Mythic (2015)
A definite winner
Mythic attempts to be unique by focusing on an often unexplored subject matter in film that of higher thinking. While most mainstream movies strive to satisfy their audiences primal thoughts, mythic delves deeper and although at times is subtle is unapologetic of it's pursuit of a controversial and largely academic subject matter. In effect Mythic brings to life many of the attitudes and fears that exist today among society's thinkers but were even more prevalent in the high Middle Ages. For the academic crowd this will be a much loved movie, intelligent thinkers creating an intelligent piece of art. However the general public may find there are too few gunfights and murders to satisfy their entertainment needs. 5/5
Hollidaysburg (2014)
An Instant Cult Classic
The film is a coming of age dramedy for the ages. To me the film stands right up there with "Sixteen Candles". I would certainly consider it a modern classic. The story is one we have all seen before, but the deep heart felt characters and quirky dialogue bring the heart to this genre that no one has seen in a long time. The young actors in the film really deliver sincere performances. Tristan Erwin as petrof really gives an A-list performance, he and Claire Chapelli really bring the drama, while the other film's couple Tobin Mitnick and Rachel Keller equally provide great quirky romantic comedy. All in all you can't ask for better actors than this, nor a better film. Anything less than this film becoming a cult classic would be disappointing.
