Terror at Tenkiller (1986)
EXTREMELY boring...
This has to be one of the most boring slashers I have ever seen. Nothing happens... and when it does it's so slow and totally without enthusiasm, from the makers side. We have seen the story a 100 times, the acting is so bad it's not even funny, there's hardly any effects and the kills are uninspired. Even Oasis of the Zombies is more "fun" to watch than this one... and THAT says a LOT about Terror at Tenkiller! Then there's that music... it's so flat and (surprise, surprise) boring. It takes the suspense out of any situation. Not good...
I would not recommend this flick to my worst enemy. Watch paint dry instead... that's a kick in the head, compared to this c***!
Fantom kiler 2 (1999)
Oh my god, what a piece of s***!
I just got Fantom Kiler 2 for christmas. I've read that it should be rather extreme and very sick. "YES, that's just what I need", I thought to myself. Well, first of all this "movie" is about the worst piece of crap, I have ever seen and I've seen a lot of it (crap, that is). It's not EXTREME in any way, it's just extremely boring and badly made. Somewhere in the movie i think there's a plot of some kind, but when it all comes down to it, it's just breasts and killing hookers. There are a lot of breasts and shots of masturbation, but when it comes to the murder scenes, it just gets too dumb. I won't even get into the murder scenes, because they are so laughable badly made, that i can't find the words to describe it. Most of the movie is shot on indoor sets, that would have made Ed Wood laugh his ass off. And on top of it all, the acting must be the worst I've seen in years and I don't know what the directors job has been on this no-budget-flick, because he certainly haven't been directing.
A few good nude scenes, but the rest is so z-grade that I got a headache watching it. If this is the future of no-budget filmmaking, then count me out. I'll wait for the next from Timo Rose, Olaf Ittenbach and Andreas Schnass instead. They do offer some kind of quality, this s*** absolutely doesn't-
In short: Stay away! Go watch paint dry instead.
Black Past (1989)
Brilliant Debut...
Brilliant debut by german gore favorit Ittenbach. It's a VERY well produced no budget splatter movie with all the Ittenbach characteristics, such as dumb german humor and of course over-the-top gore sequenses! It's just as good as Premutos and better than The Burning Moon and even better than the low budget Legion of the Dead, which was a real letdown. Be sure to get the Olaf Ittenbach Collection on DVD, with a new and restored version of this fantastic flick, together with Burning Moon, Premutos, the old version of Black Past as well as a bonus disc with trailers of his new flick Beyond the Limits (Looks really cool), behind the camera and so on.
