The Railway Men: The Untold Story of Bhopal 1984 (2023)
A must watch series recommended by the Victim himself !!
I am from bhopal Kamla Park area, I was 9 months old victim of the gas tragedy. When the gas leaked, my parents took me on a bicycle to my uncle's house up at arera colony approximately 8kms from their house. I have seen the aftermath of the gas tragedy first hand, been in the que of court hearing for compensation. I have learnt number of things about the gas tragedy by multiple accounts but beleive me when I watched this series, I got goosebumps imagining the cincumstances...
The story, writing, acting, theatrics, dialect, costume even the 40 year bhopal was too real to be true...
I really appreciate everyone who participated in this series to voice the pain of thousands, there have been many others attempts at portraying the disastrous event of Union Carbide, but this one stands out by far.
Moreover, I didn't know the contribution of railwaymen in this tragedy, they have my heartfelt gratitude and condolences for their loss.
This is a must watch series and anyone who feels this series deserves anything less than a full 10/10, doesn't know what I have experienced.
Kudos to the whole team.!
The Railway Men Series Rocks...
Dahaad (2023)
Underrated, if you liked delhi crimes, you'd like this too...
Outstanding performances from all actors, the rajasthani tone, accent and typical indian behaviour, the storytelling... You'll be on your toes forever. They didn't extend for a single second everything was apt. I fell in love with it.
By far the best crime thriller series in india is delhi crimes season 1, I would rate this right next to it.
There are no loopholes, very much like any American or brit series where you can't skip a second.
Most importantly you can watch this series with your family, no cursing, no nudity yet it doesn't leave any stone unturned.
This series is a great mix of prejudices, pride, bigotry, social dilemma and midlife crises.... You'd love it.
Thank me late... Cheers.
Mandingo (1975)
Painfully Realistic and Underrated Movie...
I can see why this was controversial, and no doubt it would be if it were released now (2013). It's stunningly unlike Gone with the Wind. The style is extreme Southern Gothic, (not to be confused with camp). Some shades of Tennessee Williams but goes beyond where he dared. The dialogue is a bit difficult, and DVD has no English subtitles, but you'll be rewarded if you stick with it. (No need to understand every word). I agree that Tarantino was influenced by it but his approach to the subject matter is very different. Mandingo stands on its own as a major work of the 1970s and it's certainly a film that deserves to be better known.
Indian Predator: The Butcher of Delhi (2022)
Fasten your seatbelts folks, this is a scary ride !!
Are we really so dumb? You don't need solid direction if what we're seeing is based on true events, the thrill is there to begin with.... Secondly it was an attempt to make something original, something real, with original footage, records and images. I know the direction was weak but it wasn't a feature film, it wasn't cinema, it was documentary...
We've got a lot of judges, what we need is appreciation, so they keep making these kinda things and improve with time. This definitely deserves 7+ but I'll give 10 to even the odds, so more people watch and this reality comes into trend.
Excellent job everyone, it takes courage to make something that's no mainstream dancing around the trees cinema... Kudos.
The Accidental Prime Minister (2019)
New Era Of Bad Publicity !!
The entire plot of the movie is dedicated to malign the image of a Congress Party, I am not a congress supporter, I don't support BJP either. I watched this film just because of Anupam's portrayal of Ex PM Mr. Manmohan Singh. I like bits and pieces of the movie, but as a whole it looks as if it was a Bhakt who penned this script successfully screwed what could have been a good movie. Bhakts are deliberately giving 10/10 just so people fall into their trap and BJP could stand a chance at the coming elections.
It's a pathetic sham, don't waste your money, lighting a cigarette with that money would be much more fun to watch instead :(
Mulk (2018)
Whistle-blower turns into the Bhakt's Nightmare !!
This is my first login in many years just to rate this movie.
This is by far the best movie I watched this year, it strikes at the heart of patriotism at its cellular level. This is the kind movie that our country demands putting aside any biased mentalities.
The story talks about the suffering of an entrapped family in the crucial times when every whistle-blower is questioned of his patriotism and loyalty towards his country.
This movies is not a cliché of Hindu-Muslim controversy but speaks about the airborne infection that's eating a beautiful nation inside out.
A Masterpiece and a must watch for every Indian!!
Split (2016)
McAvoy at his best....
This is by far the best psychological thriller I have seen since Silence of the Lambs. McAvoy is amazing, the plot, the direction, the suspense everything keeps you on your toes from the beginning till the end. I would recommend this to everyone who has a sense of watching a real cinema.
