Nae meorisokui jiwoogae (2004)
Top par Romance
I'm not the kind of guy who likes a Romance movie very often. To be honest there have been only a few movies before this in the genre which I thought were great. Enter "A Moment to Remember" (unofficial English title) which swept me away with it's amazing characters, decent story and tear jerking tragedy romance. Though the film is definitely has a lot of commercial elements to it, it still has a certain charm that is lacking in today's Hollywood films. The story may be simple but its the direction that is well done and sets the pace nicely. I also loved the musical score in the movie which was very well done especially during the last scene when its about to end.
Simply an amazing movie though not perfect is right up there in my top movie list in this genre. A solid 9/10.
Cowboy Bebop: Tengoku no tobira (2001)
Perfection!
I cant get enough of this movie. This was as amazing as the series. The imagery used that depicts "heaven's door" is so nicely done it warms up the heart. It can relate to anyone very uniquely some can be hit hard by it (as I have been) and then probably some cant. Movies like these make me proud to be an anime fan. So much better than the standard Hollywood stuff we're soo used to know. Its good to know such great alternatives like this piece of true art exist to make for such a memorable experience.
If you're going to watch this... WATCH it it ONLY in subtitled as dubbing can never be the same and the voice actors cant catch the essence of such powerful dialogues, in that regard the subs can be much better. Truly the epitome of perfection from the amazing soundtrack, to the realistic animation. This isnt a movie, this is true art that touches the soul!
The Last Samurai (2003)
Surprisingly Awesome!!!
Allright I just had to say it.... WOWOWOWOWOWOWOW!!! What an excellent movie. I haven't had this much fun over a movie for a long time. DO NOT MISS this movie ESPECIALLY if you are a fan of Japanese Anime, I swear it's like watching anime, live action. Acting was top notch alongwith the action sequences... best choreography I have ever seen, brilliantly done.
POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT!!!
Some people have been complaining over a "plot hole" in the movie that it wasnt explained what the Samurai's were actually fighting for. Maybe if you come from a society which relies heavily on "honor" and the "way of things regarding destiny" (like I come from), only then one might notice that there is no plot hole!
9/10 ... excellent!
Hotaru no haka (1988)
Realistic, and Universal
All I can say is that for those who support war this is a movie that they should watch to see who are the real victims of war no matter what reasons for a particular war is dished out. Just watching this movie reminded me of war around the world and what many go through (though most go through worse). Very realistic and haunting!! All I can do is pray that one no one has to go through such hell.
Resident Evil (2002)
Everybody's Crazy
How come the rating for this movie is so low. Being a fan of the game, I can safely say it was a dream come true. The story was great and reflected upon the game. Even the ending when Nemesis is created. Awesome.
Must see for Resident Evil Fans.
