watch the Animal Planet show "Noodlin" about people using their arms to catch catfish than this horror of a show.
Criminal Minds: Mr. Scratch (2015)
Great story! Even better director!!
Matthew Grey Gubler directs some this shows finest episodes. Take this one: it was creepy, like old Stephen King novels/shorts, but without it being supernatural. The way he spins his tale without it being "hokey", but also keeping it close to being horror scary, and also keeping in grounded in the real world. Some of the other episodes try this, but don't really succeed the way this show did.
I really enjoy the way Matthew takes every angle and pieces together an episode that was scary, yet one of the most memorable episodes of this series so far. (The only other episode is when the victims are made into marionettes. I still shudder to this day, and will not watch it because it's so plausible, and horrific, that I'm terrified it could happen to me. But that's me.)
So, please, watch this episode again, and again. I know I'm planning on doing so.
Criminal Minds: The Lesson (2012)
Too personal
I love this show, but this is the one episode in which I will never watch again. Once is enough. I have some medical knowledge, and what was done here scares me on a primal level, like zombies.(I know, fictional, but to me, terrifying). Just the thought of being trapped in a body that is slowly being broken down, and then, is you live, all the surgeries and therapy, both physical and mental, is too much. If it were me in this situation, or similar, I would beg to be put out of my misery, because I couldn't imagine living through a horror like this, and ever recovering fully.
So, thank you, but no. Not watching this one ever again.
Wolf Pack (2023)
My secret guilty pleasure
Ok, don't get me wrong, this show has some of Hollywoods biggest cliches, such as all adults are complete a****les and take advantage of their place of power and abuse their rights; everyone ALWAYS splitting up in to pairs or by themselves and SURPRISE, they die; the teenagers are all misunderstood and broody, or super popular. And WTF is up with Everett's mom? Total b***ch! I mean, her son obviously needs help with his anxiety, and she thinks she's being wronged by him.... uh, what happened to her to make her think the world revolves around her?! And his dad is no better, letting his wife walk all over him like a doormat. I could go on about all the adults in this program, except for Garret, but we haven't seen much of him, so I'll wait to pass judgement.
But, like with the first few seasons of The Vampire Diaries, I just can't wait for the next episode. I've watched the first few shows a couple of times, because it's drawn me in with all the complexities of a bad teenage soap opera. And I will watch to the end, and *fingers crossed* will have a second season, so I can continue to get my fix if this awesome, bad teenage drama.
The Boys: The Instant White-Hot Wild (2022)
Could have been worse
This season was absolutely phenomenal! I think it had to do with Jenson as Soldier Boy. Now granted, the finale was rushed, storylines got blurred, but I think it did make way for season 4, and not with a cliffhanger ending, where you're like, ok, wtf just happened?!
In regards to Soldier Boy and his power that he got from the Russians: I don't think it was supposed to be like a death ray, instead zapped sups of their powers. Maybe when he looses control it kills, but when he's "with it", and actually has control, he just takes their powers away. Or maybe he can control it, and if he wants that sup dead, like the Crimson Countess, then yes, he can kill them.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
Great movie, but the middle/last credit scenes are AMAZING
Let's get down to it: Dr. Strange and the Multiverse of Madness is great. Not what I expected, but it's the multiverse, and anything can happen. I would have given 10 stars, but lots of trailer scenes were cut, and they were some really good scenes. Sam Rami returns big time, making this the first Marvel horror movie.(Secretly hoping they do a zombie movie. I would actually watch that, since I fear zombies.) But this review is primarily about that last scene, at the end of the credit roll. I think that, besides Tony doing that "snap", not wanting to do it, because he's finally happy, but, because he's a true hero at heart, is willing to sacrifice his life for all those who were lost after the first "snap". That, to me, is one of any movies most poignant moments. The end credit scene with Bruce Campbell almost tops that moment. It is perfect in every way imaginable, and these moments don't come around too often.
So, in other words, see Dr. Strange, but stay fir the end credit scene it more than makes up for the money you spent buying the ticket and food.
Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas (1977)
Nostalgic Christmas for Generation X'ers!
This is one of my best childhood memories, watching this with my mom and sister, as a child. Yes, you can see the wires, and other aids to help the puppets move, but this was one of the first of its kind. Just like most people's go-to Christmas movie may be "National Lampoons Christmas" or "A Christmas Story", this is my go-to Christmas movie, and always will be. I just hope, and wish, that more people give it a chance, especially with their children, and maybe new traditions will start.
Prodigal Son (2019)
Great Show! For shame on Fox
At first, when I saw the title, I thought it would t be worth watching, but, was I wrong! As soon as I read the description, I was hooked. I didn't care for Tom at first, but now I can't think of anyone more suited for the role. Now Michael, he was born for this part. It's like watching Sir Anthony Hopkins in Silence of the Lambs. There is just something about how he gets into the character, it draws you like a bug to a Venus fly trap. The story lines are great, especially the "monster of the week", and how the family handles each crisis thrown at them.
For shame on Fox for canceling this great show. I know they have a very long history of doing this to the best tv shows, ie "Firefly", but I'm crossing my fingers that another network, possibly a streaming service do it can get more visually graphic, picks it up. And when the rating site, Fox will know they've done it again. I mean, come on, Fox will keep "The Masked Singer" on, it cancel this? Do they even know what their viewers watch, or are they just keeping the big money sponsors happy?
I'm glad that I can get this through my streaming service, because there is no way I would ever consider spending money on this channel. Boo Fox.
WandaVision (2021)
Magnificent!
I did not know what to expect with the first of many new Marvel tv shows, but it was so good. I loved how the producers/writers were able to give the first two episodes that tv show feel from the 50's and 60's. I am intrigued where it's heading, but, unlike my usual self, am willing to wait this out and not look for spoilers. My only concern is that if this, and other shows are tying into the next Dr. Strange movie, I don't want to wait until next year. Fingers crossed it stays this good, or gets better!
