Jackass: The Movie (2002)
Speaks For itself. Insane Genius.
No plot whatsoever, no real content, to be honest, this film has absolutely nothing that would make you wanna see it, except the Jackass crew!
So what if it is basically one long episode of Jackass! It's the best Jackass you will ever see.
Just about every skit is funny, you will be cracking up for the whole 90mins.
There will be those out there who can't see past the humour, but for those of us who can, long live Knoxville and the rest!
10/10
Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back (2001)
Chuckle Chuckle Chuckle
My favoutite out of the '5' is this one. Lots of people will not agree to that, which is fine. To find the whole film from start to finish funny, you really have to of seen Clerks, Malrats, Chasing Amy and Dogma.
An All star cast(Affleck etc.) lead the way for as Kevin Smith put it '90 mins of di*k and Fart jokes'. Well that's exactly what we got, and that's what was expected, and that's what everyone enjoyed!
Great to finally see Jason Mewes in a starring role, he and Smith carried this film very well.
Freddy Got Fingered (2001)
Crazy, messed up, disturbing.
Wot's even more crazy and messed up is the fact i actually laughed at this film! There is no plot whatsoever, yet you can happily sit through this movie and p**s your panties.
Tom Green may well need some serious help, i think he has issues, but then again so must I for liking it!
Alot of people bash this film, but it's well worth a watch with your mates on a drunken saturday night!
Road Trip (2000)
Teen Movie action at it's best
If you don't like Teen movies, then just click off this page now!
This film is very funny, with a decent casting as well. Tom Green is my personal favourite character in the movie, and as ever, he adds his very own strange Tom Green style to the role....(What is the mouse thing all about?!)
Anyway, if you like light hearted funny flicks, then this one is for you, I enjoyed it lots.
9/10.
Gone in Sixty Seconds (2000)
Decent.
It's basically one of many decent fast moving action films out there.
It's nothing special, but then again, i didn't come away hating it. It's the kinda film you can pick up half way through, and still understand what is going on.
Worth a watch, although you probably won't end up owning it on VHS or DVD.
6/10
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (1999)
Simple, Like the TV Show, You'll like the Movie
It's just basically one long episode of South Park. Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with that, it's what I expected, just some people have decided to take issue over the fact.
To me, the film is funny and entertaining, and if you like the seires then you will like the film, maybe a little over the top, but hey, it's South Park after all.
It will make you laugh, and unless you are a very boring character, you will enjoy it.
7/10.
The Big Lebowski (1998)
Sheer Quality.
This hs to be one of the funniest films ever. Although the humour is sometimes silly at times (notabely John Goodman!) it is highly entertaining. His constant abuse of the Steve Buscemi character leaves me laughing everytime.
Jeff Bridges' playing of the dude is probably equally as good as Goodman, cause let's face it, we all know somebody as fazed out as the Dude!
This is a true comedy, and surely one that everyone likes?!
Sleepers (1996)
Excellent Cast for an Excellent film.
This is a film some people may find hard to watch. It is really quite dark, and you won't find any comedy here.
If you have read the book, then I would say you would like the film, as the taking to the big screen has not really damaged it to much.
The story rests alot on morales, and is one of those films where you will get into arguments with your friends wondering who is right and who is wrong!
anyway, well worth watching, won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it.
8/10.
Happy Gilmore (1996)
Don't Expect too Much....
You know what you are getting with this film, lot's of laughs.
The Storyline is as unrealistic as you can get, but a well put together cast, carry it well, and will make you laugh from almost start to finish.
One of Adam Sandlers best films, and i promise you, it will make you laugh, (as long as you don't mind films that are carried by a comic actor, rather than a comic script!)
8/10.
The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
Mind Blowing, especially the first time!
If you are from another planet, and you haven't seen this film yet, you will simply be blown away by it.
The first time I saw this film, by the end credits I already knew this was the best film I was ever likely to see.
There's not much more to say about it, except it is sheer drama at it's best, with a purely fantastic ending.
Robbins and Freeman put in performances they will never repeat.
Forrest Gump got the '94 best picture award ahead of this. Don't get me wrong, Forrest Gump is good, but does in no way compare to this
11/10.
Wayne's World (1992)
Stupid, but hugely entertaining!
in theory, this films sucks balls. But in Practice, it turned out to be a very funny piece of work.
Mike Myers has turned what would seem to be the worst concept in film history, into a piece that will have you laughing your pants off.
No real plot, your typical slapstick plot, but that dosn't really matter, cause if you watch this film then expect no different.
It's also one film that I have enjoyed the follow up to.
7/10.
Beverly Hills Cop (1984)
Violent, Funny and Entertaining.
Yes, it's violent, but it is also a very entertaining funny film as well.
There have still not been many Murphy films that live up to this one. Judge Reinhold(also in the follow ups) aldo puts in what is still probably his best on screen performance to date.
Action, Laughs, Guns and tension, extremely good watch.
9/10.
Thunderbolt and Lightfoot (1974)
The Three E's, Enjoyable, Entertaining, Exciting
One of the more overlooked Clint Eastwood Films. The film itself is easily watchable, and with Clint you are always guaranteed to get an entertaining piece.
The film centre's around the unlikely relationship between Eastwood's character(Thunderbolt) and Lightfoot, played by the excellent Jeff Bridges.
The film will make you laugh as well as cry, this film is highly underrated, and If you are fan of Clint or Jeff Bridges, or you generally like a smooth, easy entertaining watch, then see it.
9/10.
Dirty Harry (1971)
A cracker full of one liners!
Clint Eastwood stars as the tough cop who likes next to nobody and plays by his own set of rules.
He is hated by his superiors, yet feared by the criminal. Dirty Harry is a fast moving action picture, that has moments of drama along with moments of Clint's sarcastic sense of humour.
It remains the best Dirty Harry film by far, although watching this one will leave you wanting to see the rest.
Well worth watching, but the question is, do you feel lucky.....
Coogan's Bluff (1968)
Good, but We all like Dirty Harry More....Don't We?
Had Eastwood not appeared in this flick, he may well not of been cast in the end for Dirty Harry.
However, this films runs along at a slow pace, and even for the avid Eastwood fan such as myself, was hard to watch.
At times it's funny, sadly poor co-actors in this film, also make it lame at times.
Very good motor bike chase, almost as good as the car chase from the French Connection, but that's about it to be honest.
6/10(purely for Eastwood being in it)
Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo (1966)
The 'Ultimate' Western? You Decide.
This Western has everything, and that's why in some quarters it is regarded as the best one ever made.
Arguably it took Eastwood until 'Unforgiven' to make a film that even comes close to this one.
The music score is fantastic, one that people from all generations enjoy and remember.
This film is sheer entertainment people, and with Clint, Van Cleef and Wallach, you have three actors that carry a hugely enjoyable piece to watch.
10/10.
