The Munsters (2022)
Camp, cheese, and so much fun.
If you're looking for a "Rob Zombie" dark reinvention with dark, creepy themes, you'll surely be disappointed. If you're looking for the kind of camp and goofiness that made the original Munsters great, you'll find it here.
A lot of origins were explained well, why Herman thought he was funny, why Igor the bat seemed more than just a bat, where did Spot come from....
I understand that some people will hate it because it's not the usual Rob Zombie fright fest, but that's what made it unique and wonderful. This movie truly is a live letter from Zombie to a world he's long held dear.
If you want to spend a few quality hours with old friends and enjoyed the original material, give this a shot.
Saw III (2006)
Kind of Pointless
I really enjoyed the first two Saw movies, and looked forward to more of the same in the third installment. What I got more of though was just the violence and senseless mutilation. The whole thing seemed kind of pointless to me, as if they crew were just trying to fit as much violence and gore into it as they could.
To me the progression of the storyline in the movie seemed very choppy as well, with a lot of flashbacks and side scenes such that it made it hard to concentrate on the storyline. I also felt that there were too many unanswered questions remaining for the movie to appear to be the final part of the series.
All in all, if you've seen the other two and enjoyed watching the movie for the plot twists and the dramatic irony in the big reveals at the ends, this movie does not equal its predecessors. If you just want to watch a movie for the violent content, this movie is a great way to waste the time.
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (2005)
Incredible Bow for a great story string
This movie not only ties together the events of the first two, but manages to lead us into A New Hope with a fuller understanding of the forces that drive the events in the initial three films. I cannot remember how old I was when I first saw Star Wars, but I was 2 when it came out, and I do remember faithfully seeing ESB and RotJ in the theaters when I was growing up. I had a large collection of the toys, and have resisted the urge, for the most part, to read any of the multitudes of fiction out there based in this universe until I knew the whole story. Now I know, and what a great series Lucas has made. The thing that shocked me was that parents had their sub-13 children in this movie, despite having heard personally from a number of places that this was the most violent of the series and that it was a "bloodbath" as well. The movie definitely played into that, but how else can you eliminate the large Jedi population without it. I think personally the darkest part of the entire series was always ESB, which made it the best for me, but it might have just been replaced by Revenge of the Sith. This movie is sure to affect anyone who's a fan of the series, and perhaps might even cause those are not fans of the series to take a second glance. The critics who cite stilted dialogue might have a point, but points to consider in that realm are the situations involved. Who hasn't felt after a particular conversation that some of what they said was awkward and stilted?
From Justin to Kelly (2003)
Wasn't Horrific
This movie wasn't horrific, as long as you can suspend for a moment your disbelief than anyone anywhere just breaks out into song during moments of their life. However, that aside, and aside from the script being sort of a weak re-hash of old mistaken-identity, evil-friend love stories, you must admit that Kelly is one hot babe. I'd see the movie again on some lonely weekend if there were no sheep. Are there sheep?
