See No Evil (2006)
I thought this was a horror film, not a comedy. ***SPOILERS***
Reading up on a few reviews before seeing this movie, I was prepared for a storyline that was shallow. I am a horror fan that does not go for a major story, as long as it has me on the edge of my seat. I was sadly mistaken The movie is quite quick to introduce the character and the gore, not a bad start. You quickly realize that the characters are not gonna get any deeper than the fact that they all committed a sin. The story does not get any deeper than that the serial killer (Kane) has had a troubled childhood and is out to kill people.
As the movie goes on and random stuff happens, slight giggles arise from the audience. All the scary scenes seem too shallow; they don't seem to pull anyone in at all. The acting was laughable, the scenes were written poorly and the script.....was short so I cant really comment on that. In one scene, the character Kyra is in a cage crying to be let out when it sounds terribly exaggerated. Her crys sound like she is not even trying.
The scenes tend to remind of Texas Chainsaw Massacre in the way that Kane would just drag the body off in a dramatic and it would never return. Sadly, many of the scenes are terribly repetitive and predictable. All these bad scenes are climaxed by Kane...umm...lets leave it at "touching himself" while watching a girl. If the blood and gore didn't get you sick, this will.
In the end, when the theater lights came back, most left still giggling and smiling (as did I). The only reason I gave it a 5 is because I am a softy for horror films. Kane played the serial killer very nicely. He was the best actor in it (even though he only has one line). I would not recommend this film even for the hardcore horror fans. You will probably see more horror in the Da Vinci Code (as long as you can get past the protesters)
The Matrix Revolutions (2003)
Nothing short of fantastic
It all started when I was watching matrix reloaded and it had "To Be Continued". I waited until now to see it and it was everything I expected and more. The visual effects are the best although the computer generated images of humans still lacking but hey, still no one has been able to make a computer generated human that actually looked real. The relationship with Neo and Trinity ends a little cheesy like. If you are into battle movies, this is the one for you. The battle sceen goes on for a long time and you will never want it to end. If you liked all the profisizing in reloaded, u will be disappointed in this one as it doesn't have much of that but I thought reloaded had too much in the first place. Sadly, like the oracle said, "everything with a beginning has an end" and the movie and the trilogy ended. You must go see this movie. easily a 10/10. and now i leave you with these words "If we give them our lives, WE GIVE THEM HELL BEFORE WE DO!!!"
Freddy vs. Jason (2003)
Nothing short of amazing but surprisingly not scary.
When I saw this movie on aug. 17, 2003, I flipped. This movie is literally nothing short of amazing. These 2 titans of the underworld battle it out in a Hell in a... umm, dream/crystal lake thing. This movie is though surprisingly not scary but very action packed. You will never look at a Nightmare on Elm street or Friday the 13th movie the same way again. One flaw though, the movie has a little too much sexual content including sex itself which runs awhile in the story therefor fully deserving that R. All and all though, you can get past that (if you do not want to look at the... ohhhhh). I would give this a 9.5/10.
The Matrix Reloaded (2003)
WORST....MOVIE....EVER
HA Ha, just kidding, I wanted to get your attention and it seems I have. Well, anyway, this is is but the absolute opposite of my title. It is very good, no great, no unbelievable, well, words can't express how good this movie is. If you were like some people and liked the 1st matrix movie then you will die for this one. One problem, it ends with these words "to be concluded" (aka. to be continued). THAT MAKES ME P***ED. There are movies that make many mistakes as they go along but this sequel practically fixes all mistakes as they went along by giving longer fight scenes (a little too long), more special FX, and even a little love. This movie has almost all of it, just one problem, I HAVE TO WAIT 5 MONTHS TO SEE THE NEXT ONE.
Easily, this movie is a 10/10
