Unplanned (2019)
Realistic depiction/True story
This is a truthful depiction of the abortion industry. If you think you truly have an open mind, watch it and prepare to have things to think about. If you are pro-life, it is disturbing at times, but has some very good acting, and true life situations for discussion.
Fatal Reunion (2005)
No redeeming value
I completely agree with stanfloyd about this movie. It has nothing to redeem it. The acting, writing, cinematography, everything is awful. I think you were generous to give it a 2! My husband and I had nothing to do today and were tired so we sat down to watch something mindless. We found it. This was about as mindless as it gets. It was extremely predictable. The minute the "lawyer" walked in we knew something was up with her. I said right away, "are you guys going to check her out?" Of course, no. It isn't until after they decide to go along with her crazy plan that he suddenly thinks something might be fishy. And right from the beginning I had no sympathy for Jess. She was an idiot.
Owd Bob (1998)
Good tear-jerker
Well, I haven't read the book. And my feeling is that the movie never lives up to the book anyway. It can't. It's a movie. But I still enjoyed it very much for what it was. The performances were good all around, and it was poignant. If you're looking for just a good interpersonal relationship type movie that's short and sweet, this is it.
In the Best Interest of the Children (1992)
Frustratingly Real
This is unfortunately what really happens in the so-called child protective services in this country. The movie is well acted by all, kids and adults alike. It's frustrating to watch though. The court system in this story seems to think that these kids who have been neglected and abused by their mentally ill, drinking, smoking, sleeping-around mother should be with her at all costs. The kids finally find people who love them and even want to adopt them, and the system takes them away!! Sorry, didn't want to give stuff away, but it's infuriating to watch. Anyway, if you can stand it, the movie is almost worth it. 6.5 stars.
