Love, Rosie (2014)

Clever way to put it

As complicated as it gets this movie has a clever way to deliver as much as possible a positive aspect of little dramas that we get into in our lives just because we are not able to live the great moment or we are so able to live the worst moment possible.

It's a comedy, it has romance but my way of seeing it has a certain amount of drama in this motion picture and I can't go further with an explanation because I don't want to spoil with this comment.

It's simply amazing, it's a great movie and it has the simplest way to show you life as it is, as we know it even thou we do not realize it.

I have to congratulate the idea of this kind of scenario; from my point of view, it was simply a great idea!

Penguins of Madagascar (2014)

Awesome, just awesome

Awesome, just awesome movie.

I don't know how to say this but it is a while since I've last seen a movie that made me laugh freely.

It is a complete movie from my point of view because it's understandable for children and it has plenty of jokes for grown ups. And I enjoyed a lot the jokes related to celebrities names like: Charlize Theron, Kevin Bacon, Hugh Jackman and others I don't remember right now.

It has plenty of surprises and it is after all a comedy wrapped into an animation movie that totally deserves the time spend watching it. I gave it a 9, maybe a little bit higher that rated but in my opinion you just have to see this :D.

Why Oscar(s)?

I am after 2 hours of watching and still wondering and asking myself the same question: why to give an Oscar to this movie? OK, it's not an awful movie and it triggers and debates a little upon the idea of passing of time and that the time that you have missed never comes back to you but still, you need a 2 hour movie to circle this idea?

This is a sad comedy. You have an actor that is struggling to be someone in a new context of acting and after he was someone in his early acting stages. But it seems that he will never shine as bright as he shined in the past.

He missed some great parts of his life and when he understands this and the fact that it's quite too late to take back some moments of the past he decides that it's all over.

But his gesture is not at all heroic! And obtaining again the shining that he was searching for after his decision is quite silly. But yeah, maybe this is the world we are living in right now..

This Is Where I Leave You (2014)

Great!

I have to say that it simply got my attention. I didn't had any expectations but here I am after watching it and still don't understand why it is so low rated.

This movie is about family and what family means with good and bad parts. It's about almost everything if you understand all the angles. And yes it is an wise movie from where you can get some nice ideas about real life.

It is fun but you laugh here because you don't want to cry maybe. It is a surprising combination of comedy and drama and for me it was just great!

Exceeded expectations

I have to say that I was watching this movie with the idea that I don't have anything else to do and had no expectations of it.

But surprisingly the movie exceeded my expectations and if is that one thing that exceeded a lot my expectations is the performance of Nicky Minaj. She has a secondary role a plays for a few minutes but she is definitely good (and trust me, I am not by far a fan of her music, or image, or stuff like this !).

I am giving it a 7 to be more realistic even tho my first reaction was to give it an 8. We have to keep a limit between great movies and good movies. This is not an Oscar movie but is a good movie to watch on a Sunday evening.

Predestination (I) (2014)

Not a SF, but a story

Even tho I kind of guessed the ending of this movie I still wanted to watch it until the end just to see it. I don't know how it is for someone else but the time paradox is always a great subject for me. I can't say too much about this movie now because I might transform this review in a spoiler and I don't want to.

Just watch it. It worth's your time because the movie is captivating and the story fits just great for the subject of the movie.

As an overall is a great movie, not so dramatic, not that much SF, but a movie which is focused on the story.

And I would like to say that Ethan Hawk plays very well, as always!

Exodus: Gods and Kings (2014)

I saw what I was expecting to see

I saw what I was expecting because most of the people already know the story of Moses and I am one of those people. There are some people who consider that this movie should have been split in two parts but I say that it is quite good how it was made so far. The story is great, the movie captivates you from the beginning and even tho you know the story line you will still have some moments when you will wait to see what happens. There are some impressive scenes which I don't need/want to describe here, but trust me that it will surprise you in a good way. Maybe you will not take the movie as rated with 9 as I do, but at least an 8 I hope that you will find it.

Sightseers (2012)

A waste of time

I you have enough time to waste I will say: go ahead and watch this. I was not impressed at all and the only thing that kept me watching until the end was the British humor that is well known. The movie is absurd, it tries to be funny but it fails sometimes. It tries to be normal, but it definitely isn't normal and what the story suggests is quite very Utopian. The characters are very far away from the society and if the movie would have been a little bit more funnier, maybe, just maybe, we would have had a better vision about this one.

Maybe it's just my opinion but I will definitely not want to watch something like this again.

A Million Ways to Die in the West (2014)

Great movie, great comedy !

I found this as a very enjoyable movie, a comedy which actually made me laugh, a great movie. I will not say so many words about it but for those that are complaining that there are not so many good comedy movies lately, they should definitely watch this! I don't want to offend the voters but 6.2 is quite a small grade for this one. Give it a little more credit. The movies has smooth jokes, not offensive and if you understand a minimum of English you will find additional meanings to the actual jokes. I started to watch it as a recommendation from a friend which I know she has a taste for good movies and when the story got a little more deeper I understood that the recommendation was valuable. I am recommending it myself to you now.

Excellent story

Just try to understand the movie and follow the story. My personal opinion is that it's not a waste of time. Don't judge the movie by the rating!

This movie is quite fun at the beginning but the end surprised and turned into drama.

There are some experiences that could change your life forever, your character and even your heart. Just love it!

Swep away on an island where "nothing comes for free" a rich woman and her "personal servant" find themselves caught in a different position compared to the society they lived in before.
