The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (2012)
Kids movie - no point in 2nd and 3rd parts
I have to say I really liked the LoTR trilogy and I went with high expectations to The Hobbit.
But seriously, if the heroes manage to survive all that happens to them trough out the entire movie, is there any chance for the dragon in the cave? I haven't read the books so I assume at some point they will face the dragon in some form. The poor bad guy should use all that gold in the dwarf citadel to buy an LCD, see the 1st movie, open the hidden gate, roll over and die. He has no chance.
Sorry to be so sarcastic, but is there anything to see in the 2nd and 3rd movies, after seeing how the heroes defeated everything in the 1st?
Killing Them Softly (2012)
Not what I expected
The socio-political and economical connotations of this movie are interesting only for the USA citizens. For me they represented only nuisance all along the movie. I expected a gangster movie with Brad Pitt as a bad-ass and a great supporting cast. What I got was boring dialogs with meaning for, maybe, the Americans. What was so interesting about Gandolfini going on and on about how he used to screw someone back in Florida in the hotel room? What relevance did it have to the movie? It took forever with shitty details included.
I have watched Pulp Fiction after (because I just wanted to shake of the bad taste) and that's a movie with long dialogs that keep your attention, that make you not want to miss a word.
Pacala se întoarce (2006)
Worst comedy ever
I had great hope, since I enjoyed the stories about Pacala while I was a kid. Also the original movie was fun. But this poor 3 hours remake has nothing to do with comedy.
You have absolutely nothing to laugh about. There are 2 or 3 funny moments towards the end of the movie, but nothing else. And you will notice that after the first 5-10 minutes into the movie, of dumb dialog. I just wanted to leave the cinema, but I have invited 2 friends and it would have been awkward. They did not enjoy the movie either.
Also, there are pretty many many scenes with sexual orientation, not very appreciated by the parents in the cinema who brought their kids to see Pacala.
The bottom line: DO NOT GO to see this film. It's horrible.
Alexander (2004)
Too underrated
Prior to seeing this movie I have looked at it's small rating on IMDb, listened to some friends saying it's bad and had all my hopes down to the ground. But I was so interested in a historical movie so I fired up my player and I am glad I did it. The story is good (I do not know if it follows exactly the history lane), also the fighting scenes are good (especialy those involving the last battle in the woods), even tho they do not have the same grander as those big fights in LOTR or Troy. The actors do their job pretty well, very nice performance by Colin Farrell doing Alexander. See this movie. Do not let yourself intimidated about those saying it's a gay movie (as I see many do), because it's not.
Deliver Us from Eva (2003)
Great comedy to watch alone or with your friends
You do not have to be a hip-hop or an LL Cool J fan to enjoy this fine comedy. A very nice story about a man winning the frozen heart of a woman, bringing out the very best of her. I recommand this movie to everybody.
