Last of the Living (2009)
A Most Excellent Zombie "B" Movie
The plot sounds simple enough, three friends find themselves surviving a Zombie holocaust, where humanity are practically extinct; and find delight in a good game of Zombie-baseball, shopping at local zombie stores, finding survivors and passing their time as couch potatoes. "It sounds just like another lazy Sunday-afternoon, right." Not that simple, when you're surrounding by millions of munchies zombies out for a day on the town." I like this movie, is a sort of couch potatoes (Shaun of the Dead), 28 Days Later, and Zombieland combined. I was pleasantly surprise by a good simple story of surviving a Zombie holocaust; the acting was good and relationship between the characters great. It has a type of haunting sort of atmosphere with a good sound track, funny scenes, it lingers at the palate. If you are expecting an "A" movie, you will not find it here; but is a most excellent B zombie movie, sure to become a cult-classic. This is the type of guilty pleasure you enjoy with a couple of buddies, a few beers and some good munchies.
Zombieland (2009)
A Most Excellent Zombie Comedy
This delightful stylish zombie comedy delivers the chills, thrills and laughter. It sets a perfect sample what a good zombie comedy or any movie should be-- great characters meet a good story. Two desperados out to survive the zombie new world setting up rules and eating Twinkies, meet up with two of the toughest bitches still kicking, and set out to prove that their still fun in a world where humanity membership has expired.
This movie packs a punch starting with a well crafted story, full of tension and funny scenes, I'm a sucker for the cardio scene where it show is good to keep fit, and when in doubt kill it twist. Nothing like a good Twinkie binch to bring the hero in anyones soul.
I urge to go out and rent or buy this one, a most for zombie movie collectors. Watch it with a couple of friends and your favorite munchies.
