The Dude Bro Scandal
10 April 2016
Warning: Spoilers
It's no secret Doug and the Nostalgia Critic are virtually the same at this point. In the wake of his return to reviewing he has simply put any movie he deems bad on his chopping block. Now that is not the worst thing to happen. The Cinema Snob has done this but unlike Doug is picking apart BAD films. Doug however is a different case. He dislikes films that have impacted him in some sort negative way.

The review has a rather dumb intro where Hell is located in his ass. Not kidding as it is relevant to the plot. He reviews the film of course only for him to miss the entire point of the film. The ship is now alive and can manipulate everything around it. Doug however seems to think Hell is located on the ship for no reason. This is why Hell is in his ass.He thinks that Hell has relocated because the movie is too cryptic. When in reality it is very easy to understand.

The final nail in the coffin is when he complains a bunch of Jocks used to say they liked the film. Doug apparently decided to think that means the film is bad because Dude Bro's like it. He continues saying that the films behind the scenes are more entertaining then the film which in part is true. Doug however doesn't seem to understand horror can be subdued.

Overall an extremely poor review.

Firefly: The Message (2003)
Season 1, Episode 14
3/10
The Unholy Trinity
19 January 2016
Warning: Spoilers
As I sit here binge watching this terrific series I came upon this episode. The Message is nothing short of filler and a disappointment of the highest caliber.

Story: Simon and Kaylee have relationship problems and the group end up having to spend quality time with a dead body. Only to find out said body is alive and smuggling organs. Tracey is said body and needs Mal and co's help running away. Only problem Mal and Zoe figure out he's a bad man. The perceived threat is dealt with and now they must return his dead body to the place of birth.

Pros: War flashback scene, Jayne, and Wash.

Cons: One of the biggest problems is Kaylee's immediate adoration and love for the corpse. She knows next to nothing and now she's into him. They share about 2-3 minutes on screen and nothing comes of it. It was clear at first Whedon wanted a love triangle but dear lord did that concept die in the hull. Simon clearly was written out of character and now he's a background character to a plot that should've been about he and Kaylee's relationship. Instead it's about Mal and Zoe learning their old ally is an asshole. We get arc words which play out in story which isn't bad but again Whedon clearly wanted a love triangle because the last scene is Kaylee handing over the recording of Tracey and she's all upset...ugh. Kaylee sweetheart he held a gorran GUN to your HEAD. He clearly isn't in to you.

Overall: Seriously terrible.

The Evil Within (2014 Video Game)

A Return to Form
14 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Shinji Mikami has always been troubled by the recent turn to action horror games have taken. In this new game her brings back the traditional RE style with RE4 gameplay and The Last of Us graphics. Making for a new experience for recent gamers and a treat for old gamers.

Story: As Detective Sebastian Castellanos you enter a strange world only to escape back into reality but unfortunately it follows you. You must traverse town, castle and forest to find the reason why this is happening while slowly uncovering a mysterious past.

Graphics: The game looks great by every standard on the platforms. While the PS3 and Xbox 360 may seem a little choppy it still looks pretty good. There is a lot of detail both in the action sequences and the slower moments making for a great experience.

Sound Design: Not much to complain about here everything is top notch. Voice acting and music are pretty good while the weapons and enemies are very chilling but fun to hear.

Controls: Actually pretty simple and that's good as their are plenty of moments that will get you jumping while you need to switch weapons. No button is useless and it feels nice that their is a short cut buttons (take that RE4).

Gameplay: Is RE4 style while having stealthy moments during some chapters. It makes for good variety and allows for multiple playthroughs. It also has an interesting customize system that is pretty unique to this game. If I have one problem is that sometimes the enemies detect you a little too soon.

Overall a very fun experience that older games will love and scare recent gamers.

Alien: Isolation (2014 Video Game)
9/10
Your eyes, ears and sweat will be your only allies
11 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Alien: Isolation is a different beast from the typical horror games. There are no overpowered weapons. No over abundance of ammunition or resources. There is only fear and that my friends truly describes how I played and experienced Alien: Isolation.

Let me start off by saying this game is in the vain of Amnesia and Slender where being careful and methodical is your best bet for survival. Even with this information you are not guaranteed survival. There is much more than that in this game you will witness horrors from that of Fallout 3 and New Vegas. You experience the cold sweat rolling down your face as the monstrous Xenomorph stares at you from inside your hidy hole. This is Alien: Isolation and my review.

Story: Amanda Ripley, Ellen Ripley's daughter, has bee working hard and trying to find closure for the disappearance of her mother. Her friend Samuels tells her of the flight recorder at the Sevastopol Station, a large ship similar to Nostromo. When they arrive things go from good to terrible. Stranded alone and no way of contacting her allies Ripley must find a way to establish contact with them. Along the way she meets something out of her nightmares and must save herself or die in the near derelict ship.

Presentation: The game looks very good and allows you to take the semi-futuristic and retro looking environment. Form the DOS computers and portable TVs give the game a very 1979 Alien vibe. The game also has a very unique PDA like system where large cassette players are situated for your listening pleasure. While the environment is important the human and inhuman NPCs also look very good. Early on you can see the characters likeness to the actors portrayed all except Ripley who is modeled after Sigourney Weavers mom in her younger years, since she portrayed her in Aliens. The Seegson Synthetic are one of the more interesting enemies at first glance they look like simple humanoid Artificial Persons however the developers gave them red eyes in the shadows. An ingenious graphical tip for any player. The Xenomorph is s site truly to behold. H. R. Giger's beautiful vision is accomplished in the game. Showing every detail he painstakingly put into.

Sound Design: As with most high profile games voice acting is very good. Nothing to complain about in this regard as for the games sound it is very other worldly. From the start you are in silence only with the whirs of the dead city filling your ears. Cues from the world around you offer a very discomforting experience especially from the star of the game. As it growls and wanders the hallways looking for you and you hold up the motion tracker all you can hear is panicked breathing.

Controls: One flaw with his game is the controls at times it's simple other times it can be a little overwhelming. During combat it is very difficult to switch to a more appropriate weapon. Other times you have stumble since the game has a vision alter button you won't use unless you have the motion tracker out.

Gameplay: This is where the game shines. During the game you will have to adjust your play style if you want to survive. Since the Xenomorph will learn from you you must learn from it. Combat is not the center of this game. You will have to rely on brain power to figure out the best strategy to fight the humans and synthetics. Will you use a flash-bang or lure them into a trap? The game also offers a crafting system which is a little hectic but bearable. Creating some items feel like you have something value versus something of uselessness. It has happened to me but hey I need to learn.

Overall A:I is a superb game that tests the player to their wits and emotional end. I give it a 9 out of 10.

The Walking Dead (2010–2022)

Go back to Comics
17 October 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Frank Darabont made this series. He did right and that is why it was successful WAS. You see after watching this season first episode I can say this series sucks. Frank had decent characters, good drama and great action. Now nothing makes me come back. Absolutely nothing makes me want to see Rick or Daryl.

OK sorry let me review this sucker. After being in a coma for a short time Rick awakens to a zombie outbreak complete with cryptic messages and expositional characters. OK I can get behind this it sounds good. Season one had the potential to start good and end good. This season ends rather bitter sweet which is nice.

Season two is slower and at least has a gripping side story that made us all love Daryl and hate Shane. Why? Due to the fact the characters were written competently however their were snags. New people getting introduced then dying. Hershel a side character in the comics is now a main character that's not bad part what is the bad part is that we see him as an antagonist then bam protagonist.

Season three was bad. No characters to sympathize with except Rick, Glen and Daryl. Lori dies thank god. Lori was an awful female lead. She was a double standard, condescending, two face person who didn't need to stay alive. The antagonist is just awful. I'm sorry but this Liam Nesson wannabe was bad.

Now that's over lets talk about action. Season one had good action scenes and stunt work. Season two not a lot of action but sporadic enough for someone to at least enjoy. Season three saw absolutely none unless the plot permits it. See those zombies in the background they are just there. No reason for existing just there.

Characters were well written at one point until Darabont was fired. Sadly that's when the writing made everyone into a stereotype. I hate Carl so much he isn't written at all. Thankfully the video game are so much better.

Misjudged Zombie Movie
17 October 2013
Warning: Spoilers
I am a huge zombie fan and of course I had to check this out. After reading the book I knew the movie wasn't going to be like the book. Due in fact to the words "production problems" seriously why does everyone think it's code word for "Don't worry we are polishing this movie/game. There is no problems at all." I know I'm ranting at this point but seriously you people need to learn English.

Anyway I sat down in a not so packed theater. A group of teens, an old couple and several couples with young children. The parents with children all left. The teens were horrified and the older couple were also enjoying themselves and you know what so was I. It's not perfect film but people are so damn hard on this film due to The Walking Dead. Let me say this after the first season WD was losing steam. I stopped watching when the second season was over.

Now onto the film oh god. Our hero Brad Pitt Er Gerry is normal ex- government man. On this particular day he drives through Philly and everyone knows from Romero movies Philly is the best place for a zombie flick. Soon zombie's plow through human meat and the story lumbers for a bit. I won't lie the film is slow...at really small intervals. I never felt bored with this film just angry at some idiots within this film.

Gerry's wife calls him in the middle of a big event which gets people killed. A bunch of Hebrews sing and then out of nowhere wall crawling zombies because sound draws them in. These two moments made me want to punch these people. Not the writers or producers. These everyday people who screw up. That was smart because as humans we can screw up big time.

Despite this I enjoyed the zombie effects and horror elements. Sure they weren't very scary but still effective. You see people want a direct adaptation of the book weren't doing research. I looked stuff up and they didn't. OK again rant over. My problem with this movie isn't anything too terrible.

First the formula was just stock. Gerry goes somewhere bad stuff happens. He goes somewhere else bad stuff happens. See formula, not a good thing. Second the inclusion of his family. Yeah he has one but nothing comes from it. They are just there unfortunately. Third unfortunately was the cgi. I know people have said it before but oh well. This movie could've used people for zombies but no, some scenes are just cg. Not saying it breaks the movie but good god hire people.

Despite this I did enjoy this movie it was fun and very pleasing to this zombie fan. Overall 7 out of 10.

Gumballs Unique World
16 January 2013
Warning: Spoilers
I have been around some major nostalgia geeks who perceive anything as new bad. I saw this one night flipping through channels and noticed a wacky promo for the show. I was interested but after a few weeks it faded out of my memory. Then several months passed and I saw the first two episodes and I was instantly hooked.

The show circles around an anthropomorphic cat and his brother/best friend Darwin. Together they get into wild and sometimes strange adventures. The show also focuses on their sister Anisis, mother Nicole and father Richard. They all have their quirks and generally are funny.

Thats one of the positives and negatives of the show. Some humor makes me laugh...hard other jokes are flat. The Pressure while not bad had a rather unfunny joke mid way through and broke the episodes enjoyability. Another Negative is the sometimes odd use of staging a joke. Many times the show will stage a joke too late or too early which may be due to it being from Europe who's humor is different.

However the superb voice acting from the main and supporting cast shine through making it a very good vocal cast. The animation styles are very fun and refreshing. My personal favorite thing about the show is the overly happy soundtrack which include it's rarely used into and the numerous songs in the episodes.

Overall I love this series and recommend it to anyone.

The Sad Truth
8 January 2013
Warning: Spoilers
I have enjoyed Matt and Amy since their beginning years on TLC and now their next big step. With the kids gone or at least the two boys and the girl. Matt and Amy wish to help make a magical day special with funding from the soon-to-be married and guidance by the wedding designer Matt and Amy embark on a new show.

I have seen the episode which a couple wanted a Hawaiian theme and Zack the smaller twin wanted to leave. The episode was fun t times with Matt being his usual "I'mma get it done right" attitude and Amy's "Let's get this ball rolling" attitude. There was just one problem just one kid and an entire farm to themselves. It just became a realization that everyone gets older and leaves.

Seeing Matt without Jeremy or Jake is just odd. The absence of Molly is just odd as well. The kids were part of a show that allowed people to see things from their perspective now that perspective is gone and replaced by a desire to make people happy but now without the family coming together. Without the kids and the challenge it's lost it's hook Little People in a Big Unforgiving World.

Here Comes Honey Boo Boo (2012–2017)
1/10
Honey Boo Boo and Gravy Mama
8 January 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Honey Boo Boo is a fan favorite of the pageant scene and of course got he own show the problem it sets back southerners for 500 years. TLC just doesn't understand kids aren't worth our time unless they have a quirky family life or parents who act like parents.

Her mom or "Mama" is a rather rotund woman who fits the bill perfectly for "Insert baby maker here" as she has had four children with at least four men. The other bill is "Stereotypical white trash" as she wakes up, goes to the bathroom and sleeps food. A relatively infamous line of hers is "If had two thumbs I'd pick up more cheese balls." It was due to someone having two thumbs and she made into a food joke.....classy. Speaking of food the family has somehow made these following terms "Forklift Food" and the most disgusting thing "Neck Crust".

Now the dad or "Sugar Bear" is the father of Alana and recent boyfriend he is just like mama stereotypical. The only likable character is Glitz a pig....who dies. In any case I don't look down on southerners I just dislike idiots.

Scum
8 January 2013
Warning: Spoilers
In the wake of their high ratings of Jon and Kate Plus Eight TLC decided to start airing shows for people to respond towards the show. J&K had Kate a borderline psychopath who wanted fame, fortune and a body to die for and Jon wanted a quiet life. T&T has moms whoring their children so they can feel accomplished for what they have done.

TLC was smart enough to never speak a word of this show since they didn't confirm or deny they followed these practices. Smart but the show has become lamb basted for abusive parenting which in todays society is a huge no no.

The children are "forced" (I say that in quotations due to some kids being dumb enough to accept the prodding and poking of uncut finger nails) to wear heavy makeup the makes the children as fake Sarah Jessica Parker looking sexy. They also end up parading in small clothes that unfortunately make them look like mini call girls.

However one can not put all the blame on the moms. The dads seem to resist it until his precious is crying on her stomach because she wants to play or the mom verbally threatens him with divorce (it has happened). Dad of course by the ends turns to the camera and says "Well if she likes it she can do it".

Sadly though this is not the worst it gets in real life children have been kidnapped and murdered due to these types of abuse. In any event this show is awful for it's content and it's message.

Dance Moms (2011–2019)

My Re-Do Review
8 January 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Dance Moms is set in The Abby Lee Dance Company and is a drama based show focusing on the mothers and the dance instructor Abby. The show is on it's third season and currently a ratings goldmine. So what makes this show so addictive? Well its the characters and relationships. Abby is the instructor who has little patience for any mistakes and the mothers constant prying. She is not the main source of the problem but a big one (no pun intended). She has yelled, demeaned and even caused the girls to cry but at the same time she does seem to care. She has shown some level of love for her students and seems to want them to succeed in their ventures.

The moms are rather high privileged women with a great deal of hatefulness for the dance instructor. One in particular named Kelly has got up and quit before and even came back because her daughters didn't want to leave their friends. Jill is quite fickle at times. She will tell Abby of the things the moms do and then turn around to call Abby names. She wants her child to be the best but her way of proving it is showering Abby with gifts.

The girls while not the main focus should be since sometimes the show paints them as unintelligent girls who are just pretty.

However Cathy is the one that seems to be the catalyst for all the hate on the show. Cathy has hit, spit poured water down the heads of the moms and insulted the girls. She has very little patience for failing and is one sore loser. She is known for using her money for everything such hiring other dance instructors to do her job for her and even paying for ridiculous costumes. She also is underhanded for trying to get sympathy votes from the judges since she uses boys in a girls "sport".

It's not a terrible show but one that is for certain crowd just not my kind of crowd.

Transit: Where Movie making Dies
29 December 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Transit is an action, driving movie where weak scripts and acting are useless and the only thing good is the location.

A family is in ruins after the father has been in jail due to fraud. In their travels a group of dumb ineffective criminals decide to hide their money with their camping gear. After this the movie tries to go Transporter on our minds. High octane car chases ensue and of course the movie tries to do it's thing or lack there of. In a way if it any different this movie would've made a decent start a strong ending but unfortunately it takes a massive acting and script plunge.

What's wrong with the acting and scripting? How about a sadistic car driver turned worried Samaritan. A villain who stays in "I'm a villain" mode throughout but somehow pulls this off like lead being a taco. Then a spat between the wife and husband is a whisper fight. Emoting is also nonexistent throughout since the villains also whisper aside from the busty female villain who is actually the only decent actor.

Finally we come to the biggest flaw the action scenes. Wanna here the same chords played during an action scene neither do I but apparently the editor does. How about an "extreme" U-turn that has NOTHING of noteworthy value. My favorite however is the lack of an alligator eating anyone. A gun fight which somehow a mom turns into a sharpshooter. Again this movie kills everything it tries to do and then some.

Transit is the worst action movie in while no doubt there.

Brake (I) (2012)

Inceptionizing at it's worst
26 October 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Inception: In-sept-shun Def: Blow peoples minds and they'll give you money. Verb: Inceptionize

Brake: Br-ache Def: In a box for an hour and incept-ionize people only to get them angry. Verb: crap

In a movie tension is important carry that throughout then you're good. Brake had me from start to "call my wife". I didn't find it stupid or contrived I just thought "Wait a minute this seems familiar." Inception was creative with it's incept-ionizing. Brake is unfortunately guilty of trying a bit too hard.

Our main character Jeremy is in a box....that's brilliant and no I'm not kidding. I seriously was overjoyed to get the kind of what is going on? We feel just like him scared and confused. When he got the phone it went downhill. Having all these kinds of people interact with him was odd. Friends, their families, his girlfriend and co-workers it all seemed dare I say convenient. It really made me think if he can do this why not drop the phone their no leverage. Get him out earlier and this time try harder.

The ending infuriates me nothing worse than "Oh yeah we're gonna still have this going full swing." and then dead.

I felt all the rage intended for those characters at the writers. If you want me to get behind a guy like him then don't make him die. I hate that in cinema and here are how these writers come up with this.

"Gee Stan he's in the ambulance and he reveals the secret." "Well Bob we can't have him go all Jason Statham on us." "Let's kill him our audience will never see that coming." "Yeah then let's not show them what happens."

It's a kick to the audience to have all this tension and then end in sever disappointment.

Slenderman's first movie....ehhhh
29 August 2012
Warning: Spoilers
If this was all about Slendy and his original mythos it would've been a far creepier than this. Not saying it isn't creepy but unfortunately the quality of the movie suffers from the quantity of horror moments. Zombies, pseudo-slendermen and the now iconic Slenderman share the screen but that is one of the problems with the movie. Acting isn't bad but it has tendencies to go either over the top or underwhelming. The whole mockumentary isn't a bad thought but again it feels underwhelming after so many movie's have tried it. Even low budget films have done this and B movies have done it better but again it's a good try . Overall it's a decent attempt but in all honesty scores 5 slendy's out of 10.

Batman: The Animated Series: Bane (1994)
Season 3, Episode 1
8/10
Closest animated version of Knightfall
11 August 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Bruce Timm and Paul Dini view Bane as a Gimmick character. Only appearing 4 episodes, one in each series he's present in, Bane comes at us in this episode.

One might think this will be a true adaptation of his famous comic he appeared but not exactly. A few things that are similar is, he is super intelligent, super strong, defeats Killer Croc, tells Batman to scream his name and does the iconic pose where he is about to break the Batman.

The differences are as followed, he is an assassin for hire (Bane), he is hire by Rupert Thorne, has a love affair with Thorne's Secretary, beaten by Batman and finally but most crushing of all no breaking our heroes back.

This episode did do a lot of the right things but it seems Dini and Timm just decided to make an episode to shoe us Batman is superhuman. I mean Batman is almost beaten to death. He can hardly move but then magically he's raring to go. Robin isn't very well done in this episode but he does have a cool moment where he fights Bane.

Overall this episode isn't great but in fairness it does a lot of things right. So I'll give this episode an 8 out of 10.

Also I swear it sounds like Bane calls Batman "Bateman".

A perfect example of a Unintentional Sequels being awesome
18 May 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Lucio Fulci is often considered to be the Godfather of Gore and this film seems to prove that he can pull off the gore but a well done film. First off let me just say it was condemned for being a video nasty and unfortunately became an underground film. After the internet however it became famous for the two brutal scenes.

The film was shot on location and very well edited together. The actors Tisa Farrow and Ian (I forget his last name) are completely believable although not as deep as Romero's characters. The music to me at least is hit and miss. Sometimes it was good other times it was so misplaced.

The best part however was the gore. Lucio was great at pulling this stuff off and of course this movie did amazing. The makeup effects are really good but unfortunately no ones seems to credit the guy who did it.

Overall I love this film but it isn't my favorite zombie film.

Return of the Living Dead: No It's Not a Sequel
26 October 2011
Warning: Spoilers
Zombie films can be very different from each other. Romero's zombie films are bleak and often riddled with social commentary. This movie is horror/comedy. You know when a director has the balls to do something different from the popular stuff, this is that director.

The story is basically a twist on NotLD where it was a real incident but Romero was told to fictionalize everything so the government wouldn't sue his ass. From this point on the film becomes a pretty good suspense and decent comedy. So the first half is comedy and suspense then BAM action/horror. That twist by itself works this film into the crack of genius.

If this movie was made for zombie fans then it delivered since I am a huge zombie fan. I did have one beef and that is the sequel bait. I don't like sequel bait. Other than that it was great.

A Bucket of Blood: A Man of Wax
25 October 2011
Warning: Spoilers
I walked into my Wal-Mart and saw a four pack with Return of the Living Dead, Swamp Thing, A Bucket of Blood and Frogs. Instead of RotLD I started with A Bucket of Blood thinking it was a not so unique film of disgust. I was so wrong I slapped myself.

I saw a very artsy kind of film. The look and feel of the film was very good at blending the world of this movie. The acting was amazing Dick Miller was a superb demented man but it was the heart of his character that hooked me.

In truth the film didn't do so well. However it has been praised in recent years for it's very unique take on the beatniks. Over all I love this film.

Killer Crocodile: Worse Than An Elephant
21 October 2011
Warning: Spoilers
While its not the greatest creature feature out there Killer Crocodile. It has the makings of decent Italian B-Movie however it fails for a few reasons. First the characters are extremely flat and feel forced when near the end. Plus most of them don't have a clear personality. The second reason it feels is due to the complete disregard for certain plot elements. The radioactive material is just skipped over from time to time. It wouldn't be so bad but they reference the stuff a few times. Finally the crocodile while it looks decent is by far the weakest part of the film. It's mouth just seems to open its mouth wide every time it eats. However it makes up for these things with the dubs very cheesy lines and over-the-top death for the crocodile.

Cast in the Name of God, Ye Not Guilty
2 October 2011
Warning: Spoilers
When I was a little kid I watched this show like crazy. I picked it up recently and re watched the series. It was a superb show with a very Gothic and noir feel. The characters were very interesting and had a good bit of development. The anime has been loved and ridiculed but for me it will always be my favorite mecha anime ever. I would say not to watch season 2 it was very strange and I didn't enjoy the ending. I also found the action was the focal point of the second season and not the mystery of Paradigm City. The animation however was good and the dubbing was also very well done. Overall I found this anime to be the best and most nostalgic anime I watched. I suggest picking it up and watching it.

Cowabunga!!
7 September 2011
Warning: Spoilers
In my youth I was looking through a pile of old VHS tapes and I saw the TMNT logo. Intrigued I put it in and I was immediately a fan. I watched every episode. Bought countless toys and even played the video games. I can't help but love the series and I still love to watch it. I have owned the first and second season for about 3 years and haven't stopped watching the cartoon.

Despite this I dislike the middle set of seasons due to the overly comedic and less than creative story. If you want to good set of episodes get seasons 1,2,3,8,9. They may not be connected but they are the best story wise.

Trust (I) (2010)
Kids today, adults tomorrow...
4 September 2011
Warning: Spoilers
There is no question that this movie is geared towards the crowds of people who talk in chat rooms. Nonetheless these types of film need to be seen by tweens and teens.

The plot itself revolves around a young girl named Annie. She has been talking to a "boy" named Charlie. They hit it off and Annie begins to have feelings for him. Charlie slowly reveals his true age, 30's, and wishes to meet.

From this point Annie's life spirals out of control. Her parents find out and the FBI questions her about the incident. School is worse for her now and she can't help but feel like everyone is making it a "federal case".

In the end she learns Charlie doesn't love her and she must now live with her feelings.

The best thing about the movie is the acting. Clive Owen in particular was a spot on father figure. Going on an obsessive tangent to find the perv who defiled his daughter.

However the movie did have a two problems with me. Annie at first is a typical teen and is insecure. In the middle she changes from this to a girl who believes Charlie loves her and they will live happily ever after.

The second was the mother while she was a great parent her relationship with her husband was horrible. She couldn't see why he wanted to bring the predator to justice and she threw a fit about this.

Despite this I loved the film and felt that teens should see it.

Pani poni dasshu! (2005– )
10/10
Randomness at its core
30 October 2010
Many anime have been very comedic and random but Pani Poni is just too weird. In one of the first scenes we actually meet God (a cat) who actually heats soda with his body....OK. The main thing that makes this anime really good is the characters. All of them are just stereotypes but thats not bad. There is a "plain" girl and a "hyper" girl which is pretty accurate. The animation is pretty good and pulls off the cute girl format very well. The weakest part of this anime is just the character Ichijo which she is supposed to be the weird girl but she comes off evil too. The openings and closings are relatively good. They are catchy and cute. Overall I enjoy this anime a lot.

Jurassic Park (1993)
10/10
A Classic Movie
12 September 2010
Warning: Spoilers
If you lived in the 90's you know this movie was big. However I was a child when I saw this I was freaked out just by the first two minutes. After a few years it resurfaced on a VHS tape. Again I was too freaked out but this time by the T-Rex. Finally the third time was the charm. Me and a friend sat down and watched it. I couldn't believe what I missed. After 12 years of watching "Walking with Dionsaurs" I finally got that "Holy crap that was awesome".

The movie itself has a good plot. After finding Dino D.N.A. scientists manage to clone Dinosaurs. After a fews they need an endorsement from someone. They find three people and of course at first everyone wants too. After a greedy Newman powers down the park and Dino's rule the land. The movie goes far to show these Dino's are beyond our imagination. The T-Rex is an all powerful creature, the velociraptors are smart and deadly.

The CGI in this film is really well done. I really can't tell the difference between robotic. The actors show the emotion that most people would show when seeing these creatures. Even the score was amazing which was done by John Williams.

Overall my favorite Dino movie.

Dairy of an Awful Child
4 September 2010
Everyone has the same problem in school. "I wanna be cool but no one likes me" but we suck it up and be ourselves. DoaWK isn't that movie, I initially was hoping for a good family film but instead I got this.

First off our "hero" Greg is a deluded, self-absorbed, ego maniac who must be popular. His friend Rowley is a childish yet good hearted person. Greg takes this to full effect and make Rowley (forgive the language) his bitch. Greg says jump over fire Rowley does so. Greg wants ketchup and maple syrup sundaes Rowley makes it.

We have very little interest in Greg at first but we begin to like him until he begins treating everyone like he is god. Of course nothing happens to him but still. Throughout the movie we see no one likable except Rowley. Patty the resident snob is probably one of the worst characters ever as she hates everyone and must have everything her way.

Finally the subplots were terrible. Cheese is not a subplots it's my lunch. Overall its a failure.
