2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
It's a trap!
Considering that this is a 1968 movie, here are my thoughts:
Most ideas are way ahead of its time (9/10), but the plot makes up about one tenth of the movie (1/10).
The acting is just meh (5/10); the AI has more personality than the people (5/10).
The special effects are just amazing (10/10), but most shots are way too long even if they were/are really beautiful (6/10).
The sound effects are absolutely terrible from even before the start of the movie (1/10). Don't believe me? Watch/listen to the first 3 minutes.
So, overall, I'd say this deserves a 5/10.
Tip: For a better experience, unplug your headphones, set the volume to medium and be ready to abuse the '10-sec forward' button.
Bonus tip: Better yet, just watch a 5-min summary and then stare at the sky for 2 hours.
Knives Out (2019)
Brilliant!
Certainly not what I was expecting, in a good way. It's clever, it's witty, and most importantly, it's compelling. Also, to be noted, no detail is left unused; everything you see will, at some point, contribute to the narrative.
An easy recommendation!
Constantine (2005)
Excellent movie!
I wish people would stop comparing movies to the comics/books they are inspired from. That's why Constantine got so low reviews when it came out.
If you forget the fact that it's based on a DC comic, the movie is flawless; 2 hours of pure cinematic excellence. There's great acting, a wisely written plot that's not too predictable but easy to follow, and not a second wasted.
Definitely watch this, you will not regret it!
Beyond Blue (2020)
Beautiful but short
It's an atmospheric game packed with information about the ocean and it's problems. It has beautiful graphics, realistic character and wildlife animations, good music and professional voice acting. There are also complementary videos to help you learn more about the team and everything they are doing, as well as shine a light on the various concerns regarding human activity in the ocean.
As for the 2 to 3 hours of gameplay, apart from the few diving missions, the only other purpose while exploring is scanning the ocean wildlife over and over again.
Overall this game is really worth playing, but don't get too invested as it's quite short.
Outer Wilds (2019)
A work of art!
When you start playing this game for the first time (and you must) you may think ' okay, it's a nice little indie game to pass the time', but if you give it a chance you will very quickly come to realize that it is much much more than that.
The story and the message it conveys are truly fascinating. The attention to detail and the fact that it lets you choose your path, complement the experience. The art style and the world design are beautiful and unique, and the music will be stuck in your head for quite a while.
A work of art!
Highly recommended!
10 Cloverfield Lane (2016)
Captivating and unpredictable.
I love it when a movie keeps making me guess what is about to happen. I love it even more when I'm wrong. And I was wrong a lot watching this.
I could almost call this a masterpiece, if it weren't for 2 important details:
1. The ending was rushed, I wanted more of that.
2. Howard should not have mentioned anything about aliens. That way, the ending would have had a much bigger impact.

Intriguing, funny and captivating!
Great show set in a future where people can still live inside computer simulations after they die.
Highly recommended!
Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood (2019)
Great acting, no plot.
Sure, the acting was spot on, but then that's exactly what you would expect from top actors like these.
As for the plot, well, it's not there. There are 2 and a half hours of bits and pieces glued together by a narrator, followed by a 10-minute classic Tarantino gory scene and an ending that's completely irrelevant.
Control (2019)
Absolutely loved it!
The graphics are great and really in tone with the ominous vibe of the Paranatural world. Almost everything can be displaced or completely destroyed, which can be a lot of fun. Also, explosions.
The gameplay is perfect. The difficulty varies from fight to fight such that it is perfectly balanced. The enemies have different abilities and weaknesses so you have to improvise constantly. The leveling system is intuitive and straightforward.
The interface is better than in most games. The map can be a bit confusing in the beginning but you will learn the layout quite fast. There's auto looting when in proximity, you can fast travel, doors open automatically and you can move while looking at the map.
The story is mind-blowing and so well written that it does and doesn't make sense simultaneously. Every side quest, every conversation, every audio or text log, every note as well. They all fit and add to the experience.
Overall a truly immersive experience.
Highly recommended!
Warframe (2013)
One of the best F2P games and communities out there!
First of all it's free, so anyone can play it. It's not pay to win - anything you need in game can be obtained without spending a dime. People who choose to spend money do so mostly to support the devs.
That brings me to my second point, the devs are great. The game is constantly updated with major patches very often and they engage with and listen to the community. And the community is amazing as well, compared to most games. There are also a lot of dedicated websites and an always up to date wiki.
Lastly, the graphics are beautiful, the gameplay is great, you get to choose how you want to play from a plethora of weapons, warframes and mods, as well as the newly added railjack (your own personal battleship). All you need is patience.
