Armored (2009)
I was let down with this one!
I am so angry to the point i normally down make reviews with spoilers but in this case I'll make an exception. The first scenes of this movies are weak and then when they get to the meat and potatoes of the movie it sucks. This is one movie were i rooted for the bad guys because the captain-save-the-day was unbelievable and there was no connection to him or nothing to make you like him. The lead actor gave the weakest performance and Laurence Fishburne or Matt Dillon couldn't even save this movie. Sometime there are eye openers or great moments in a film that may not be that great..this movie has none. If you are looking for a movie to see in the meantime while nothing peeked your interest...don't choose this one..save your money.

Best Described as a block buster mixed with a visual acid trip
Let me start by saying i went to see this movie in 3D which i would say made a huge difference. You need to go see this movie in 3D version while it's in theaters, no exceptions. The Movie has a good story line and it was action packed. Visually this movie is mind blowing and you will feel like you on a drug minus the negative effects drugs have. I am not promoting drug use or nor have I've done drugs and just using as an metaphor to describe how trippy you feel. You kind of feel you are really there in outer space and your actually in the forest with these vibrant colors. I am glad my gf assisted a pond me going. It's a good movie despite the so-so or weak movies that are currently out. I believe this film with have the same branding style that the matrix had, because before both films we never saw nothing with a signature like it before. I don't want to give anything away ...i just want to say bravo to everyone that worked on putting this together..well worth my 14 dollars
Precious (2009)
I was pleased but left wanting more!!!
This is a good story that needed to be told in Hollywood and I believe a lot of people will leaving the theater relating to this story in one way or another. The Cast was really good and the directors vision and creativeness on how everything was presented was very different and refreshing. This movie has a little bit of everything, Laughs, Tears and just real life living. Now that i spoke on the good things i will speak on the cons. For one i felt there didn't travel to a lot of places story wise which isn't bad but limited..kinda like going to a play. They really took the time to stress certain things overly and I would have liked to use that time to lay more background story and explain more stones that weren't completely turned over. The movie ends in a place where you still have questions and left me looking for more to hold on to and for more of a finale. This movie is good but it leaves me wanting to read the book so i can understand more in perspective and explain everything to me. I felt like i had two strikes going against me for one, a damn young couple who bought their baby to the theater and the baby wouldn't shut up or get it together. Instead of getting up and packing it up like decent people they kept they baby in the theater...i was heated and that stopped me from getting into it .but i digress,..seconding I listened to people hype this movie up to the point my expectations were high to begin with and that's not a good thing, cause when it comes to movie's you find the most diverse opinions so go and see it for yourself with an open mind and get out of it what you will and what you leave behind, someone will take away the rest. I give it somewhere between a C+/B-. From recent movies i saw lately i would put it slightly below Blind Side in rankings.
The Blind Side (2009)
A real good feel good movie!
I enjoyed myself. I left the theater feeling good and I had no qualms towards this movie. All the actors did their thing and very well cast. I know that this movie seems like it's been done a million times, Someone well off helping the less fortunate, which is why i was apprehensive at first but after seeing it that didn't take anything away from it. The fact it was well done and based on a real life story gives it creditability. A good and safe movie for a date or for the family whatever your demographic. I definitely want to own it on DVD when it comes out.you can check out my other movies reviews to get a better handle toward my views and opinion to see if my opinions are compatible to your own.Everyone has completely different views when it comes to movies but one thing is for sure it can't hurt if more people like a movie. That can only grantee the movie you are going to see if worth the admission.
Law Abiding Citizen (2009)
What a thriller ride!!!
I like the fact this movie didn't get too strange or take too long to get to the point, as movies usually do these days. Great story line, Lots of Action and good cast and keeps you thinking and trying to figure it out. I wouldn't say it's a classic but one of the better movies I've seen recently. The price of admission is definitely worth it. Only thing is i would had liked them to make hints or room for a following sequel. Another factor I use to rate movies is the re-watching factor. This is a movie i don't feel i was need to own the DVD but if it came on cable i probably watch it again once maybe twice, but not over and over like movies like good-fellas, fugitive or ghost..i can watch those movies over and over and over.
This Is It (2009)
Very nicely done
I hate hyping movies up cause i feel everyone is going to view something differently and you should go with an open mind but personally i liked it. My girl dragged me to go but i am glad she did. It gave me a different perspective towards Michael Jackson as a person. If you grow up to MJ like i did and you go with a bunch of friends and family who can relate it is a fun and pleasant ride for the whole audience to get into. It also makes you appreciate the level of MJ and his whole team around him. It also had a majestic airiness around it with all it captured. I never knew a concert could be this off the hook. If he got the chance to carry it out it would have been a show the worlds never seen..he pushed the boundaries on this one..This movie is the closest i will ever get to going to a MJ concert.
The Men Who Stare at Goats (2009)
Worst movie i seen in a while
I felt like out of all the movies out now...and i know there's not a lot to choose from, but i should have spent my money on another movie. I could have dealt with 2012, couples retreat, Tyler Perry's i can do bad, Christmas carol, Chris rock's bad hair, This is it,etc. It was below my expectations the trailer delivered and to be honest i was embarrassed for suggesting to my GF who sat there trying to get into it and fell asleep. I laughed out loud only like once and that was one of the parts i saw in the trailer. No way do i believe the avg vote for this movie should be so high..IMDb is usually on point with their avg viewer ratings but this one was a curve ball.
