La Brea (2021)
100% one of the worst acted Shows I've ever seen
All I can say is: "wow". And that isn't a good wow.
The acting in this show is atrocious. It's so bad that I was just hoping for the first episode to end so I never had to watch it again.
Goddamn. How do people like this work in Hollywood? Who watched this pilot episode and was like: "YEP! THIS IS IT".
Because...no. No this isn't it. Not even close.
3/10.
Selling Sunset (2019)
Houses are interesting, cast/production is not
This show seems like it could be great; the properties and houses being shown off are exciting to see and absolutely beautiful...
But, unfortunately, the show is mostly about the cast and they just can't seem to pull it together. The show is WAY overproduced...everything seems forced, set-up and incredibly awkward...whoever field produced this needs to find a different job because...yikes.
Is it any surprise that the series had to bring in a successful soap actress, married to a star of "This Is Us", to try and bring some clout to this show? Not really...
After 2 episodes, this is going to be a hard pass from me. Bummer
Rent: Live (2019)
Amazing ideas/poor follow through
I love that Fox wanted to tackle something as complex as RENT.
The set, direction, art and costumes are all phenomenally done.
The band is GREAT.
But the casting of this musical...I just don't understand using "up and comers" who CANNOT sing over established stage vets who could rock the house down.
Collins was amazing. Mark was great. Other than that...it's a hard pass from me on the cast. Valentina was AWFUL. Jesus. I get that she's "hot" right now, but she should not sing on stage. Can we get someone like Todrick? A guy who can pull off drag AND actually sing and dance.
This was a valiant attempt at doing something strong and provoking, but it fell tragically flat
Tomb Raider (2018)
The Game, this is NOT
I'm going to keep this short: this movie is not great.
The main villain is HORRIBLE cast and is not intimidating at all...
Laura's sidekick is one of the worst actors I've seen in a blockbuster in quite a long time and serves zero purpose in the overall movie...
And, although the movie is SUPPOSED to be about a strong, independent woman...that message gets lost because of that fact that a character you think is dead, comes back for the SOLE purpose of validating Lara AS a strong female. So...she still needs a man's blessing to be her own person...ok...
Either way, aside from some cool scenes/shots that give service to fans of the video game, the movie is quite forgettable and is something that's been done about a million times before...and better.
Save your money and wait for Redbox
Resident Evil: Retribution (2012)
One of the WORST Movies I've EVER seen
This movie was absolutely awful. Only 2 things even kept me in my seat: Barry and Ada.
Casting: Awful.
Story: Even more confusing and AWFUL
Relation to the ACTUAL RE series: Not there at all. You can't just add in Character names and hope that fans will be happy. Leon's name could've been Steve and it would have made NO difference to me...no development. AT. ALL.
I'm sure that last movie is going to be, literally, 90 minutes of constant DUBSTEP and Fighting...which will make me feel exactly how Alice did in that STUPID holding cell.
The only thing I'm very happy about is that the next movie will be the LAST by Paul Anderson.
Thank God.
