Enjoyed it more than I expected.
28 July 2022
Although mostly predictable, I enjoyed it, and liked the style. If you're watching this expecting a funny movie, don't get your hopes up. I only see it as a movie that's not taking itself too seriously. If I could change anything, I would make it a bit more over the top with everything.

For those wondering what the point of the racism side story is - to add to the contrast. On the surface, you have this perfect and peaceful suburbs, with beautiful houses, cars and stylish people, but the community is in fact full of violence. Motives might differ, but it's there in almost everyone, except the new family trying to live their lives, and the kids. They're even being blamed for everything in the end, because it's always someone else who"s the problem.

Jamie's 15-Minute Meals (2012–2014)

Ew
3 February 2022
It's not really 15 minute meals, especially if you use an electric stove. A part of the prep is done in advance (like preparing pots, boiling water, and similar). But even if I treat it as 15-30 minute meals, what triggers me is the sloppiness. Touching unused ingredients with dirty hands or dirty spoons, it's just unpleasant to watch.

Mixed feelings
22 November 2021
I was waiting for the season to end before I form an opinion.

The main thing I like is the theme. How everything was executed not as much. The thing that upset me the most was - 10 episodes later I still don't know why the show is called Crna svadba, as that ritual doesn't seem to have anything to do with the show (except for the first couple of episodes).

The season finale left us with almost no questions answered. I'm not sure I'm interested in investing myself any more to get them.

Screenplay is all over the place and pretty bad. I find it the weakest link of this show. Dialogue is unnatural, characters are one-dimensional. Main parts of the plot are predictable, which I don't mind when everything else makes sense. The second and third episode felt like fillers, and shouldn't have lasted more than 15 minutes in total (I'm all for giving characters some background and bulding suspense, but that was lacking). Some characters disappear and reappear, and by the time they are back I have no idea who they are.

Mixed feelings about cast as well, some actors were great, some not, some seemed as though they were given terrible directions.

I really wanted to like this, but there's room for a lot of improvement in story-telling.

Great show with a not so great season finale
20 October 2021
Really enjoyed the show, everything was great - acting, directing, dialogue. I often have problems with local TV shows having terrible acting and/or unnatural conversations and character psychology (almost as though they are underestimating viewer standards), so seeing something like this got me very excited.

Episode 8 was by far the best, acting was superb (especially Stojan and young Sonja), my emotional involvement was at its peak.

The only thing I didn't like was the final episode of the season. To me, parts of the plot did not make any sense, and it felt as though the writers knew what they wanted each character to do, but how they got them to those actions is questionable.

Ok, I also don't like that I can no longer listen to Seti se nase ljubavi without crying.

Great characters

What I really liked about the series is the social psychology in it. Characters (and actors) are believable, and would work in different settings. And that's where (for me) the true horror lies.

Unnecessarily long
17 September 2021
I was very interested in the documentary because I wanted to get some background for Osho's books, which are still quite popular among some of the people I know.

The main thing I like is that, unlike a lot of other documentaries, it doesn't subconsciously make you take sides by the end of it.

However, it was so unnecessarily long, I kept questioning myself throughout whether I had that much spare time for such a topic. It took me more than a month to finish it, and I still have a feeling of time wasted.

I also can't help to think that some of the important factors were intentionally left out of focus, and they're mostly money-related. Did they try to present it from an angle of an average member? Maybe, felt like that to me.

Interesting concept
22 October 2020
I like the concept, and I don't have a problem with chefs being judged by people that are not from the industry, since they cook for regular people in real life, and not just the professionals. What I don't like is the elimination system, since chef's weaknesses can be (and were) used to eliminate some of them prematurely. I would have enjoyed it a lot more if all the teams had participated until the finals, acquiring points (something like the Eurovision system), to make it more fair. The order of assignments really affects the outcome too much.

Black Panther (2018)

doesn't deserve so many 1 star ratings
2 December 2018
Really enjoyed this, it was very entertaining. It's definitely not your typical Marvel movie. I usually spend some time playing games on my phone during superhero movies, but not this one. I liked that it was different, no stupid jokes, endless fights and similar. Think it's rather harsh to give it a 1, definitely not the worst movie of my life. It's a movie about a different culture, with a different belief system, so of course it didn't meet everyone's expectations. I love that the fight between the good and the bad isn't that polarizing, and that it's not about who has more wealth and power. I love that it has strong female characters (that's what I expected to get from Wonder Woman, not the crap that we were served). I really hope that it will inspire some girls to follow their dreams, to be fearless, to be engineers... I love the visuals, the references to African culture. Love the soundtrack. Try to watch it without any expectations, and you'll enjoy it.

Hollywood, y u ruin everything?
8 February 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Having read the book first, I was very disappointed with the movie. A lot of things are different, and some of those changes affect the development of both characters and the story itself. I was deeply touched by the book, whereas that wasn't the case here. It seemed as though everything had been great until the bombs fell, no poverty and death everywhere. The horrors of war, in my opinion, were given a facelift. I hated the beginning. While reading about the death of Liesel's brother, it felt like I got slapped in the face. In the movie it was like poof, he's gone now. I suppose they didn't want to depress the audience from the very start. And the final scene with Rudy just ruined it for me, really.

But - Geoffrey Rush was wonderful, I felt the warmness of his silver eyes.

see blood, think ketchup
15 April 2010
i started watching this film not knowing what i could expect. don't know why, but i decided to watch it without reading the reviews first. and i must say i really enjoyed it, until it got to that bloody violent sex scene. both erotic and disgusting, i'm not sure i'd like to see it again. at that point i wasn't sure whether i should watch this film any further or not. i even thought about giving away the DVD! but i couldn't get it off my mind, so i continued watching. luckily, that was the only sickening part, and i started liking the film again.

all in all, the plot may be predictable, but i found it interesting and worth watching (minus that horrific sex scene, i'd skip it any day). the ending didn't disappoint me and the music did a good job in keeping me tense (even more than the story itself).
