Edison (2005)
Surprisingly well done
Having never heard of this film until I saw the rental DVD I as a bit sceptical, there have been many films in the past with good ensemble casts that can't do anything film a bad script, and in some cases don't seem to care.
Well having just watched it there was no reason not to give this movie a theatrical release, it IS good. The story like most in this genre can seem a little forced at times but there does appear to be a good amount of realism here too that allows the momentum to carry. I was pleasantly surprised at how good a job Justin Timberlake does here too with such a major role, OK he's not Oscar material yet, but he'll learn with each role and he shows a LOT of promise for the future here. Dylan McDermott too was amazingly good in his unexpectedly nasty role and is definitely the cream of the crop in this movie.
Ultimately, just give it a go. you won't be disappointed, you won't be bored, in fact, I think you'll be more than happy with the end result.
Off Centre (2001)
Another funny show gone
To think when I started watching Opposite Sex and Off Centre what are the chances i'd have found them both great and then found out they were both cancelled, I'd stay up till 5.30a.m. to watch both shows every night and now they're gone probably never to be replaced. Dammi
Opposite Sex (2000)
Why cancel a great show?
I too have just been watching the entire first series of Opposite Sex and have to say this could've been one of the best new TV series for a long time. The show worked, it was funny and entertaining and even though it was shown between 3 and 5 a.m. I stayed up to see pretty much every episode. It wasn't until I visited this site and checked it out that I realised it only ran for one season. But on the plus side it introduced me to some great young actors e.g. Allison Mack, for whom I will be eagerly looking out for in the future. Every actor fitted into the role perfectly and for that we can be happy.
Happier still if they'd let it run for a while longer.
