The Pianist (2002)
10/10
Excellent, 10/10

Best film I've seen in several years. Can't get some of the images out of my head even days later. Brody was fabulous, as was the cinematography. The use of classical music as an incentive for Szpilman to survive was brilliantly realized.

The Guru (2002)
OK Midwinter fun

I enjoyed it ... I didn't go into the theatre with super-high expectations, and its not Academy Award material obviously, but it made me smile for a couple of hours, tap my toes to the (too infrequent) musical numbers, and enjoy the eye candy that is Jimi Mistry :-D A pleasant piece of fluff and I always like the opportunity to see the very funny Christine Baranski (underused in Chicago).
