Run (2020)
the Police Woman's more interesting than the lead actors.
I agree with the previous review. I'm tired of these two horribly boring people who making more and more stupid decisions and auguring every step of their journey. I'm enjoying the police woman Cloud, who makes an appearance in Episode 7. I do not recommend wasting time with this series unless we can spend more time with the Officer.
Beat the Clock (1950)
Did the inclusion of a Black Family force "Hazel Bishop Cosmetics "to pull their Sponsorship?
I began about a couple of years ago watching Kinescope repeats of Beat the Clock on "the Game Show Network". It brought back many memories from when I originally watched it live when I was a kid. One night, among the repeats, I notice the inclusion of an African American family as contestants. I was surprised, and I guess so were a lot of the viewers in the fifties. Because the only time you seen Black people on Television in the fifties, were ether-portraying servants, or Musical entertainers appearing on Variety shows. But I did thought it was interesting that "Beat the Clock" included an African American Family that I think on their next appearance on the show to continue with their stunts, they had no sponsor.... It was too bad, but understandable that "Hazel Bishop Cosmetics " pulled their sponsorship on the family's second appearance. But one has to remember that in fifties and into the early sixties, Television networks and their sponsors did not want to offend their racist Network affricates in the South. So any appearance of Black on Television then was nil.... But I have applause Bud Collier and the producers for being bold enough to take the risk to include a Black Family on the show at a time when Black were beginning to make progress in terms of respect and dignity in the media.
The Devil Wears Prada (2006)
Will this film be headed for Sit-com land?
Just saw this very entertaining film tonight. I was a little reluctant going in, but glad I saw it. I began to think, that some where along the line, Fox might develop into a series for Television. Think about it all the elements of a typical television series that will work, and who knows, if it works it might become a hit series. But of course with different actors. I don't think Meryl Streep will not do a television series. ......What do you think? Can someone think of appropriate Televiaion actors who might fill the shoes of the principals of the film? Will the series still have the tone of the original motion pictures?
The Usual Suspects (1995)
A unintentional "Chick Flick"
I find it interesting that this movie is very popular among women. When it was originally released on Video, I always see a woman with his title in her pile of tapes that she's is renting for the evening. I find the film interesting and entertaining.
A buddy of mine who is a screen writer told me that the attraction of this movie to females is because of all the good looking HUNKS who star in this. Other films that I find fall into this category is:
The Right Stuff, The French Connection, Memphis Belle, Das Boot, and Crimson Tide
Am I right on this?
