Wonka (2023)
5/10
So much potential ruined with an average story
9 December 2023
I expected sooo much more from Wonka. Charlie and the Chocolate factory was my favourite book in my childhood, I watched both movies many times and my kids took that passion from me and my wife. We were looking forward to see Wonka, but then we were all disappointed.

Movies is not bad, it's fairly entertaining, kids liked it, but we all agreed it's nowhere close to Tim Burton's movie. There was huge potential to bring some new magic into the chocolate world of Willy Wonka, but they failed to do that.

During the movie, I never once felt the irresistible craving for chocolate, even though I'm a big fan of sweets. That's an unforgivable mistake. In Burton's film, I enjoyed the world of chocolate, from the beginning until the end. Also, the story is very average, focused mainly on the negative aspects of the world we live in. I don't know if they wanted to make a chocolate Oliver Twist, but the combination of the magical world of chocolate and the harsh realism of Charles Dickens just doesn't work together. I'm not dissatisfied with the film, but I am disappointed because it could and should have been much better, more magical, more appealing, and - tastier.

It's a terrible movie! And I enjoyed it...
19 June 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Yes, it's hard to believe you can watch such a terrible movie and not only to survive until the end, but also to enjoy it, kind of...somehow

There is no quality in this movie. The plot is incredibly stupid, the storyline is at the level of a 6-year-old, humor is very weak, some details in the movie doesn't have sense at all...

And the good old American perception of Europe as a combination of France and Italy with Paris as its capital. The guys are escaping Monaco with phrase: "Lake Como, backroads" - like Como is 15 minutes drive from Monaco, so you can use backroads. And magically, in the next scene everybody appear in Como, like it's the neighbourhood.

That beeing said, I watched the whole movie and I was not angry or mad. I was entertained. I said to my wife: "This is probably the worst movie we've seen in a while", but we were in the good mood and were making fun of the movie. I've been watching many bad movies that I couldn't wait until the end. Or I felt bad after it. So, at the end, this movie is very weak and empty, but it will entartain you...and I think that was their idea...

Supernatural (2005–2020)

Ufff...I was crazy about Supernatural
4 November 2012
...really, I was crazy about it, this was my favorite TV show of all and I watched it a lot. Fantastic stories, episodes but they should stop it after Season 5. I was happy at first when I saw they are going on with the show, but after a first few episodes I was so disappointed with the story that I stopped to watch it. I have only good memories about Supernatural and I wanted to keep it that way. Now I saw that I am not the only one who is thinking like that. Too bad, really too bad to ruin such a fantastic show. The atmosphere, story, music, characters - it was fantastic. From Season 6 - absolute disaster....I hope they will improve, but I had to let them know that they lost one disappointed viewer...

Super 8 (2011)
i was expecting more
5 November 2011
Warning: Spoilers
From Spielberg you are always expecting much. That's why I had some high expectations from this movie. The beginning was promising, but later on you get a mix of poor copy of Goonies, Predator/Alien and "It" - a Spielberg's horror movie from 1990. Goonies were brilliant kid movie and I can watch it today, "It" was excellent horror (also a mini-series) and Predator/Alien are masterpiece in their class. But, when you put it together you get - nothing. (Just like in "it" it's pretty disappointing when it comes to meeting the monster) The film is full of flaws, I found some parts where weak even for kids, and i really expected much more...

The Change-Up (2011)
nice surprise for us...
5 November 2011
Me and my wife were watching this movie and didn't expect much. Cince I red the reviews first, like always, I expected a half-decent entertaining movie for a pleasant evening. But we really liked it! OK, yes, it's a body switching story, a bit of 80's, so what?! There are really funny scenes in the movie and the story is quite OK. Not a masterpiece, but very watchable. I watched three movies in a few days, Super 8, Crazy stupid love and this one and I must admit this was the best of three. The movie is entertaining and funny. I usually trust IMDb rating and very often pass the movies with a low rating, although I find the scenario interesting. Also, I am watching all the movies with high rating. And usually it's keep me on the right track, but not this time. This movie deserves a better rating...

What a movie!
25 March 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I liked the first part very much, but this one is truly masterpiece. I am from Europe, but I was drawn to the movie like I am true Brazilian. I heard about life in Rio, heard many stories, watched many videos, but I supposed this is the best way of learning about the life in Rio. The storyline is much more intelligent that in the first part, with less action but much deeper story... You will be dragged in the movie and you will notice that it's kind of more entertaining than many Hollywood big-budget movies. The ending is great, not the way I would make it (I would enjoy watching all of those a..holes dying slowly), but it's really great... One of the best non-English movies that I ever watched. And I watched it a lot...

absolute disaster!
30 October 2010
I will be short... I am 31 and my wife 28. This movie would be enjoyable for us if I am 17 and she is 14. Maybe. It's a Pokémon movie for teens! I didn't know what to expect, but this is such a waste of time on a Saturday evening. We couldn't watch it to the end...I am sick, need some time to come up from this... :)

P.S. I noticed this movie is so liked by Americans. We are from Europe. And so happy about it...

P.S.S They want me to write another few lines, so I will tell you to avoid this movie if you want to have a pleasant evening or a day. Of course, if you have more than 18 years....
